"If i could leave half a star i would. We took my father in law to lunch for his birthday, there were 6 adults and a one year old. Our waiter got most of the order wrong, including giving a full priced sunday roast to the one year old and seemed surprised that we said he'd never be able to eat all that. We ordered 3 lamb roasts, all came up raw, one of our guests didn't want a new meal so had nothing. When the 2 new lamb dinners returned, there was some cooked lamb and some raw but it was all mostly fat. Everything was completely overseasoned. We were charged for 7 adult meals even though we ordered 6 but one was returned without a replacement. It was absolutely awful and I'm very disappointed that we were asked to pay full price for everything considering the dreadful experience we had. A ruined birthday lunch. I would steer clear of this place and perhaps go to either The Rabbits or Top Oak which are far superior."

Should have listened to previous reviews. Made to feel very unwelcome. Hair in pint, waitress looked so annoyed when we pointed it out, replaced without any acknowledgement/apology. Only 2 people manning busy pub with inside and outside dinning and busy terrace. Better to have closed kitchen if could not cope. would avoid if looking for a nice relaxed meal out and listen to previous reviews that echo the same.

The pub is lovely and the staff are great. I have been here many times and the food is good and the beer is excellent. However, this week there was only one real ale available, with a high ABV of 4.5%. It was awful - cloudy and warm. This is unacceptable for a pub. It seems that the pub now caters more to Lager drinkers, which is disappointing but likely due to their clientele. This experience has made me hesitant to return. View menu

The food at this charming rustic pub was really enjoyable. The staff, though young and inexperienced, were friendly and provided good service. While the portions were not very generous and the food wasn't outstanding, we still had a pleasant time with some light-hearted moments. The venue is dog-friendly and the furry friends were well-behaved. Overall, it was a nice experience and I may or may not visit again, simply because it's not in our usual part of London.

Food was good, menu a bit limited for the Mrs, but shes fussy. Its not really a pub any more. We wanted to have a few drinks before we ate, but you really need to book and we were sat at a table. We were made to feel they were super busy and we would need to be done by 7, which was not a problem. We were shown to a table round the right side of the pub and we were the only ones there. I really didnt feel welcome and it was like they wanted us out ASAP. Never felt like this before in this pub, we will drink here in the summer when you can use the great facilities in the garden, but wont be back until then, I think it has been taken over recently as it wasnt like this early in 2022. Disappoint...

I haven't visited the Orange Tree in a while, but today's meals were outstanding. I had the beef roast dinner and my companion had the pan-fried salmon. The waitress was very helpful in suggesting gluten-free options and even made a special sauce for me. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and everything tasted fresh. The beef roast was cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire pudding was amazing. The food was served hot and the chef did a great job. The waitress provided excellent service and the drinks were good. The atmosphere was pleasant and not too loud. I will definitely be returning as the prices are reasonable and the quality is great. The restaurant is clean and there was a beautifu... View menu

I had not been to The Orange Tree before, but I was impressed with the excellent meals they served today. I ordered the beef roast dinner and the pan-fried salmon, both of which were delicious. The waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable about gluten-free options, even making a special sauce for me. The dessert was also perfect and tasted fresh. The roast beef was cooked perfectly, paired with a delicious Yorkshire pudding. The food was beautifully presented and served hot. The waiter provided excellent service and the drinks were great. The atmosphere was cozy and not too noisy. I definitely plan to come back as the prices were reasonable and the quality was worth the money. The restaur...

Shame...seemed like a nice pub, in a nice spot, with several outside tables, but ordered food at 1.30 which arrived at 2.30 after having to ask about it a couple of times. The people behind me in the queue were warned food would be 30-40 mins, but an hour is double that and unacceptable for a light lunch (i.e. sandwiches ham and chips etc). Our little one was feeling sick with hunger by the time it arrived. We are not problematic clients, and they could have pulled it back with an apology and perhaps an offer of a complimentary drink, but neither were offered. My fries did not appear, again no apology when I went back in to get them refunded. Won't be going back.... Ps. if you do decide to g...

