"Tried to book for 5 friends for a Saturday afternoon. Was advised we could not book. Arrived at 3.50pm and told full. We asked how long the wait was and told approx an hour. Sat outside in the cold in a gazebo with 2 heaters. After over an hour of checking, no sign of an indoor table so we decided to eat outside. We were huddled around a small table so took another small table so that we could eat comfortably. A really rude manager flew over and told us we couldn't have the table. We explained we wanted to eat and other people had done the same. She wasn't interested and removed the table embarrassing !! I asked for the bill and she told me the card machine was inside. We went a couple of doors down to The Blue Mango and had impeccable service unlike the dreadful attitude of the manager in the Wine Club."

Visited on several occasions and always great service lovely wine and food. Clearly a popular venue so much so that people are happy to sit outside in the gazebo and wait to be seated. Had the sharing platter pizza and wine, we ordered way too much and the staff advised that we could take home what we hadn’t finished.

Very dissatisfied, the food was ok, but a medium glass of Malbec was £9.50, the staff were very pleasent, but are asking you all the time if more drinks are required. It was very noisy! Table s to close together, to get as many people in as possible, dont mind paying for a nice glass of wiine if it is in a more comfortable setting.

Went for a wine tasting event and the food and wine were great. Absolutely loved all the food and will be trying to replicate some this weekend myself. The wines were also great and bought a few to take back. The service was amazing and have been many times before and exactly the same. Can’t fault anything at all. My favourite place in Rainhill

Haven't been for a while, food usually good but disappointing this time... had cheese sharing board... all OK except for the bread, it seemed a bit stale when I picked it up, so didn't eat it myself, but my friend did. When the plates were taken away at the end of the meal, I noticed mould on the crusts... No excuse!... waiter said he wouldn't charge for the bread not very apologetic.... Won't be returning. Always visit the Wine Club when in area. Love the food, ambience, staff and ease of booking online. Also you can just do walk in if passing. Excellently ran by owners and never had any issues. Also they have a shop opposite with wonderful drink, food and gifts. Outside eating area too with efficient heater in winter, great also to sit outside in warmer months and enjoy the cool lager or wine of your choice.

Attended the Mothers Day Extravaganza (bottomless prosecco pizza) and it was definitely a 5* visit! Couldn't fault a single thing. Well Done Wine Bar for delivering what you promised. The entertainment was on point, your singer/guitarist read the clientele really well, the pizzas (gluten free and veggie included) were delicious and not once did we have to ask for a top up of drinks (soft drinks included for our designated driver)

Very rude member of staff who has obviously got no sense of humour. We have eaten here many times before but certainly will not be returning anytime soon. Arrived around twelve thirty on a Friday afternoon and asked if any tables free, staff member was on the phone at back of the room and gave me a look that could kill. Told to sit anywhere but could tell the atmosphere was tense. The same member of staff then preceded to shout across the room at us, it was at this time we felt it prudent to leave and will not be going back as they do not deserve my hard earned cash. Think some customer service training is in order. View menu

Pre booked a table for a Wednesday evening and glad we did as the place was quite full. Once again we went for the small pizzas rather than the small plates , must try the small plate dishes on our next visit as they sound ideal and looking at the dishes coming out from the kitchen they look delicious too. Good choice of pizzas with varied toppings we were both well pleased , the only issue we had was the tomato salad had way to much Balsamic dressing , I like a good balsamic dressing but this was way to much for our tastes. All in all a great little venue with quality food and a good choice of wines all at a very resonable price. Repeat visit is on the cards.

What a lovely evening. Was recommended by a friend and didn’t disappoint. Very good wine selection which is no surprise. Ordered a pizza between 4 and 5 small plates between us. Was spoiled for choice as the whole menu and specials sounded lovely. Lots of my favourite food. Food was delicious but a little awkward with the small table so all the dishes couldn’t come together. I understand it is only a small place but I think could accommodate some more larger tables for more than 2 guests. Overall the was very enjoyable and will definitely visit again with my partner. The French martini was a little too sweet but that’s just my taste and prefer less chambord. Would try others next time.
