"We’ve been to the Trooper several times recently and it’s now one of our favourite pubs, always with a warm welcome. A lovely village setting makes for a very relaxed atmosphere. The landlord and landlady couldn’t possibly be more friendly and accommodating. The food is always good, and there’s plenty of it. No skimping on portions here! And to top it all, they stock my favourite flavoured gin, which is more than I can say about most other pubs we visit! We just wish we lived nearer so that we could get to the Trooper more often. Looking forward to our next visit, and are hoping to catch one of the live music events there soon."

great pub, very friendly, the heart of the picturesque village. most reviews on Google maps reflect previous peculiarities. the facilities and offers have improved considerably and continued during the challenges of covid.

We had a lovely meal and drinks out in the garden at this pub. The food was great and an amazing selection of gins! We stayed at the campsite which was clean and peaceful. I will definitely return here and have already recommended it to other family members

The new owners of this delightful country pub have embraced the community and have produced a hidden gem. A decent uncomplicated menu with a great choice at good old fashioned pub food to cheese boards with a bottle of wine Very polite staff and a great atmosphere. Live entertainment on selected evenings through the month. Plenty of outside seating with coverage.

Popped in today for coffee and it didn’t take long to decided we’d stop for a Sunday Roast. Landlady made us feel very welcome. Roast was lovely. Great pub at the heart of the village. Even the local vicar (or canon) popped in. We walked the village after and EVERYONE we saw took time to say hello!!!! This village is a gem and the pub is clearly a great part of the village. I can’t wait to return on a chilly winters day. Thank you.

Perfect place for a celebration . I got in touch with The Trooper Inn to enquire about holding a surprise party for a friend. Debbie was in contact with me several times to help with arrangements and they offered a great buffet spread for a very reasonable price. On the night we cane in to decorate our party area and Debbie came to check how we wanted to do things. The whole night was perfect and the guest of honour was thrilled. Thank you so much to your team and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

spenta wonderful bank holiday Monday lunch here today. extensive drinks menu with very good and very local real ales, the old george enjoyed. excellent service of joe and a menu that is on our different flavors. both the cheeseburger and the vegetarian burger were very tasty and for a good appetit more than sufficient. which had been put in the beetroot and brie tart and the gluten-free variation of the same, both served with well dressed and fresh salate. and were received very well. we will be back soon and can only hope that a similarly excellent pub in our village of milborne port.

"The Museum Inn, located in Farnham, Nr. Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 8DE We booked late on Friday night and only one room was available so it was meant to be! We arrived around 5pm and were greeted by friendly staff, shown to our room The Catch and made a reservation for dinner, luckily they still had spaces for dinner but it is advised to book in advance. Lovely spacious room and bathroom, kettle, teas, coffees and bottled water supplied. I have to say I fell in love with the hand wash and hand cream, I have already purchased some for home, the brand is called Bramley and the scent is Lavender, Geranium and Petitgrain. The bed is probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in that is not our own, soft feather pillows that were just right! Dinner was a three course meal and it was delicious, we took 2 hours to eat but never felt rushed or like we were waiting too long between courses. Starters: Ham hock terrine with sourdough toast and Prawn, potato and crayfish fishcakes. Mains: Burger and Steak Ale pie Desserts: Chocolate Brownie with cherry sorbet. Biscoff donuts with pumpkin pie ice cream Drinks: Poretti lager and Cherry cocktail. Breakfast: Eggs Royale and Smashed avocado, poached egg and bacon, absolutely scrumilicious! Big thanks to Amanda who served us this morning and checked us out. Highly recommend staying and eating here and we will 100% be back again! Safe travels! The Allsebrooks x"
