"Positive: The food was quite good, and reasonably priced. We all chose the option of 3 courses for £17.50. Most of us had steak. I particularly enjoyed my dessert of cheese and biscuits, a huge portion and variety of cheese. Negative: It was a Saturday night. Our party of 13 were the only diners in the restaurant. There was a handful of people sitting in the bar, who also ordered food. On duty were a chef, a cook, 3 waiting staff and one bar staff. Like the last review, our service was also a little Fawlty Towers (but no swearing). On each of the 3 courses the waiting staff cocked it up, and brought out the wrong dish for at least 2 of us. We bought our first round of drinks at the bar when we arrived. Half way through the meal, we ordered another round. A waitress carefully wrote down our 13 orders. 3 of us got drinks that we hadn't ordered. I'm still trying to work out how that happened how staff can get it so wrong on a quiet night? We had 13 meals, but were billed for 14 meals, though at least they changed that when we brought it to their attention. The food was good, but the service was far and away the worst I have ever experienced, anywhere, ever."

Met some friends here for lunch. We were the only table in the restaurant and yet the food took an age to arrive and when it did the burgers were over cooked and the Caesar salad looked like chicken from a can. They also got one of the orders wrong.

I stopped by this restaurant while exploring Rugby for a meal and was disappointed. The food was unappetizing and the service was average. The prices were too high for the quality of food offered. The restaurant's decor could use an update. Overall, I did not find it to be a good value for the money.

The food at this restaurant was delicious, with the main dish being particularly satisfying. The starter, which included 2 scallops for £11, was a bit small compared to other options like the salad or clams. The prices were on the higher side, but overall the food was enjoyable. We didn't try the recommended £50 gin or £25 steak, but I'm sure they would have been great too! The salmon, burger, and samosa were all delicious, but the mango relish was extremely spicy and too hot for one of the diners.

My husband and I went to a restaurant for Sunday lunch, arriving around 2pm. We ordered a Dubliner burger and roast beef with marinated olives as a snack. However, the experience went downhill when my cocktail tasted like watered down soda, the marinated olives never arrived, and they brought out the wrong burger. It took a long time for the correct burger to be served, making us quite hungry. We decided to skip dessert and went to Costa instead. The waitress apologized and only charged us for the food, not the drinks. The food we eventually received was okay, but the service was poor and the cocktails were terrible. Overall, we did not enjoy our lunch and will not be returning.

Recently attended a function for a group of 40+ people from a local sports club. It was a Saturday night but we were the only people in there the staff weren't expecting us! After a 45 minute late start the food was actually very good but the details rather let them down...... They served by dish rather than by table Ran out of wine coolers Ran out of some wines Ran out of some beers, and we're a thirsty lot.... We felt this merited a reduction to the bill and that's when the fun games started.... The manager swore at us, told us to never come back etc all in front of other guests. He was totally unprofessional well worthy of Basil! Would I go back, YES, his performance could be a feature BA

Went here for Sunday lunch last week, outside blackboard advertised 3 courses and a glass of wine for 14.95 good value I thought, starters ok, over cooked roast beef and thin gravy with undercooked carrots, raspberry and thyme pannacotta for pud just no thyme that I could taste? Bill came and we were charged 15.95 each, I advised the waitress of the board outside stating 14.95 but were told the price is 15.95 not wanting to argue on a Sunday afternoon we paid and assumed they had just overlooked changing the price outside, walked by today whilst in town and the blackboard still says 14.95 !!!!! Come on guys that is misleading and yes I know it's only a pound but all adds up if a large group...

After reading reviews on here I was sceptical. However, we attended on Saturday evening and we were the only ones there, with a gorgeous roaring fire and calm environment for my friends and I to relax in. The menu on offer was varied and I can safely say it is the best belly of pork I've tasted. Ever. The service was faultless, very friendly and informative. The food was superb and very reasonably priced. I personally think this is the best kept secret in Rugby as far as good restaurants are concerned. We have since been back and tried their Sunday dinner, which is equally delicious. So top marks. If you are looking for an inviting, warm, clean, tasteful evening with delicious food and great...

We've eaten here on numerous occasions and always thoroughly enjoyed the food. A few months ago they changed the menu, and took all the starters off that both my husband and I loved; mussels, chorizo, goats cheese brioche. We always have a steak here and raved about them, but the last 2 occasions we have been massively disappointed. We both ask for medium to well and they came out almost rare on both occasions. Swimming in blood on the plate when they come out is certainly off putting. Unfortunately we haven't been back, which is such a shame as before this we used to go at least once a week (and recommended it to friends who also started eating here . If you bring back the old menu, and hir...

Only visited this restaurant as waiting for my flat tyre to be replaced at kwik fit and fancied roast dinner. On entering extremely disappointed looks like no money been spent on it for years. Rooms very dated and dark and looks like it was closed as not one person was in the bar and we were the only people in restaurant the whole of the lunch time period. Felt really awkward and nearly walked out as service was very slow despite being the only customers in there. Waitresses were very pleasant and helpful . Bathroom area had been redecorated to modern standard and were spotlessly clean. We ordered roast beef which was superb I must say , beef was tender and tasty, Yorkshire puddings were hom...
