"If there 's more than a dozen customers give the food a wide birth. Poor catering staff just can 't cope! 45 minute wait, cold jacket potato but warm cucumber funnily, small fish more a goujon, batter burnt as usual, unstirred crusty mushy peas still in the shape of the ramikin they were microwaved in. Tired, dirty looking place. Possibly worst Spoons in UK! Go to one at Beverley, see how it should be done."

Building is a stunner and the architecture recalls when Hull was quite an economic power landing Whale,Fish and Goods from all over the old Empire. Worth visiting just for that! Beers well kept and cheap, food cheap and tasty.

Staff polite. Beer price competitive. Toilets in poor condition. Breakfast appeared reheated, beans congealed and dry on top, overcooked small egg looked like plastic, portions tiny, very poor value, plate/meal lukewarm, got refund.

Curry night, we don't normally complain but for the last three or four times we ordered onion bargi and they are burnt. Told member of staff who just walked away and did nothing. Love the place just need staff to be more sympathetic.

Told there was no pizza whilst ordering so went for a panini. Came burnt with very little cheese inside. No chips. My daughter got the same thing. Burnt, crispy with no cheese. Paid £17 altogether and left feeling very disappointed and hungry

Absolutely sold on Wetherspoons for food since a colleague introduced me a few months ago. What can I say, cheap ale, cheap but really tasty food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. This is a really large pub, but copes very well with keeping the orders moving.

We always come here when we are in hull and are never disappointed, which is why we come here. The staff are helpful and friendly which is good. Food is always good and there is plenty of choice. It's in the town which is really good so yes we will be back when in the area.

We can for breakfast before going for my daughters graduation. The breakfast was cold. When I was able to order off the child’s meal it was lovely. The ice cream pot was a different story. It was so far off it was running clear. This is a massive risk of the growth of dangerous bacteria. When I told the bar man his reply was ok. No apology. He didn’t even look shocked.

A girl with pink hair was very rude. We went outside to respect the smoking policy. As we arrived back at our table she came over and was extremely rude at the fact we didn’t stay at our table. After finally receiving our food and drink she stood with another member of staff laughing in our direction clearly laughing at us. Not good customer service at all coming from someone who works in hospitality

"Decided to go for a nice lunch out as weather was nice, walked into restaurant which was freezing (colder than what it was out side), we were seated directly in front of the open door and the draft was so cold. I asked for the door to be shut, I was told they can’t shut the door and we were told to move to the table behind, which was still in line with the door, defeating the object of moving. I asked to sit in the corner of the restaurant and was told no as it had to be a table of 2 we were seated at. I asked another member of staff to shut the door and they said no because it is too hot for the members of staff who were “running” around, even though it was really quiet. I explained that i don’t want to eat in a freezing cold restaurant that’s drafty as my food will get cold. I was told to put my jacket on by a member of staff, which had an extremely rude tone to it , and also why would I want to sit and eat a meal with my jacket on? She said if we don’t want to be cold, we can go eat elsewhere and gave us 5 minutes decide whether we wanted to order food. By the time They brought our drinks over, we said we were going to leave, they asked us to pay for our drinks that we hadn’t touched, we declined due to the staff failing to accommodate to us and being rude. The fact they would rather us leave than simply close the door or move us to a different table is disgusting and I felt that because I am a young person, they felt like they could belittle me. This is a real shame as the food and drinks here are really nice, but I’m not going to give my money to a restaurant who only accommodate to their staffs needs and not the customers. They could’ve easily shut the door or moved us out of line with the door, absolutely ridiculous and awful service."
