"Visit with my husband. Very good dishes, typical tuscan food very well prepared. It last a bit too long to serve them."

"Dopolavoro has been through several changes of ownership in the last 15 years and this latest refresh bodes well. The location is a few minutes walk from the Piazza and with ample terraces this is a prime summer location and has been made more cozy in the winter. Our 'average ' rating errs on the side of caution we 'd really describe it as 'good ' but not quite 'very good '. To be fair, it 's really only been open for several weeks. The menu is based around local foods and presentation. For starters we had an over ample plate of various local sliced meats, and my wife had an interesting starter with 3 local variations of cooked and sauced organ meats which were all well cooked and seasoned. We shared a plate of pasta with funghi porchi: there was a limited variety of meats available as grilled meat: we shared at tagliata (grilled steak, sliced) with funghi porchini (the other menu choice with tagliata with salsa tartufi) which at the end of the day was our error too much funghi porcini. As an afterthought they will do the tagliata with a bit of rocket on the side which is much more sensible. The food is good and portions for a trencherman but could use just a touch of refinement to take it from good to very good. I suspect that this will be part of the settling in process.Prices are fair mid range. The house red was good; there is a full wine list and artiginal beers available. Service was attentive and friendly and we wish the new team the best of luck. We 'll be back."
