"While this restaurant may be a bit of a trek from the city center, it's worth a visit if you want to escape the crowds. I tried the Bergfex (Bavarian duck and roast pork with red cabbage, potato dumpling, and bread dumpling) along with a Russ'n (wheat beer with lemonade). The Bergfex had delicious flavors that I really enjoyed, although I'm not a fan of the dumplings. A tip for first-time visitors in Germany: sitting outside is nice, but be prepared for flies and bees trying to share your meal and drink. The service was attentive and the waiter checked on me frequently. I would definitely recommend this place!"

It's a traditional Bavarian Restaurant with a Good Atmosphere and Delicious Bavarian dishes. Although they have very little or maybe no options for chicken lovers :

A very nice place to eat once you have done with the Deutsches Museum, it is far from the museum less than 10 minutes by foot. They have the possibility to eat in or out.

Amazing friendly service and the food was spectacular! Would highly recommend the duck, the Schnitzel, as well as the trio of Knödel! They also have a great selection of beers to choose from.

Sitting outside was beautiful, festoon lighting. We sampled the 3 dumplings to share and the Bavarian steak. Both were delicious. Service was efficient and very polite. Though the location was a little out of our way, it was worth it to experience true Bavarian meals.

Amazing from start to finish! Incredible traditional German food, with a exceptional service. We were offered an English menu straight away. Our food came out so quickly, full of flavour. Definitely a must visit while in Munich. Efgan was our waiter, he was so lovely and friendly. Best service we have had our whole trip!

Incredible! It was the best meal we had in Munich. The service was outstanding and they even accommodated us without a reservation. (We were unsure about getting one and will definitely do so next time). Our server was very friendly and gave us excellent recommendations. We will definitely return on our next visit to Munich! P.S. Try the duck and pork combination. You won't be disappointed.

My first night in Munich and had to go to closest Bavarian restaurant to my hotel. A pleasant short walk from Hilton. Since I was alone I was sat at the bar. This was a blessing since the bartender was great both with service as well as advice. I got the Bergfex and it was a well portioned meal of various delicacies duck, roast pork, dumplings to name a few. Bartender also recommended good Octoberfest specialty beer. I am definitely coming back and stay at the bar!

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in Germany! I celebrated my birthday here with family and friends and it was truly an amazing experience. The waiters and staff are super attentive and they really care about giving you a top-notch service. The food was incredible, and the portion sizes are good. Best of all, they celebrated my birthday with sparklers and got the entire restaurant to sing happy birthday! Vielen Dank Wirtshaus in der Au for making this day super special! : Highly recommended for a traditional Bavarian dinner.

The restaurant has a fantastic ambiance and the service is quick and efficient. I ordered the steak and was impressed by how well it was presented and the delicious flavors. The staff are all in uniform and the menus are available in both German and English, with the waiters speaking both languages. The hostess was quick, polite, well-dressed, and professional in seating all the guests. I recommend making a reservation as the restaurant fills up quickly due to the high-quality food and management. This is a definite must-visit for dinner or breakfast while in Munich.
