"Cute hotel and pub but the B&B experience was not up to guesthouse hotel standards. Rooms are fine and modern, but pillows are too hard and too big. Most hotels have 2 pillows for guests to choose . A thin flatter one and a fat one. These were both fat, I woke up with neck pain. What ruined our experience was the fact that we came down for breakfast at 9:15 as agreed with staff the night before and there was no one there. No food served, just darkness. We had to wait for the manager to show up as he got caught in traffic. If you run a guesthouse you either live in the guesthouse or you show up an hour before you agree to serve breakfast to your guests. It was careless and lazy, not the British punctual hospitality one tends to find in the UK. When the manager finally showed up, it took a While to get the food which was served in installments, we had to wait for coffee to be served one by one, we had to ask for water, had to ask for bread, there was no butter no jam just pastries , fruit and cheese and charcuterie. How are we expected to eat these with no butter or jam or bread? Photos online show yogurt and cereal. We were not served these. We should have asked for some sort of refund for the breakfast unpunctuality and shortcomings. Definitely not worth £200 a night after that random poor breakfast experience. Disappointed as the place is cute and has a great vibe but the owners have no clue how to run a guesthouse. They should stick to the pub."

Dreadful experience . Indifferent staff and incompetent. Guests were dumbfounded in the morning as even at 9.30 all locked up and no staff around. The owners are in the wrong business as no care for guests who have paid to stay there. Don’t waste your money

I had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant with a group of 8 people. The food was not only fresh but also delicious. What's even better is that it's reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed. I highly recommend it!

We visited here on a hot Saturday lunchtime. The place was busy. The staff were friendly and efficient. The menu looked great and it was so nice not to the the usual boring pub menu. In saying that, you do pay a bit more. We choose the open sandwiches and they were delicious. We’ll done team!

We were searching for a great place for lunch for a group of seven. One of us discovered The Flowerpot and we all had a wonderful dining experience there. The atmosphere is lovely and the service was excellent. We didn't stay at the B&B, so we can't speak to that aspect, but for a delicious lunch spot, The Flowerpot is definitely one of the top choices in and around Henley. View menu

Avoid staying as a bed and breakfast. Hosts unwelcoming and no show for breakfast. When hosts eventually turn up despite agreeing time, no apology. Poor breakfast choice, no water or juice offered. No butter or jam with croissants. No cereal. Had to ask for bread. Don’t be fooled by nice decor service counts for everything. Hosts very non plussed and need to rethink B&B proposition to be on hand for guests. Shame it could be great.

Having run past the hotel a few times recently, we thought we should try it as it has come under new ownership and wow we were not disappointed! Just had lunch with my partner and decided to have the open sandwichs and they were fantastic and reasonably priced for the high quality of the food we had. Definitely a pub restaurant to try and one to watch in the future as it has loads of potential and in my opinion the best beer garden in Henley.

We recently stayed at this charming hotel for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and inviting. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast selection was fantastic, with a variety of croissants, cereals, charcuterie, fruits, yogurt, juices, and coffee. Both dinner and Sunday lunch were also delicious, with high-quality food. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning in the future. View menu

Loved the interior the Flower Pot has new owners and I really like what they’ve done. It was a busy Sunday so I was a bit concerned that the kitchen might be stretched as there were even people sitting outside in October but I needn’t have been. My goat’s cheese starter and roast chicken was Delicious! Can’t describe it other ways. I even had a dessert which is unlike me strawberry knickerbocker glory I only managed half of as it was so big sad to leave the other half . My hubby and friends were equally delighted. We will definitely be back.

Had a lovely walk on the towpath and ended up at this pub which is normally good for some pub food and a pint. Seems pub has changed hands and had a makeover. Looks good but unfortunately my eagerness was soon quashed by the completely disinterested bar manager who once he’d taken his eyes away from the Ryder Cup on the TV was reluctant to serve us and said no food today unless you’ve booked. It was 1pm and barely anyone was eating. Did not see any covers leave the kitchen and loads of families, hikers siting in garden eating crisps and drinking pints. Total attitude was ‘can’t be arsed’ and what a shame for a lovely pub in a lovely spot. Decent pint 8/10 Bar staff 1/10 he needs to visit cha...

"Posting on behalf of PeterfromSandhurst, who was limited to only review per month. As I was of the people on this visit, I agree with everything that has been said and whole heartedly recommend the Lord Raglan for family visits. On to...the actual review. visit, this time with six people comprising three generations aged (that day) to almost We agreed that we would just keep ordering one or two plates every minute or so and share them so we could all eat the entire menu, a bit at a time. Over hours and plates of food later the results were in, we had eaten the menu! The clear favourite by show of hands (from the little ones and the ladies) was the sticky toffee pudding (no surprises there). Choosing favourites after that was very hard indeed as they were all good. The haddock was excellent with a close dense batter that was both light but substantial (don’t ask me how) and closely hugged the good sized piece of fish. It held heat well, tasted good (both batter and fish) and remained crisp until the last bite despite not rushing to eat it. The chicken (breast pieces in the sharing platter and the smoky spicy thighs dish) were also great. Moist, very tasty but the thighs a tad spicy/smoky for the children (the smoky hit is pretty instant for a kid) but the adults all loved them, the crunchy crusted breast fillets were loved by all. The ribs were moist, delicious, plentiful and fell apart simply by looking at them. The meat board (usually a shared starter) scored highly again with the juicy pork leek sausages beautifully finished with scorched crispy skin just like the very best BBQs can manage but still wonderfully moist inside. Pulled brisket very juicy, still not sure what they use instead of butter but it works perfectly. The Korean chicken burger with kimchi was a hit with my wife (she hadn’t had kimchi before) leaving a nice afterglow without any blast of heat. She just read this and said “The sausages were delicious, I really liked those, next time I go, I am going to have sausage and mash”. Well that’s her bit done. Oh, and by the way, it was steak day (every Thursday it seems), and the steaks come as a package with chips, a sauce choice and a drink (soft or wine etc) at discounted prices, so we had a few of those too. Ordered medium rib eyes, held our breath, and low and behold medium rib eyes arrived (well done chef! And eat your heart out Miller and Carter). So if you are sick to death of places that can’t cook a steak properly, try here. I hadn’t eaten Mac and cheese for years but tried that too and found the cheese was great, had a real intense depth of flavour and lovely grilled crusty edges (that you pick out of your teeth for the next minutes mmmm). If you have the time to spend a few hours mid week with people you love in a quirky but relaxed atmosphere you could do worse than try this tasting menu approach to culinary socialising. The Staff could not have been more accommodating, despite the unconventional nature of our visit. Thank you Beth and Leah, you did an excellent job. I made a couple of remarks on my first visit about how I might improve things if I was permitted to stick my oar in and again. Bang, they had been implemented just two days later. Amazing stuff Lily (boss), you are a star. Any kitchen that consistently turns out dish after dish like this one does, has something going right. See you again soon."
