"The restaurant' period decor sets an appropriate scene to celebrate a special occasion with dinner. The foodie menu offers a good experience for any unique occasion. The chefs deserve the recognition such as that from the Michelin Guide for their apparent skills in the food presented and from a wonderfully put together menu combination. However we have a few comments that we feel are justified. The staff are quite young and when we asked about some of the items on the menu the young waitress was clearly not au fait with what they were, which for her was embarrassing. Having experienced a number of foodie restaurant menus of the likes of Manchester House/ Manchester, Bar Balou/Knightsbridge etc staff are usually fully appraised about the whole menu and extremely knowledgable, in order that any diners questions can be fully answered when deliberating. Also; a variety of breads were voluntarily delivered to the table by staff, which I hasten to add were not ordered, but which appeared on the bill. Overall a good experience which we enjoyed, but with room for improvement, particularly with better training for the young staff who after all can only excel with skills passed to them."

As usual a really enjoyable Sunday lunch at The Lawns. I would recommend Thornton Hall to my family and friends.

Really quiet for a Friday night! Good was lovely not a great deal of choice for somewhere pushing for a star!! Waitresses where friendly but at times a little overbearing.

A brilliant value for money foodie Sunday lunch. Nice choice of each course and delicious well presented and reasonable sized portions. Very high quality food for a reasonable price.

A very high stndard lunch at an excellent price. The only surprise was that there were so few other diners. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the food was as good as I have had on the Wirral.

Sorry, the performance has nothing to do with a 1-Michelin-star restaurant ! The kitchen is high standard and above average but the whole package concerning service and kitchen is not enough. Ambience is really nice!

My family and myself are regulars at the Lawns Restaurant. We all really enjoy our Sunday lunches here. The food is always excellent and presentation is exceptionally eye catching. You just can not wait to taste the mouthwatering plate in front of you.

Very disappointing starters were minuscule you would need a magnifying glass to see mine and it was charged with a £4 supplement. Main course ok roast lamb served with an overcooked Yorkshire pudding? Wine vastly overpriced £28/29 for an average bottle of white or red.

This is the second time I have brought a guest here for lunch. The Lawns provides quality food and presentation. It's evident that great care effort is taken to provide a well judged menu. The service is what you might expect from any quality London restaurant. Staff are friendly but again serve with professionalism that doesn't let the great food down. The price reflects good value for money as long as you are a quality orientated diner.

my three friends and I had a very pleasant evening and meal when we visited there on 30.06./16. the personal was attentive and welcoming and the food was well cooked and presented. I felt that the room was quite dark and it could be with more effective lighting, my friends voted with me on this point. because of the fact that a euro 2016 was shown march, it was on the loud side, but this was obviously not something that happened too often.

"what a stunning little jewel just a stone's throw from waterloo station. I was great by a very friendly young lady blonde haare,) who found me a table on a Friday evening in consideration of the evening entertainment very well singer with his gitarre and harmonika.) the venue is very covered but with a touch of class with beautiful, subtle light and really warm atmosphere. a place where you're lucky to take a date. I noticed that they are also dogs friendly. they have a very good selection of beer and weep as well as cocktails that were offered at this night £6.50 from 8 o'clock, but I loved the Czech beer and stayed on it. the menu is in the round small plates of local ingredients to make as much as their meal times as possible. I felt hungry as always,) so the ochsenwangen had a side of the skin on fries. I have properly informed that it would be significant. the eating was just delicious, I can honestly say it was the most beautiful eating I had in a quite long time again a few years) and I often eat. from the 1st mouth full to the last did not want to finish it) it was simply amazing. ox wange is something I didn't have, but braided in a simple gravity and only a few nice with my fries that slept up the juice, I was in the food-to-food sky. I stayed for a few hours enjoying the beer and atmosphere created by entertainment and the staff as well as the good amount of people also a good evening. I ask them if they eat good service and only a good time to try this place, and I am confident that they will not be disappointed. Thank you."
