"I asked if they would fry me a fresh small cod and the lady said yes sure. I went away for 5 minutes, came back and she handed me the box straight away. I thought it would of taken more than 5 minutes to fry a piece of cod but I didn't say anything. When I drove home(5 minutes away)and tasted the cod it was no way freshly fried, I certainly know what a piece of cod tastes like when it's just come out the frier, it had been sitting in the display cabinet for some time in my opinion. The batter was soft and soggy and it wasn't hot like when cod IS freshly fried. If your not prepared to fry it fresh for me just say so please. When the cod is fried fresh I have no complaints but when it's been sitting there for some time in the display cabinet it's not pleasant atall. Not satisfied on this occasion. "Table for 2, three courses. The veggie option was a bit of a farce as it was a vegetable side dish that they put cheese on, then charged £15. Without cheese it's about £5 as a side. Other than that, delicious. Oh, and the waiter forgot about us, twice. Once when we needed to order and the second time he forgot our wine, which we didn't get until halfway through our dinner. We'll still go back. The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious. They could use some additional veggie options but the wife loved her meat pie dish. Vegetarian options: Could use some newer, more updated options."

"A group of us friends from Maidstone, Kent. We randomly visit various types of restaurants on the last week of each month. This time it was The Empress Of India . There were 6 of us this time on the 28th of August 2019. We had a fantastic welcoming by Mr. Babul, who is one of the owners, a really nice person, along with the rest of the staff. We asked Mr. Babul, to make us 6 mixed starters and 6 Main Dishes, with some side dishes and rice as well as naan breads. The food was FANTASTIC, service with a smile and Mr. Babul kept us all entertained. We all shared stories about our experiences in the Indian Restaurant, both as customers as well as workers and managements/owners. I would highly reccomend this restaurant to everone. It has a 10/10 from me."

"We came to this restaurant to celebrate my grandson's birthday. The food was enjoyable and the young waitresses were lovely. However, the owners of the pub were rude. The lady who owned the pub tried to take our plates away before we were finished, and then became rude and raised her voice. We all paid separately, but they were aware of this when we made the booking and still came across as rude and arrogant. The food was good, but the atmosphere for my grandson's 10th birthday was ruined. Thank you, but if you are having a bad day, please don't ruin someone else's. We will not be returning here for this reason."
