Another outstanding Sunday lunch, all home cooked with the lamb being from a local farmer, even had home made mint sauce. Good local pub with friendly staff and good atmosphere. We would highly recommend.

Fantastic pub. Was saying 50 yrs from door. On girls weekend from Launceston and Portishead. Had food all 3 days, including Sunday roast. Great food and good value. Landlord and staff made us feel so welcome. Locals were also lovely. Will definitely be back soon.

Popped in for food whilst staying nearby. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Between us all, we had two pizzas, cottage pie and a lasagna. Pizzas were tasty, albeit not authentic. Lasagne was delicious, and so was the cottage pie. Overall a very enjoyable visit. View menu

Had a delicious Sunday lunch, all home cooked with locally sourced lamb. Hubby had the Beef which was very tasty. We would highly recommend this pub. So far we have eaten here a number of times and have never had a bad meal. Always freshly cooked, if you want a good local pub atmosphere and good food you can't go wrong here.

I stopped by for a quick drink as my partner remembered the place from before its current makeover. The beer was good, and the staff were friendly. The food looked decent, although it was a bit simple. It's a small local pub, so that's to be expected. It was refreshing to see the pub adapting to the needs of the community instead of just closing down and being turned into a house.

We came here Friday evening for dinner, as soon as we entered you could tell it was a proper drinkers pub and wondered if we’d make the right choice. We ordered our food, not having high expectations. I have the full rack of ribs, slaw, fries and corn on the cob, while my partner had the steak. Two days later and he still keeps mentioning how good it was. My meal was also very nice, apart from the corn was over cooked and had wrinkled up. After a long walk with two dogs and a grandson in a stroller, we were craving a good lunch. The Seven Stars saved the day and we had a wonderful meal. The staff was excellent, taking our order for four roasts which arrived promptly. The meal came with plenty of vegetables and extra gravy, satisfying our hunger. The food was so delicious that we couldn't resist having dessert, sticky toffee pudding with custard, which was really good. Thank you to the team at the Seven Stars, we now have a go-to spot after a satisfying walk.

The environment of any pub restaurant is crucial. Unfortunately this pub, at least on our visit, didn 't have any. The service was bordering on rude, lacked warmth, in no way helpful, a lack of any table service etc etc. It was as if we were an inconvenience for being there. The real irony is there is a sign at the end of the bar saying service with a smile . There was none. The food (Sunday roast) was a bit better, particularly the main, but when one of the three desserts was not available, neither were the right accompaniments for the remaining two, we were again a bit disappointed. Will not be going back.

We were searching for a good meal during a brief stop on our way to a holiday in Devon. We requested quick service, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a Saturday and the pub had a lively atmosphere with welcoming locals. Our dog was also treated with kindness. Our visit was short as we were in the middle of a long day of travel, but we highly recommend this place for a quick bite. However, we would have enjoyed a more leisurely visit as the pub is very welcoming, dog-friendly, and has a great selection at the bar. It is definitely worth the trip for either a quick stop or a longer visit. View menu
