"we were in the past many paintings for dinner and Sunday dinner here, and it was always very good. sad to say something has changed. we had a nice starter, but our roast was not at all pleasant. the bubbly pork was served with...un scratched, sharp and hairy skin. the bark was overtaken and there was no possibility as we would have cooked it. (the bark may sound smoky, but that was a food store before. the braids looked like they were cooked and sweated before they were reheated, the broccoli/cauliflower was still hard. that is why we did not stay for dessert. the whole look and the feeling of the place has changed, both with the decor and the atmosphere, it felt more like a kantine than a restaurant, especially in the bar area. there is a lack of professionalism throughout, its not clean and tidy, as it was once, no personal uniform / in reasonable clothing, many young workers with an obvious lack of training. the toilets were either in stock, damaged sitting, worn donating and not as clean as they hope. we were so disappointed that we would not return."

Despite both website and sign saying Breakfast: they were not willing to serve us any food at The waitress and chef just smiled sweetly but were not interested in our custom as they were apparently on a break. Go figure.

A friend and I stopped for breakfast on our way to the races at Ludlow. The choice was excellent, and the food freshly cooked with quality ingredients. The service was attentive and friendly and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

we made a family dinner on Sunday november. that was terrible. I had laughed and peas risotto, that was watery and tasteless. my man had boars, that was all fat and was not crispy. the personal was ignorant and we were at one. cold place and no offer to move us was made. will never be disappointing again

I stayed at this pub with a friend for two days while hiking. The staff was great and the atmosphere was nice, but the food was mediocre. The curry was dry and lacked flavor. The menu indicated that the food options were more typical pub fare, which suited our needs. They did have a good variety of draft beers available.

We celebrated my wife's 60th birthday party at the Royal Forester with over 30 guests. The facilities were fantastic and family-friendly, and the buffet provided excellent value. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making for a successful afternoon. The venue made organizing the gathering stress-free and enjoyable. I would highly recommend it.

Decor nice, although a little dark. Rooms dated but functional. Maybe a little extra care taken when cleaning the bathroom, but the rest of room spotless and bed linen smelt fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice. Dinner was good...value, courses for It was a basic menu, but nice. I think the menu could be revisited, I believe they are missing a trick by not endorsing their rotisserie chicken based on value for money.

We were greeted by a young friendly and professional team who looked after us for the night stay The room was spacious and comfortable with a walk in shower. We also ate there both nights and had breakfast and the quality of the ingredients were...excellent.The full breakfast is massive and the pork sunday dinner was excellent. The ales were the usual type but they were enjoyed in a very comfy leather settee.A taxi into Bewdley is also easily organised and cost on a sunday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

sat with a red letter day voucher with my wife and my young daughter for a afternoon tea. at the arrival we were shown on our table and asked if our daughters had a separate sandwich as part of the tees for (This...was a really nice note and our daughters really enjoyed their sandwich and share the cake.) the afternoon was by far the best we had. quality ingredients and all really fresh. would highly recommend the afternoon. we had in past a meal in this restaurant and again it was clear to see and taste that quality ingredients were used. we will visit again! please support a local company that offers quality.

"Attended: Sunday 9/10/22 2 pm. Just a quick point about the actual website. It is really geared to events, and open at varying times for Sunday lunch. So, I couldn't actually find a menu. Moving on.... I told the restaurant that I couldn't have cheese in or on my food. They checked with me regarding the certain meals, which was good. Friendly welcome, and great staff. The venue lovely. We all went for the Sunday roast, except my daughter. I'll list the items, and leave the niggles at the end. 1 x Le Serre, Chardonnay £24.50 3 x Cokes 330ml 7.50 1 x pink Flamingo Cocktail £9.50 1 x Pravha £5.00 2 x S P Squid £14.80 2 x Moroccan Haloumi £14.80 1 x Confit Chicken £16.95 2 x Free Range Chicken £33.90 1 x Topside of Beef £17.95 1 x Churros £6.40 3 x Sticky Toffee Puddings £20.70 1 x Coffee Amricano £3.00 1 Double Hennessy Fine £28.00 1 x Espresso Martini £8.00 Sub Total £211.00 Service Charge £21.10 Total £232.10 I checked that the staff do get their share of the service charge, except the managers. All the starters were fine, I'd have like more chilli and had my daughters, but that's me being picky. The mains were all good, I tried my son's beef, and it was melt in your mouth, my free range chicken roast was very faloursome. The sweets were good in flavour, and son enjoyed his Churros, my wife couldn't finish her ST pudding as it was too much for her. The niggles, and no stars lost: The roast potatoes were a bit bland in tast, so not sure what fat was used at home I goose fat . They were large, and I like large roast potatoes, but I found the outside hard to cut trhough. My guess is that they are cooked up early in the day and kept warm. That's for the chef to say. The roast chicken seem to be left bereft without some stuffing. Sticky Toffee Pudding It was always was going to be a challenge as it's one of my wife's signature dishes. It was OK, but felt like just sponge and could have done with more toffee sauce. Ice cream on top, was good, being greedy, I could done with more. : The Brandy My favourite tipple at the end of a meal with a coffee. I was asked if I want cold or warm milk, Ilke being given the option. Unfortunately, the brandy was served in a cold glass and it deserved a warmer one. Cusping my had around the glass didn't really help. Would I go back? Yes. No points taken off for the niggles. An issue for the hard of hearing is that there is no soft furning to take up some of the sound, and the background music was a drone on my hearing. I have two hearing aids and the two main settings didn't help. I was picking up the loud spekers on the other tables, which made it hard for me hear right near my own family. Hearing aids tend to pick up the loudest noise. The musak was an unnecessary distraction. :"

"Arrived a few minutes early at 3.15pm for our 3.30pm booking. Very warm welcome from blonde waitress at bar. Very quickly seated by dark haired waitress with glasses who wasn 't very friendly from the start. Pub was fairly busy on arrival but soon became pretty quiet, perhaps explaining our tail end of service poor experience. Wine list had to be chased as didn 't arrive. Drinks also had to be chased. Service to actually place our order had to be chased as we were seemingly abandoned after asking for a few minutes to chose our meals after being asked for our order only a couple of minutes after arrival. Further service had to be chased from our dead zone later in the meal. These were details only, very annoying but par for the course these days sadly. The main and more significant issue was the quality of the roast beef. Tough to the point that you could not cut it. Also delivered not as requested in terms of cooking so lots of back and forth to get our meat cooked as we had asked. Numerous veg were cold or luke warm. Several yorkshire pudding way beyond crisp to the point of being burnt. Excessive salt on majority of veg. Manageress arrived fairly quickly and was initially responsive but the experience at this stage was already hugely spoiled. Replacement food was much better but by that stage we had been put off the whole lunch and to reflect this were offered 2 glasses of wine and a portion of custard to compliment our dessert! This place has been unreliable since the start of the Giles ownership. The family attitude to customers is poor. We asked for the manager to review the bill to reflect the poor experience and ended up being passed a phone to talk to the manager who had gone home. This some 3 hours after we entered the pub due to the awful experience we had encountered."
