"The food was delicious, plentiful and also inexpensive. Especially the beverage prices are more than fine. The door closer is very rustic. We sat inside and there it was very nice, but also the beer garden that could not convince us at least in the evening at about 9 a.m. (may be that it is beautiful during the day, and also the attic where you can eat. We found he looked like a storage room, but this is certainly a matter of taste. However, the service has given the rash for only 4 stars. No one came to the table for eternity to bring us the menu or order of drinks. Then we had the card and had to wait again until the order could be given up, and in the end it also took incredibly long until the bill we had made. The waiter was otherwise very sweet and wanted us to stay healthy. In these times very beautiful."

I was there in August 2020. Since the restaurant was already well occupied, I was offered a place right at the well in the Haues. The service was friendly and snoring, the drinks and the food came quickly. The steak was very tasty. I can recommend the Gate Lock House.

A very good old German restaurant in good downtown location with excellent cuisine. Great delicious portions at reasonable prices in a pleasant decor. If you are visiting with several people, prior registration is recommended. This restaurant is a good enrichment for the city. View menu

the seaweed (choll) fish tasted very fresh, the bratkartoffeln were delicious. it is a very picturesque and small place with everywhere hidden tables. because we had no reservations, we sat with oskar, a 10 year old fish character, at the bar. He was really a nice companion. a lot of cozyness here, and the staff was very nice.

Arrived as a group of without a reservation, the staff quickly sat us at a large table and when extras arrived placed another table alongside ...this despite the restaurant being busy. We had the fish dishes, the four steak meal, steak meals and...the schnitzel, all the meals were delicious. the portions were generous. We had a selection of deserts....all yummy!!! The waitresss was helpful and gave us an English menu. Service was friendly and efficient. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

"hidden in the city wall is this rustic restaurant in stralsund. in the entrance area welcome trembling the courageous gast, candlesticks just illuminate such a walk with old wooden beams that leads into the tummy gast house. medieval music accompany one on the way to the table. There, you will receive from a stylishly dressed slender maid and immediately receive a trough with fresh water to wash the hands - because you definitely need it.The card is clear, the prices are very favorable. who asks how to offer so cheap blackshaxen and consorts, receives the answer immediately after the order. because the view into the open kitchen reveals that everything is frozen, which is only warmed up in many times. but: 1. Who tells me that in more expensive restaurants behind closed kitchen doors isn't that? and 2. damned, it still tastes! The whole atmosphere is harmonious, the personal makes with guests and among themselves jokes and one thinks: "It could have happened a few hundred years ago." Eating is then served on a wooden tray - to cut you get an en dolch. the fork is in vain. The freshly washed hands are available for this.As a drink you can even be rich for a fair price a cup met.Everything really recommended for people who appreciate the medieval tafeley and have no pleasure or opportunity to join a large group. This is usually the basic requirement for such food. Here you sit like normal in the restaurant - only that everything is medieval."

"came to lunch on a rainy day. not much eat in the offer, but decided to go to cake and to drink something. good location, close to the most famous house and the church in stralsund. and very sweet staff. and totally incompetent :-) we were asked to order at the table. but the sweetest waiter (no, I do not sweat:)- never came to our table. so back to theke, where we encourage the attention of the waiter, ask three cakes, a coffee and two fritz cola. So comes the coffee, no cola, and two of the cakes are of the wrong sort. no wonder they had four different to choose;-) and since the colas do not come, I go back to the counter and want the banana cake. I know I said it in very bad German, and my way of saying banane must be quite wrong :-) so now we have everything in a big table where the half of the table still has everything from the last guests. I don't care, I've got a place, but the poor Italian man who came in and used the other end of the table must have thought that it was anything but perfect. time to pay. Please, please, please pay them with card. our waiter gave the perfect expression and a loud sigh. I felt that I had just asked her to jump into a muddy pool, and she had to do it. her face expression was worth the whole visit :-) on the bill of course are four fritz cola, both the two I got, as well as the two that have forgotten her, and of course it cost an extra cake. well, close enough, and if someone reads from the personal, please give tourists a glass and the Cola bottle. we don't want a little look-alike-caola in the glass, we want the Fritz-Cola experience! :-) a lot of luck keeping the cool things and improving the bad ones."
