"My family has been going to the Lighthouse restaurant for over 20 years, and we have always loved it. However, it seems like the quality has gone down recently. They didn't offer us the delicious homemade bread with dipping oils anymore, and now they charge for it. The menu was still interesting and diverse, and I ordered the venison which was great, but the vegetables were not hot. The chocolate bread and butter pudding could have been amazing if it wasn't cold in the middle. I sent it back, but it only came back slightly warmer. To top it off, a waitress brought us two glasses of red wine that we didn't order (we already had a bottle). They tried to charge us for it on the bill, but they removed it after we complained. No apology was given."

We tried the fish platter and it was one of the best dishes I have had in over 40 years in the restaurant business. The cod was wonderful and the prawns were fabulous.

We visited for lunch and ordered from the fixed price menu. The food was tasty but the choices very limited two starters and two mains to choose from and no vegetarian option. At just under £30 it was nevertheless very good value.

This is a superb venue for lunch. Good value, especially the set menu, and freshly cooked ingredients displaying imagination and much competence. The calf’s liver (I have had it twice recently) is outstanding. It’s a hidden (not on High St) gem.

Been here a few times, food is always excellent. The only thing I think they need to improve on is the lack of quality non alcoholic wines and beers , there are plenty of really high quality non. Alcoholic wines that exist now and it is frustrating to be limited to water , coke or mocktails

I went for Sunday roast, and as a chef myself, I can be quite critical. This place is fantastic. Their roast lamb and roast beef were amazing, and the horseradish sauce was truly exceptional. The chef, Commander Chris, is a class act. You should definitely go here, you will not be disappointed.

Visited here with family for a late Saturday lunch. The set menu was a very reasonable price and had a wonderful feta, almond and rocket salad to start and one of the best pork belly dishes I have ever tasted. Service was excellent and the light open, contemporary decor added to a wonderful meal. Highly recommended.

My experience at Light House was delightful! I went there with my best friend and we had a blast. The food was delicious, and the restaurant's wine list was truly good. The friendly and attentive staff made the visit even more enjoyable. Karmena was our waitress and she was very sweet and kind. Lovely peaceful ambience, Light House is a must-visit for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed our visit here with friends. Loved the feta and Mediterranean vegetables salad, I wasn’t sure it would be a salad from the menu description but glad that it was, perfectly dressed and tasty. We all enjoyed the seared tuna tartare although I thought the garnish was limp and overdressed but the others loved it. Cheese board was good. Fudge and truffles were so tasty we ordered a second round ; Cod was cooked perfectly and gone in a minute! We will be back!

Visited for breakfast. As soon as we walked in there was a lack of good vibes they were playing a radio station with noisy commercial adverts, we didn’t get a friendly reception, and there were dirty plates on empty tables for the majority of our visit. The presentation of the eggs on toast was underwhelming and both portions of poached eggs ordered were undercooked with raw egg in the middle. Unfortunately it was a real let down and not a good advertisement for their evening food which looked nice online. The toilet area didn’t feel very clean/fragrant either. Wouldn’t recommend this for brunch/breakfast at all sadly, especially when they add a 13.5% service charge on top.
