"We went to the Saturday night comedy, downstairs at the King’s Head in Crouch End and we’re looking forward to a lighthearted evening. There’s certainly much that comedians can make fun of at the moment and we all need some relief from a hard year...or so. We were shocked to hear jokes about a Sikh amd a Jewish boy fron the compare. The first act went on to brutally make fun of gay couples, transsexuals, Muslims … there were no limits. We were shocked at the jokes and at the audience laughing … do people still make these jokes? Sickened, I complained. The lady to whom I complained seemed to be quite surprised that this caused offence. Deeply saddened to know that people still think this material is acceptable and ignorant enough not to realise that sharing such racist material doesn’t propagate racist attitudes. A deeply unsettling evening."

I booked the downstairs space for a Birthday Party last week and it was absolutely perfect! Cosy and intimate so didn't matter whether there were a few or lots of people. I had DJs and dancing, the sound was brilliant. The team at The Kings...Head were super helpful in advance and arranged canapés and drinks on arrival with plenty of lovely staff to help out on the night. Really couldn't have been better View menu

The pub has a great atmosphere. The food was excellent but took a while to get to us.One point on service..it is not a good idea to come to the table and place the reserved notice for the next group using our table before our food...was served, especially since we were waiting a while for the food.It felt like we being rushe!!.Other than that the sea bass meal and vegan burger meal was absolutely delicious .

I have booked a table on a Saturday night for a party of 8 that updated the booking was in order as I added the people on the table. in the evening we had reserved our table for us and the order by a QR code was easy. the food came quite fast and it was of good quality. we went down for a comedy show that was fantastic! we ordered drinks again via a QR code and they were delivered on time. all in all, we all agreed that this was a very good place to have a delightful night outside and we will definitely be back

"A friend and I stumbled on to this neighbourhood restaurant by chance; no research, no booking, no expectations. We were then blown away by the quality of the food: wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully cooked. The service is also exemplary. I've always enjoyed calamari, but this was by far the best I've ever had: truly succulent and juicy. The mussels were almost as good, and the sea bream kept up the standard. The spiced quince with ice cream made a nice change from baclava in a Turkish restaurant (they still threw in some baclava). The owner, Tony, provides excellent recommendations — make sure you take them! He knows what's fresh that morning, and how his wife cooks it. The bill comes hand-written, and Tony forgot to include the wine (obviously I corrected him). I can't remember the last time a restaurant bill made a mistake in the customers' favour! No service charge is included, and it deserves a lot more than the usual 12.5%. This is a wonderful, old-fashioned restaurant, run by a charming old couple, committed to maintaining old-fashioned standards. The food is more than great and the prices more than reasonable. Service is personal, honest and responsive (providing Tony turns his hearing aid on). Tony warns you if anything you wanted was bought in, rather than home-made. Why don't unassuming but wonderful restaurants like this get Michelin stars?"