"this is a great place Thai restaurant that we unfortunately do not visit as much as we want. it has been an established part of my hometown hornchurch and serves fantastic Thai cuisine for many years. I am now glad to say that on Saturday we had a opportunity to visit and again eating was full of all the aromes they expect from this style of food. on Saturday we have walked on our fifteen minute walk to the heart of the city where they find the restaurant. we entered and received the usual friendly reception before we took our places. While we looked at the menu, we ordered a beautiful bottle of maison bergon 2020 a delightful French sauvignon blanc, full of citrus fruits, apple and lemongras aromas. unusual for us we decided to choose a set menu. we chose the Bangkok menu with an additional Thai salad. this started with the prawn crackers and sweet chili diving sauce. the starter was a plate consisting of chickensatai, spring rolls, huh on toast, chicken strips prawn tempura, which was all fresh, hot and full of fabulous thai aromen. we followed this with our additional plate of the yum nuar a fabulous spicy salate of cut grilled sirloin, swirl, early swirl, coriander, lemon juice, fish sauce chili flock, which I would definitely recommend. we now went to the main courses that would be with ingwer in black bohnensoße, chicken green curry, sweet with egg noodles. thai jasmin reis. the aromen and choir again complicated themselves perfectly and made every dish absolutely delicious. to finish they can have either tee, coffee or a few pots vanilla ice cream. this brought our charming Thai lunch to the end, and we hope to do again in the near future. I would highly recommend a visit here as eating is fantastic and there is always a good friendly service. also it is a long established part of our community and should be supported. many thanks for our fabulous lunch and look forward to seeing them all again soon."

"Very disappointed with food quality and service. We had booked a table for 13 people, 3 of which which were children. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely waitress who took us to our seats, but then proceeded to ask us to pass the plates and cutlery down the table to where the other guests were yet to arrive. So we set half of the tables, which is bizarre to ask a customer, but she was a lovely girl so it wasn 't a big deal at the time...until things went really downhill. We ordered 3 x £40 mixed grill platters which are meant to serve 3 4 people and asked for rice only, no bulgar. All 3 platters were brought with half rice and half bulgar; we asked the waitress to correct this, and she was apologetic and came back with a bowl of half rice and half bulgar again, we asked for rice on, so she went back and got a bowl of rice. Bearing in mind each platter is meant to serve 3 4 people, I struggled to serve the children an adequate portion they had 2 tablespoons of rice each; that 's how much rice was served with the large grill. My 10 year old niece then pulled out a long strand of hair from the kofteh she was about to eat; absolutely disgusting! Unsurprisingly, the cook wasn 't wearing a hair net, which I presume is standard?? I tried to be tactile and not draw too much attention to the situation to other eating customers, so quietly pulled the waitress aside and gave her the hair; she apologised and had another kofteh cooked (actually felt sorry for the girl, she looked mortified). The crunch came when we went to eat the chicken wings and baby chicken so many were raw pink and red raw meat! We told the waitress and she was insistent that it was cooked, but took it back believe me we have cooked chicken before and know what raw meat is. We were shocked when the same chicken was re cooked and then served back to us bear in mind, by this point the chicken had already cooled down from the first time it was cooked, centre was raw, and then re cooked and served again! There was no way we would 've touched it; also keep in mind that some of the chicken had come off different guests ' plates and were bitten into how were we supposed to know which piece was who 's?? So bizarre, I 've never had this happen, even in the cheapest small café. By this time to be honest we were off our food. The meat wasn 't great really; some was ok; the chicken shish was ok, the lamb chops were also ok; the chicken kofteh had no flavour; the kofteh was very greasy; the rice was wet. On a high note, the lahumajun was lovely and so were the dips and bread. When it came to the bill, we made it clear the chicken should be taken off, as none was eaten by anyone. When the waitress came and handed the bill over and was asked if the chicken was removed from the bill, her response was I 'm just a worker who else are we supposed to ask then? Why the attitude?! We had the right to complain after being served raw meat! The cook/owner then came over, leaned over me, with a plate of chicken hovering above my head and my face in his armpit, and started to argue with another guest that we didn 't ask for the chicken to be well done; no spacial awareness or respect for one 's space whatsoever. I didn 't realise we had to request for our chicken not to be raw; absolutely ridiculous. He knocked off £15 and for a £170 bill and the awful experience, I think that was insulting. He then knocked off a bit more, and we just accepted as wanted to get out of there. The same waitress came back and cleared the table, slamming the plates onto the trays no manners whatsoever and clearly showing she 's pissed off. Such a shame; all other guests witnessed this while they were trying to eat; could 've been totally avoidable. Why risk your reputation? I 've never had to ever make a complaint like this before, let alone write such a review. If you choose to eat here, check your meat is thoroughly cooked, or you 'll be poisoned!"
