"It’s quite hard to find somewhere to eat on the high street in Hook, but we saw the Waggon and Horses and went in. Unfortunately the kitchen had literally just closed for lunch (it closes at 2.30pm) but the lady behind the bar checked with the kitchen and they were happy to cook for us. Lunch was delicious! The chips were amazing, great portion size. There were open fires in both bars (very welcome as it was a bitterly cold day) and the staff were lovely. I would highly recommend this pub."

This is what a pub should be like. Great atmosphere, full of village locals and a proper landlord who knows what he is doing. 10/10.

Had lunch at the Waggon. Cheeseburger and chips was excellent. Very tasty and filling. Did not have any today, but Bitcombe bitter on draft. Card payments accepted.

Called in for drinks. Excellent pints of Courage Best. Doom Bar was also on tap, but did not notice this until I was leaving. Sat in the beer garden for a while, and then moved to the Saloon bar. Locals pub, very popular. Recommended. View menu

Traditional pub in the heart of the village. Met some friends for drinks. Good range of real ales including Butcome and Gales HSB. Guinness on draught too. Two bars, public and saloon. Nice roaring fire in the small saloon bar. Always a few local characters in this pub.

Had a cheeseburger and chips and it was delicious. Real beef 1/4 pounder, salad filling, was really a generous portion. Proper thick cut docker chips. Outstanding. Good range of beers on tap. Had a Butcombe bitter which was lovely. Friendly service and lots of seating in the garden under cover, so COVID safe. This is a well run pub, and the landlord is highly respected in the village.

Excellent Beer Festival for the Jubilee Celebrations, well attended on Friday as was our day on Saturday. Live Music was entertaining, great weather, marque in rear garden with seats all filled. Beers and Ciders were very well enjoyed. Great Village pub, very few of these left now, always a warm welcome from the Staff, Thank you all, Special thanks to Landlord Kasey and Lee-Anne for your unquestionable hospitality, See you Soon View menu

Been coming for years but now has really hit its stride. Great range of ales, new ones to try every couple of weeks, fairly priced too. Public and saloon bar, nice beer garden (patio not grass), smokers hit and although lots of local regulars, always has curious visitors, sent on their way with a yarn and a smile. Great landlord and staff, open fires burning any time it’s cooler than 12c, dogs very welcomed. May it last a 1,000 years

Having parked our bikes right outside, we had an excellent lunch on the very spacious patio at the back. The patio is covered with an awning which makes dining outside possible even when raining. Super service from our waiter and the chef came out to ask if my gluten-free adapted meal was alright for me. Well filled chicken and bacon sandwich with home-made potato crisps was delicious I was told, and the fish and chips were also very good. Relaxed atmosphere. Recommend a visit.
