"Arrived here having raced around the area looking for somewhere that was open and still serving food, a total of about 18 miles. We were prepared to put up with any food that could be provided. Nothing was too much trouble and we had the choice of the main menu and the 'specials ' board. What a treat. We had both starter and a main course and I promised myself a desert but couldn 't find room. Staff were friendly and welcoming (despite it being locals quiz night and about to get very busy) and the food was delicious.. I don 't understand how they can keep the prices so low for such great value. The folk of Dalbeattie are fortunate to have such an establishment in their area and it is well used for meetings and other community events. Well worth the 36mile trip."

Went with the family and took a friend . Once again the food it just brilliant and so fresh . Plenty of food and the staff are lovely . It was very busy last Saturday night so we had to wait a little bit longer than usual , but it’s worth the wait . The beef stroganoff is just the best I have ever tasted and so much beef in it … The scampi was gorgeous and the fish and chips was also great . Every time we eat here it’s just so good . Especially when Lynne is cooking . Love eating here .

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."
