"I took my father-in-law for lunch at The Talbot. Since the chef had left, they have decided to start serving Sunday lunches again. Currently, the food is being prepared by the staff and I must say, the starters of pate and garlic mushrooms were delicious. For the main course, I had the chicken and my father-in-law had the pork. We were both impressed when our meals arrived, even before the vegetables were served. The vegetables came in hot dishes with individual jugs of gravy, and we couldn't find any faults. We asked for an extra jug of gravy and it was no trouble at all. Throughout the entire meal, we were both complimenting how good it was and how it reminded us of a proper Sunday lunch at home. The only downside was that we couldn't curl up on the sofa afterwards with full stomachs. Even my father-in-law said it was the best Sunday dinner he's had in a long time, surpassing his previous experience at The Talbot. This time, he couldn't praise it enough. Well done to the chef and the team for a fantastic Sunday dinner."

Bullying is not acceptable, and a restaurant owner should have more sense. As an adult, one should act accordingly.

6 of us for Sunday Roast. Great food and plenty of it. They were wonderfully friendly and accommodating, even to the point that my Dad specifically asked for lumpy custard, and the chef made some specially!

This is the worst pub ever. It is a total waste of money and the owner seems to have completely lost it. They probably forgot that it is a business. I'm not sure, but I would recommend avoiding this place. You'll thank me later.

Decided to try fish and chips friday, after having sunday lunch a couple of times with family and a Saturday lunch, the fish was haddock which I not keen on, but it was really nice, came with garden peas which also not keen on but ate them OK mixed in with the fish. Had a side of cheesy garlic bread which had plenty of cheese and was very yummy. Overall I cannot say I have had a bad meal at all. The chef is very good at her job and very engaging with customers. Had Sunday lunch here, ordered the roast beef. I got the impression the beef was not freshly cooked and sliced as the gravy it was in was different to the additional gravy that came for the vegetables, suggesting it was prepacked. My party were also disappointed by the pudding, it was a chocolate pudding with cream and it was clearly shop bought as the wedge was tiny, less than I would serve to a child, and it cost £5. The service was however very good and the staff were all friendly.

We went with my Brother and his Wife as they were staying at Blacklands campsite for the weekend and they could bring their dog which was good. We all had the roast beef when it came looked good the yorkshires were large. The thing that let our meal down was the veg, it was shredded carrots which I have never seen served up that way for a roast also the greens I do not know what they were but they were very hard to chew. The beef was very tough and hard to chew. The staff were very friendly. You do not mind paying for a meal if its good but the price my Brother paid for the meal you expect it to be good. Its a shame as I will not be going back and would not recommend it.
