"We popped in as it was cold outside, having never been in the place before. As we approached the bar, not knowing where to sit, we were directed to a large open area, which was usually used as a disco, all of the tables placed...around the walls. To say the atmosphere was cold would be an understatement.. we were the only customers in the dining room; the bar area appeared quite full. The barman came in and switched on 2 TV 's, 2 different channels! We were quickly asked for our orders, and these were served in good time. We had the Italian chicken and a quiche from a varied and informative menu. We cleared our plates, the food was good, although apart from piles of lettuce, the salad was poor, just a wedge of tomato and a slice of cucumber. We didn 't know where to leave a tip, so went to the bar to pay and see if there was a gratuity plate; we were called back by the waitress who informed me that cards were not being taken, their system was down! The stickers on the entrance door showed that cards were acceptable and this should have been amended. We didn 't have enough cash to pay, so asked where there was a cashpoint, we were visiting the town, and were directed to the Spar shop across the road. I went outside but could not see a Spar shop, it was around a corner. I drew out some cash from the cash point, and had to pay 95p for the privilege. That was the tip sorted anyway, we wouldn 't be giving one. We paid and left, still being the only customers. Once we had walked past the Spar shop, several banks came into view, with cash points that were free to use. Whilst the food was quite tasty and good value, Louth is quite lucky to have many eateries within a small area and next time we visit, The Turks Head will not be on our itinerary."

Sent for lunch, good menu, service a little erratic. Didn't take debit card. So I had to wait whilst hubby went for cash. I requested a glass of cider, and was given a pint! Not brilliant but food adequate.

whoever the barman yesterday 17/7/21 at 17 o'clock he was very arrogant and rude, he must seriously get some people skills, I will not go again when he works a layer. I thought rick would have better taste in the bar he was busy.

Visited Louth for the market while we were close to Mablethorpe. We only intended to stop for a quick drink, but ended up staying for two! The interior was very nice with comfortable sofas. The service was good, and the Aspall cider was the best I've ever had. A visit well worth it. View menu

unfortunately the pub does not do any real ales, so our selection of drinks was limited. the toilets stank and were dirty. I suspect, however, that this place is more directed to younger customers and later becomes more alive on the day (we went on a Friday dinner and it was left). unnecessarily say we had 1 drink and moved on!

Whilst looking for somewhere to eat recently, we had the misfortune to walk into The Turks Head. Started looking at the menu but.......the smell of the toilets took your breath away! Needless to say, didn 't stay. The staff were amazed when I commented. Nobody else...has mentioned it . Really? Not good enough in todays day and age!

Went on Friday 6th December and was not disappointed. Had their Christmas dinner. 2 courses for £12.50 including a drink. I was ALL home made even the Yorkshire pudding. It was very tasty. The veg. was cooked but not overcooked, the turkey was succulent and...the roasties, mashed potatoes stuffing etc were all very tasty. It was a proper meal. The pudding consisted of either Christmas pudding or a chocolate type pudding. They were both moist and delicious. The food was piping hot. Overall we were highly satisfied with the food and price. Thank you View menu

I recently visited a restaurant near me, which I had never heard of before. When I asked if they were dog-friendly, I was thrilled to find out that they were. The first thing that struck me was how clean and welcoming the restaurant was, and the staff were very friendly and courteous. I ordered three meals for dinner, and the wait time was reasonable. The seating was a bit low, but still comfortable. The meals were well-sized and served hot, and the tea and coffee were also hot and fresh, unlike some other places I have been to. I will definitely be returning to this place.

After more than a decade, my family and I returned to Louth and decided to dine at The Turk's Head, where I used to bring my sons for meals during our previous visits for the orthodontist. To our delight, the food was even better than we remembered from all those years ago. I ordered the fresh fish, perfectly battered to my liking, and it was absolutely delicious. My boys also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The portion sizes were generous and the food tasted fresh and made to order, right down to the homemade onion rings. Julie, the chef, was delightful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Louth!

"Booked stayed at this place very recently having read the excellent reviews. As a very level headed person, certainly not delusional I failed in trying to recognise or match the place based on any of the reviews posted on Booking.com The place, whilst very quaint appealing from the outside is in direct contrast to the inside! In reality, it 's very much in dire need of deep cleaning, redecorating and refurbishing. The food, not sure who prepared the meals in the reviews I read, but fail to see how it could be the same chef as the one that cooked ours! Our meals arrived no less than 40 minutes after ordering. The drinks to occupy us while we waited never did arrive when our meals finally arrived served (if slapping on the table warrants being called served three out of the five items that made up the meal were uncooked, cold unedible! The excuse given by the waitress, is far too busy and understaffed, yet despite not being able to fulfil the job paid for, they still take fee paying guests who are treated far less than second class citizens to the regular clientele supping at the bar! Far too busy but not enough to stop them from taking longer than necessary to laugh talking to the regulars! Needless to say, we ate at other places for the rest of our stay. DO NOT BE FOOLED, as we were by the reviews, which have stayed are extremely questionable indeed! If one is used to using hostels I can see this could be deemed as good, if not excellent accommodation. On the flip side, if one is used to hotels that are clean customer focused then this hotel (a grand name for nothing more than a public house with accommodation not a very good or pleasant one at that is not the one for you!!"
