"My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in October. What a fantastic stay we had. First off, it's so amazing to stay at a hotel that is 100% dog friendly. Jackson our wee jack russel was welcomed at the door at check in and was given a sausage at breakfast. He wad a bit yappy at dinner time (sorry about that) but no-one batted an eyelid. Brilliant. Our room was a sea view room, we had a bay window with 2 chairs that we were able to watch the sunset at night. Fab. Only slight criticism, and it's not huge because we laughed about it, our room was in the eves, we're both 5ft 11 and we had to hunch to get to the room and then at spots in the room. We bumped our heads a few times but it made us giggle! Breakfast and dinner was superb- Karen looked after us nicely, remembered our drink order from the previous night. Thank you for making us feel welcome! Menu is varied, can recommend the chorizo pasta and the burgers! Chips are like chippy chips! Yum! We're already looking to book for summer next year, what a stunning place, so many walks and hidden treasured around the area."

A nice little hotel to base yourself for exploring the local area. The staff are very friendly and the location is ideal.

My friend and I came up to Scotland for a few days and booked the Harbour House Hotel for a meal at 7 30pm. The food was mediocre at best and too long a wait for food.

Stopped in for an unplanned lunch today after a short walk. The Staff member who met us was immediately really friendly and helpful. We sat in the conservatory overlooking the sea and had a really lovely lunch. There are light bites on the menu as well as full meals and our meal was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend. We booked a last minute bed and breakfast for one night and we also had dinner. Our food was lovely and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was called The harbour view and was very cute but the only down side was a very old uncomfortable mattress, good value for money and would stay here again if the mattresses were improved

Amazing place, my wife and I ate here as they offered a fabulous Gluten Free menu alongside their normal menu. Dogs were welcome in the bar too which gave it a lovely charm. The staff bought my pup a dog biscuit during the meal which made my heart melt Location wise is perfect as it is 10 steps across the road from the beautiful marina and small beach

Never stay again. Awful rooms and uncomfortable, Springs showing in the mattress. No housekeeping. Chipped cups and plates, disgusting food and poor service. Didnt even have the decency to leave a lamp on at night to see when you got in and that was only 9.30pm !! place was locked down by then. No night cap at the Harbour H. Staff practically shoving you out the door on our 1st night of 2. Being honest and real if you are reading this . View menu

Stayed here for a few days. Was given an apartment of Garden View which is down some stairs in what seems like the basement. The size of the apartment is very big and well equipped however there was a nasty musty smell and a very strong smell of bleach when we first arrived. This turned into a strong musty smell when we propt the doors open. The garden was a bonus and our dog loved it although we did find ourselves picking up after another dog as well. Staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble and the food is brilliant.

Room was fine, great view etc. fab shower breakfast was lovely and staff friendly. We booked a table in the bar on Saturday before heading off for the day. Knowing live music was on we double checked when we came back as it was clear the receptionist was “distracted”. The table in the bar was confirmed. When we arrived for dinner we were seated In the restaurant, while lovely, wasn’t what we booked for a night of music so we were moved into the bar. Now, we love all music but omg a heavy rock band in a small bar full of mixed ages and dogs totally missed the mark here!! We had to leave it was actually so uncomfortable, deafening and cringy. The band were good but definitely not right in this...

"Visiting Port Patrick again today we thought we would try a new place to eat. We normally eat at the same place here but today with chose the Crown Hotel. When you walk into the crown you see how old it is and I must admit it looks quant but a little dated. After finding a seat and deciding what to eat I went to the bar to order food and drinks. The service from the member of staff were pleasant and welcoming. We ordered 2 cokes and 2 stake and ale in a pudding one with chips and one with baby potatoes. We were charged a few pence short of £39 and given 2 cans of coke and asked would we like a glass with them? £4.80 for 2 cans of coke) Going back to the table I sat down and within less than 5 minutes our food was there on our table. I always worry when the food is so quick as I never feel it properly prepared fresh for you and when you are paying £17 a meal you at least want something fresh-ish. WHAT REALLY ANNOYED ME was while we were eating our food people were bringing dogs into the bar past our table to talk to a guy sat next to us. Chatting away these dogs were just sat by our feet as we ate. No one seemed to care about these dogs brushing up against people eating a meal. The food The baby potatoes were ok, the pudding was a frozen one you would get from a supermarket, the veg was hard, the meat was dry and bland and the gravy tasteless. I would say this food was a preprepared meal and just placed into a microwave. I don’t like to be so blunt in my reviews as this is always someone’s business and livelihood was are talking about, but this really was that bad. The service during the meal was none existent. When the waitress came to take our plates she did not seem surprised when I complained about our food, saying only I’ll pass it on. No apologies or anything. Even with me saying the food was especially the veg was disgusting. It was like water off a ducks back. Will I eat here again NO sadly the service and the food was very poor."

"For some reason I can not reply to your answer. Sadly you are absolutely wrong in everything you have stated, I find your tactic of attacking people who give less than 5 star reviews. I am not going to try to defend myself, as I stand by everything I said. I have made an appointment to see a solicitor about your untruthful comments. I would really of liked to put a good review up, however, I would not recommend this hovel to my worst enemy. Firstly the room was so small, and tatty, extremely dated with an alarm clock, which surely has been taken from a chalet from Pontins in the 1970s, that even the amazing view could not compensate. There was dog meat/food on the carpet, and I assume ash. When I went to look for someone to let them know, there was no one about. The bathroom was not fit for purpose, one as it was a converted cupboard, and the notice in the room explaining that the steam from the shower which was cracked set off the sensitive smoke alarm, so you could not even have a shower. Then when we went for breakfast, after waiting for 40 minutes for a breakfast which was a 1 sausage, a piece of streaky bacon, uncooked tomatoes and mushrooms, haggis, b pudding and beans. When I went to complain about this on the way out, I had the pleasure of speaking to someone called Donna, who was at best obnoxious, and as unhelpful as it was someone else 's fault, I quote I don 't clean the rooms, I don 't cook the breakfast . I would rather sleep in a tent than give money to this place, please look elsewhere, unless you want to feel as though you are being ripped off. In response to your reply I thankyou for it. I do not deny that I was irate, and if she cried, I feel terrible about that but I have also left things out, like the denial of the previous evenings attempt with the same lady about the state of the room, however I stand by everything I said, As you are true to form, as it never ever seems to be your fault, if you look at the previous low reviews, it is always someone else 's fault. Oh by the way breakfast took 40 minutes, and as you were not there, maybe you can check CCTV and see that the uncooked food was left, as was the haggis, however the toast provided was superb. I applaud your defense of your staff, I truly do. Hopefully you can maybe if you get another less than favourable review, see that it is the same points over and over again, and try to address them points, just a thought. Thanks again for your reply below, and I stand by everything I said, and truly can 't be bothered dissecting your reply, one slight point, I have witnesses about the night before, so I take with a pinch of salt, your comments"

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."
