"I had high hopes after reading the reviews ! However I am disappointed! Firstly OK No booking we just walked in and they had a wake so we took that on the chin! We could have a meal at 1pm no problem! The starter of prawns at £8.95 was Luke warm we ate it not wanting to cause a fuss after all we were a walk in. Order the pie with stem broccoli but only one available hubster ordered the burger instead ! Meals arrived pie with chips and peas (no stem broccoli) not informed of the change ! Hubster meal apparently very salty! An average meal at a high cost my opinion! Advertise free wifi no password available took a staff member 3 attempts to get us connected. On a positive note the assistant manager was lovely not her fault the pub was understaffed and no notification of the wake! Would we come back I don’t think so ! Such a shame they could getSpalding in the bag lack of high management get your act together brilliant staff just the management need to work harder!"

Restaurant was beautifully done up, food was great. Service was friendly and efficient. Drove all the way from Surrey to take my mom out for lunch.

Another great steak dinner and brilliant service at our local. Very friendly and helpful staff. Barbecue all day Saturday, whilst also serving a full menu. Very pleased to have a quality food establishment near our home.

Walk-in for Sunday lunch after we heard good things about it. We were promptly accommodated and showed to our table, pint in hand. Good meat cooked to perfection, the beef, the lamb and the pork. Big yorkie, nice trimmings. Not too busy at 1 pm, but busy enough. Good service, will be back

Went in during the lunch time, very quiet so can't really say much about the atmosphere. The food, I had the pie which was nice but I am sure it was a child's portion. It was expensive and thin come on if you are going to make a pie make it a thick one. My partner had the Lincolnshire burger which was very good and value for money. As we walked out we both said goodbye and none of the serving staff bothered to reply. Obviously you don't want people to come back?

This is the 2nd time I have been now. The first time we tried the saver menu during the week and just did a walk in. I had pie of the day and it was minted lamb very tasty. Yesterday we had a booking. We went for the roast dinner. All 3 of us really enjoyed the starters and the mains and were just too full for dessert. The portions are fantastic and you get such a good amount of meat. The staff are all very friendly and present. The restaurant has wonderful decor and I have been telling people just how nice it is there. I love that there is a nice play area outside for children to keep them occupied.

Very pleasantly surprised when we walked through the door, to find a bright, light, clean and airy interior; really very welcoming and relaxing. The bar staff were lovely, all smiling and couldn't do enough to help us with our orders. There were four of us and we went for an evening meal and, again, it was lovely. The food was really well cooked, great flavours and sensible portions (good job too, because I wasn't missing out on dessert! LOL). This place has (historically) had a reputation, but the new owners have grabbed it by the scruff of the neck and shaken it back into life, I cannot applaud them loudly enough for turning it around, it's brilliant. I'd urge anyone to give it a go and su...

"We've been here a couple of times before and it's been great, however our latest visit was not a great experience. Portions were small, presentation wasn't anything special, looked like meals I could of in nocked up myself as a quick tea at home, nothing special at all, certainly didn't look like a restaurant dining experience. Also, never come across a restaurant that stipulates on the menu if you want steak they need 48 hours notice! And even if they do, they should tell people when they book in as we had 2 of our party very disappointed on the night. The whole dining experience was also ruined by a group of loud, drunk locals sitting in the dining area and talking and swearing at the top of their voices so we couldn't even hear ourselves having a conversation. If people have paid for a dining experience no matter how bad that was, they should not have to put up with a table full of loud, swearing locals who were just there for the drink, keep the two things separate! Really dark and dingy in the restaurant, we struggled to read the menu due to how badly lit it was. The waitress started the evening by telling us what wasn't available off the menu, which in itself seemed odd at the beginning of the weekend to of already run out of so much. Needless to say this one bad experience overshadows previous good ones, it looks like the place has gone down hill, we won't be back! Must say though this is by no means a reflection of the staff they were lovely, it's on the owners!"
