"My parents and I went. We are mix of veg and nonveg but we all had a wonderful experience. Its a real hidden gem of a restaurant (though when we went we were glad we booked as we would have struggled to get a table . It has been there for a while, and seems popular with the locals who know which is always a great sign. The best value affordable food (compared to anywhere but especially London , and everything is great quality, clearly fresh ingredients and tasty. Obviously as a veggie or vegan you can be absolutely sure of what you are getting; but there's such a variety of food to try, non veggies were delighted too. The portions were a surprise and really generous (initially I thought the order had doubled everything by accident! . Must try and not to be missed as individuals, couples, families and/or groups. You can really treat yourself and experiment here, but you'll get full and wonder about the other dishes! For some dishes they seem to put a signature spin on it the paneer dosa which was presented as a delicious wrap, which made it easier to eat than normal. And finally it was so wonderful having such a welcoming and homely feel. You can see the people here are genuinely interested in, feel a sense of responsibility to, and care about each and everyone of the guests here; whilst also giving them space to just relax and enjoy themselves. If only more restaurants were like this we certainly need more of this type. It was a very unique and positive experience, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone of any dietary persuasion. Thank you!"

"We were devastated when The Haberdashery closed down earlier in the year after the original owner had decided to leave London. This was our favourite brunch spot and you could pretty much guarantee that we'd be here every Sunday for our usual' weekend sustenance. However,...we were thrilled to discover that the new owners were re-opening this popular Crouch End eatery under the same name, interior design and similar menu. Not only was the interior decor maintained, including the seasonal art exhibits that are displayed on the walls, but the menu remained surprisingly similar to the original. In fact, some of the items had been enhanced. As a self-confessed tea junkie I was delighted to see the inclusion of a range of new teas. It's not often that you find peony tea on the menu so to have a choice of these was a real treat. I've been working my way through this new list since it's reopened and have not been disappointed. For a brunch to be a success, eggs and a good Hollandaise sauce are a must. This new iteration of The Haberdashery certainly surpassed my expectations. One of the bonuses of its previous incarnation was the gluten-free alternative options which have happily, been continued by its successor. The only thing I would add to these amazing eggs Benedict brunches would be a simple green salad which its previous incarnation would include with a simple but tasty balsamic dressing. Our year-old was always a big fan of their original Kid's menu but has become enamoured with several of their newer grown-up' menu options. She was delighted to discover that their famous sweet and savoury muffins were still on the menu, not to mention a new range of delicious cakes. In all, we are delighted that The Hab that we know and love is still very much alive and kicking. We certainly miss the original owner and staff members but really do appreciate the commitment and determination of the new team as well as the new additions to their delicious and extensive menu. We look forward to many more weekends at this cosy and friendly eatery."

"It's a bit worrying when you walk into a pub for lunch and the staff kind of ignore you. The manager could see we were waiting and came over and took us to a couple of reserved tables. He seemed to want us to sit next to another couple, with about a foot between the tables. We didn't and sat at the table next to that. It wasn't busy for a sunday and it was odd that he did that but whatever. Logistics? Anyway nice young woman came and took our drinks orders and was very pleasant if a bit flustered. Ordered starters and the porchetta. It's a lovely Victorian pub and we had a nice natter before the padron peppers and bao crispy beef turned up. Both were really nice, and well cooked. Then things went a bit pear shaped. Firstly my roast arrived but not my partner's as the waitress admitted she had forgotten to order it, just having asked for one main. She offered a comp dessert and was super apologetic. Mistakes happen so we were all fine with that but not so much with the porchetta. Expecting pork wrapped around a herb stuffing instead I had cremated meat next to a weird disc of paxo. The meat was so overcooked three hours later I could still taste the it and not in a good way. How the kitchen had thought it ok to send this out was beyond me. Yorkshire was also charred and the potatoes were pretty ****. I asked for more gravy and got a jug of what tasted like stock, it was so salty to be inedible. When my partner's food arrived she was already off put by the state of my plate and was massively unimpressed. Her yorkie arrived, burnt a few minutes later. We ate here a few months back and it was superb despite it being super busy, yesterday it was half empty and so not sure what was happening, there were two chefs in the kitchen and only maybe 10 tables. We complained to the manager without making a rumpus and pretty much said the above. He comped the mains without any argument which was good of him but he could see how bad it was just looking at the plates. Shame because this is a decent pub."
