"The menu is outstanding..the chefs just get it and surpass each time. I have been now numerous, many times with young and oldies and they all love the food, the service and ambience. We just return time and time again. You have to try the calamari and/or the crab as a starter and then check out the specials menu. Their fish menu is outstanding, freshly delivered every day and they cater for all, if not your thing. Just enjoyed their Sunday lunch this weekend with beef wellington and all that came with it was cooked to perfection. Beautiful crisp potatoes, yorkshire pudding and then the gravy. All hot and cooked to perfection. Lovely outside eating area, covered, inside bar area and then a beautiful barn room for eating or an occasion. Just outstanding. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5"

What a charming little place! The food is consistently high quality, the ambience is quaint and cosy (especially when the fire is on in winter) and the staff are world class, no ask is too big. It’s dog friendly too which is a big plus Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

Wonderful pub , beautiful but we order weeks in advance gluten free stuff only to be told on the night it wasn't available. They were apologetic and genuine and didn't charge but disappointed would be a benefit to their menu if they could include this Rooms: 4 Service: 4 Location: 5

"The Sign of the Angel is a wonderful restaurant Hotel in Lacock. Service The service was amazing, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, and made our meal so enjoyable as they were always there to serve us when needed. Food The menu was very well put together and something for everybody. We all ordered something different, I have to say all the food that arrived, was beautifully presented, and hard to pick, as we all had food, envy! Drinks There was a wide range of drinks on the menu for anybody wishing to have an alcoholic drink or something that is non alcoholic. We had a beautiful bottle of rosé wine that was from a local vineyard, it was lovely to see local businesses working together! Decor The decor of the restaurant and lounges is homely and inviting, suitable for a quick, get together, business meeting, birthday parties, or something a bit more formal. Prices Prices are very reasonable, especially when you take in consideration, the location and the service that we were lucky enough to receive. Lacock This small quaint village is the most beautiful destination to visit, it is somewhere that everybody should go to to see how beautiful are English country villages are, it is also very well located as it is so close to the city of Bath. I would highly recommend The Sign Of The Angel to anyone looking for a great meal with a venue and experience that you will not be disappointed with, I think next time we’ll end up staying in the hotel that is part of the restaurant and making an even longer trip out of it as we didn’t want to leave. Food drinks: The food was exquisite, with each dish presented like a work of art. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the textures were divine. The meal was truly a feast for the senses the wine from the local vineyard also helped add to the incredible flavours as well."

"A Lackluster Indian Takeaway Experience at Akash I feel compelled to share my experience with Akash Indian Takeaway, especially considering my wife's Indian background and our high hopes for a satisfying meal for her parents, who were visiting from Delhi. While we understood that we couldn't expect an authentic gourmet Indian feast in Wiltshire, we were still left disappointed by the overall lack of spice, flavour, and seasoning in the food. It seemed as if the restaurant missed the memo on the essence of Indian cuisine. We ordered a variety of dishes, hoping for an enjoyable culinary journey. However, each one fell short of expectations. The lack of understanding of spice and seasoning was evident in every bite. The food seemed uninspired and failed to capture the vibrant flavors that make Indian cuisine so beloved. It was disheartening to discover that even with our low expectations, Akash couldn't deliver a satisfying taste experience. To emphasise the disappointment, my father-in-law took matters into his own hands and cooked a curry at our AirBNB using the few scraps we had around the house and next to no spices. Surprisingly, his homemade creation surpassed the flavors and richness of the entire meal we ordered from Akash. I assure you, I'm not saying this just to earn brownie points—it genuinely highlights the stark contrast in taste and quality. To be fair, there were a couple of positives in this experience. The food arrived promptly, still hot, and the prices were relatively affordable. These factors, however, pale in comparison to the overall lack of flavour and authenticity that we had hoped for in an Indian takeaway. In conclusion, if you're seeking a lackluster Indian-inspired soup experience, Akash may meet your expectations. However, if you're in search of a truly flavorsome culinary adventure with the taste and texture that Indian cuisine is renowned for, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Akash left us wanting more, and we were ultimately left unsatisfied with the overall quality of the food. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2 Service: 4"
