"Within 20minutes of each others there is 5 Harvesters… I have never had a breakfast where I can’t swap my items apart from the Rayleigh brunch… I don’t like half the stuff you offer and you can’t swap tomatoes for mushrooms? I see a greedy Head Chef or General Manager. The service was good, lady was lovely this morning. The food was not great.. burnt toast, burnt sausages and burnt bacon… didn’t have time to complain as on way to a nice holiday. Not the morning we wanted. Once rated Harvester Rayleigh but this morning has made me remember why I go to the others. Not sure if Harvester become greedy but why no more unlimited, and having to pay for juice now?? I would suggest go elsewhere guys."

My and my self ordered the chicken skewers, very disappointed food was cold, we had to send it back. Every time I go there, they have always run out something, today was peppercorn sauce and no bacon and onion bits for the dirty fries. We won't be rushing back. View menu

Visited for lunch today and it was really nice the food was great as always and Megan was so lovely very helpful happy, and chatty and clearly a natural people person. Great customer service makes such a difference to your overall experience and your day in general. I would have liked to leave Megan a tip but rarely carry cash and don’t really like leaving a tip by card.

We were served by Harry this evening, he was very attentive and friendly, and was very thorough when confirming menu items were gluten free for me. My husband is autistic and the lovely hostess did her best to seat us somewhere out of the way and quiet, which we really appreciated. The salad bar was fresh and our main meals were delicious. We asked for dessert to go as the restaurant was getting quite loud (Friday evening rush), and that was not a problem. Harry took care of everything, swiftly and professionally. Thank you for a great experience!

"Made a late booking for the Sunday roast spoke to the lovely Wendy the manager, over the phone she done everything she could to accommodate myself and partner. What a lovely warm welcome we got. We were welcomed like old friends. The food was amazing home cooked hot food. It felt like going to someone’s house for Christmas Day. Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. The service was spot on, the staff lovely and welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed and spotlessly clean. The prices were reasonable. We enjoyed a lovely beef roast with all the trimming including extra gravy, follows by aunties homemade pavlova. I don’t normally leave reviews, but felt I had to after visiting this gem of a place. Which I found via trip advisor so thought only fair for me to also report back after my Visit. If your near or staying in Southend and don’t visit this restaurant your be sorry. "Visited with some work colleagues for a birthday lunch and we had a fab time. We were served by Maria and Susana and both were attentive, polite and always smiling. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the half francasinha as I knew that this was a very filling dish and I still felt really full afterwards. My two colleagues also struggled o finish their food. The portion sizes are such good value for the price paid. The desserts are also homemade we had the flan which been made only that morning really delicious. They heard we had a birthday on the table and so one of the flans came with a candle and the staff sang happy birthday so nice of them to go this extra mile."

"The staff and service were really great BUT unfortunately the food was not. The coated prawn starter was sad to say the least, the prawn substance was no more than 5 mm long. THE FISH CHIPS WAS BAD. YOU NO LONGER HAVE COD. Instead it was flat, all skin batter ONE STAFF CALLED IT HADDOCK, ANOTHER CALLER IT POLLOCK WHICH I BELIEVE BUT IN ANY CASE IT WAS DISGUSTING. I do not send food back to the kitchen for obvious unspeakable things that kitchen staff have been known to do to it. I do not know if other food on the menu have also been degraded, but I may never find out. A snippet for TRIPADVISOR I am sure. MR DEREK GUDE"

"Had a dinner with family. When we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday the dining room was a little quiet but by 8pm it had soon filled up. The food was phenomenal. It is slightly different to Indian food we are typically used to and in my opinion it is better. The breads were great. The curry’s were all super flavourful and trying a traditional dessert was lovely too. Alcohol is a little on the expensive side for the area. I can’t wait to return and try other things from the menu as there was so much on there that sounded so good."
