Wonderful fish and chips, opposite the holiday cottage we were stopping in so had them a second time as they were so good. Sad I didn't get time to try the proper yorkshire fishcakes. As a yorkshire girl I miss proper Yorkshire fish and chips like these, Leicester doesn't really know how to make them the same. As for winging people wanting vegetarian food its a fish and chip shop you idiots. Sorry but go somewhere else.

We were staying just a few metres along the road for a few days, but had to wait till our last night on the Wednesday for the Golden Hind to open. A very warm welcome from the owners and also two other customers. Great chat while the food was being cooked. About 19 quid for two fish suppers, an extra portion of chips, a roll (or a teacake as it's called in Yorkshire) and some mushy peas, is great value. Fed three of us easily. Everything is delicious. Brilliant place, would highly recommend.
