"Oshibi is a total gem. I've lived in York for years and this is one of my favourite go to spots for a relaxed dinner. The food is authentic, consistently fantastic, and the atmosphere is always relaxed and welcoming. Mr maitre'd is lovely; he makes you feel at relaxed and at home immediately, and builds relationships with his regular customers. My one tiny quibble on service is that the menu is a little confusing at first, and the staff sometimes can't explain how it works but you figure it out! Definitely worth exploring for any foodie great for dining alone early in the evening and for bigger groups into the evening. It's a winner :"

I saw that on the line and thought we would try. The staff we were really friendly and helpful was our first experience with Korean food. They were happy to advise us in our food selection. The food was from this world, we will definitely return.

Friends came from the other side of the country, took age to find the resto in York, came there and it was closed, no lights, door locked and no view of the service, was very dissapointed, I feel totally abandoned by this service, no answer to the restaurant phone number either

The food was excellent, this is our second visit. During our first visit we ate down and this time we were up. The restaurant was not full, so this made the atmosphere a little flat, although the food prepared for it. This is a relaxed restaurant with friendly staff, it feels very like a family business we liked (Only to give an idea, the staff took all a break half through the night and sat in the restaurant for a meal). As long as you go and expect an informal approach, you will not be disappointed, the food is wonderful.
