"Myself and my very special friend decided to celebrate our early, but very important Christmas lunch at this lovely restaurant. We arrived at the place very hungry and looking forward to some stunning food as we had enjoyed previously. AJ looked after us perfectly and apart from being one of the chefs he also took control of front of house as there was an issue with a shortage of staff and nobody in the restaurant. AJ could not have done anymore to accommodate us. We had drinks and nibbles instantly whilst we chose our food from the extensive menu. The food was tasty, well cooked and great value. The service was attentive and good. We would not hesitate to return and encourage everyone to try this fabulous restaurant. Once again thank you to AJ who really saved the day and is a credit to the Oxford Brasserie."

Fabulous dinner. Presentation superb. Broad bean salad was ingenious. Celeriac remoulade was the highlight for me. Steak was perfect and belly pork divine. Good wine list. Excellent service. Will def recommend and return.

This was a birthday treat for my birthday from my son. There were 5 of us and the service was very good. Menu was extensive and varied. It was very quiet when we went, probably because it was midweek lunchtime. Had a great meal and my dessert was delivered by the staff singing happy birthday. It made for a lovely day.

Stopped off here on my way to the cruise terminal for lunch and very glad I did! I just had the rib-eye steak with a Stilton sauce, came with salad snd triple cooked chips which were excellent. Pint of Moretti to wash it down, a very good lunch and highly recommended. A very attentive host who was genuine and friendly. I hope the food on the ship is as good as this was! View menu

Family lunch on a Saturday lunchtime. Welcoming on arrival. Good choice on the menu: Food tasty looking mains and a good range of drinks. Decent pint of Moretti. Service was attentive and professional. The thai inspired swordfish on the mains was excellent would happily recommend. Good atmosphere. The marinated pork chop was delicious. Facilities were clean and fresh. Thanks for a lovely occasion.

We came here as a large table of 10, both adults and children and were all really happy with the food. We came here on a Sunday so a lot of the table did have Sunday Roasts, but it was the best roast I have had out. They offer Sirloin Of Beef, Chicken Lamb, I had lamb chicken. Highly recommend visiting for a Sunday lunch! Crisp potatoes, lovely vegetable selection, multiple meat choices, a big Yorkshire and great gravy! Thank you!

I have been here a lot because I think it is that good. On my last review I said that standards were slipping a bit but I am pleased to say that this was just an aberration. The food was very good. Scallops ,cooked perfectly, and Moules to start followed by a fillet steak , again perfectly cooked and a Moroccan steak spiced as it should be. The NEW menu is working well. The staff were absolutley first class. , courteous , friendly and efficient. View menu

Wonderful food!, we happened upon the bistro during our visit to the boat show. The food was so good we decided to eat here a twice and we were not disappointed. The first evening we had mussels and fries delicious Thai inspired sauce) The following evening ,We both had the special which was stuffed squid and to follow the pan fried cod with buttery mash and Crispy samphire both of which were wonderful . The staff are friendly and welcoming. It’s so nice to report such a find! Try it I’m sure you will enjoy it.

I had to ask for the vegan menu (where vegan options aren’t included on the main menu (why not? then the vegan menu should automatically be provided to everyone at the table along with the ‘main’ menu. And after the main course remember who the vegans are and give them the correct pudding menu this showed a lack of attention and I just couldn’t be bothered asking for my menu again so went without. The food we did have we all thought was very good. What I saw of the venue it looked a bit tired and the pictures on the walls were hung badly and were not in keeping. Won’t rush back as a vegan.

"This review is based on my experience on the day, and could be different for you, but I doubt it. I kept being told about a Burrito bar in Southampton and that I should try it. Well I attended today, with the friends who told me about this place, and have to say I had, up to this point never had a Burrito in my life. Seen many programs showing them but never had I ever tried one. Followed what my friend did, and I got my burrito the way I wanted it to be. You walk in, you’re asked if you want a small or large (unsure if medium is available burrito. Then your problems start, but in a nice way. So many main options it can be mind boggling until you get your head around it. The staff were fantastic after I chosen my main meat/rice of tomato rice and shredded beef. I then moved on to the extras, sauces, chose a mild sauce many salad options and it was then prepared for eating (folded then wrapped in silver foil then payment. And I was ready to eat at the tables in the front part of the shop. Warning that prices vary dependent on the size and the meat you have as your filling. Mine with shredded beef with the rice and toppings I chose totaled £9.95. No complaints from me as the food was hot, tasty, held together by the silver foil, filling and worth every penny in my opinion. Pricing is no different to any local take away I suppose but the bigger the meat (to many to list hear, but from pulled meat to chunks of steaks you have the more expensive it is but it is filling and good value. If you are not a meat eater you could ask for a vegetarian burrito, made of rice and the vast vegetable additions. Cannot see that being an issue. You can do take away, eat in or delivery. They do other dishes which I did not even get to look at but I would say all pallets are catered for. You could always call in advance or check their website, Mexigo Southampton. I think there are other Mexigo branches around the local area as far as Maidstone if you google Mexigo. Don’t shoot the messenger as this was the first time I had visited this shop/chain and I was unsure as you are reading my review, but I was satisfied with what I chose, and think if you plan your selections well either there or via the website you will not be disappointed."
