"The purchase was finished, but the next appointment was only in just two hours. Driving home was pointless, as the appointment was still further away from home north of the NOK (North East Canal). So the opportunity to go back to a cafe. My proposal, the Schiffercafe in Kiel-Holtenau, was enthusiastically accepted by Madame. She already knew this place, I haven't. We found a parking lot right before the access to the Tiessenkai and went the small piece to the cafe. At the entrance no one was seen by the staff, a sign at the counter announced “self-service!”, four of the five tables in the main guest room were occupied. We immediately took the fifth table in fitting, and while Madame solved an urgent disposal problem, I saw the panels described with chalk next to and behind the vault. It only took a look at the cake offerings behind the glass pane, then the case was clear for me (even if Günter Neutze hasn't solved criminal cases for years now. When Madame then returned to the table in a simple way, I pointed them to my favorites. This time she was “dran”, waited at the counter for operation and then ordered two cappuccino (each 3,00 € and two pieces of dark cherry cake (each 2,40 €). The cake pieces were placed promptly on plates, we had to wait a few minutes for the products of the scuba and smoky coffee machine. Finally, the machine was finished and we were able to receive our coffee specialities in our own cups. On top there was an extremely stable milk foam, the sweetening pills had to be sunk with the help of the spoon. The cappuccino was really good and with a strong coffee taste, the cherry cake tasted even better than it looked. So it's decided. Our table stood right at the window, so we had not only the interior well in sight, but also the events at the dock. And there it went round, in succession several Dutch traditional sailors placed right in front of the door. From one of the old ships a whole school class crawled down, split up the remaining proviant and was then picked up by Mom or Dad or both. It was quite amusing for us. When the Oslo ferry came out from the village, it was time for us to leave this hospitable place."

"Since 2005, this Italian restaurant has established itself in the former sprayhouse of the voluntary fire brigade and enjoys a good reputation in the area. We hadn't done it yet, but now we met with friends. On our arrival, the approximately ten pitches were completely occupied in front of the restaurant, but we found a place for our companion in front of the neighboring house. In front of the house some tables were occupied, but the weather was not really suitable for a place on the sun. When we arrived, we were kindly greeted by a young operator, on the question of our reserved table she said we were already expected. And right, we found our friends at a table right in the neighboring room behind a separating curtain. After the joyful greeting we found, the ladies immediately deepened into an enthusiastic conversation, while the gentlemen devoted themselves to the essential things and studied the menus on the table. The offer of the kitchen can be fully viewed on the restaurant's homepage: [here link] It took a while until the main service, a lady with Italian roots and light accent came to our table to pick up the order. The drinks were mixed in color: Madame ordered a bottle of mineral water (0.7 l San Pellegrino for 6,00 €, her friend a black beer from the bottle, her husband a great pilgrim and finally I am a soft white beer (0.5 l for 4,30 €). Our friends then ordered a part of Bruschetta for both (7,50 €), when the main dish ordered them a pizza “Silvio” with fresh salmon, deep sea crabs, tuna and garlic (11,50 €), he had ordered a pizza “Sören” with sharp salami and Gonzola (10,50 €). I myself had found favors on "Tagliatelle Scampi e Gamberetti" (11,00 €). The service thanked and disappeared towards the Treses, but came back after a few minutes and served the drinks. In the meantime, the guest room gradually filled out (almost the last place I find quite remarkable for a Tuesday night. However, the tables remained empty in front of the house, with the exception of some smokers. Shortly afterwards the operation brought a large plate with five rather large roasted bread slices with a thick layer of tomato cubes. Not only the garlic on it, but also the herbs used spread a harmonious aroma, and the two were almost full of the appetizer alone. The decor of the guest room is relatively simple, the furniture is made of dark wood, on the naked table tops no tablecloths or sets. The squares were covered with cutlery and folded napkins, and on each table there was a small vase with a flower. After a relatively long waiting period, the service only brought the dish with the obviously self-made ravioli for Madame, then followed in the second course the pizzas for our friends and then finally also a great moderator with my noodle dish. The pizzas of our friends were quite large, ovaler than round and so obviously made by hand and had a crispy edge. Both were very happy with their food. On Madame's plate, the crabs in the sauce showed themselves in a very large number, their ravioli tasted excellent. I also had the band noodles both medium-sized and small crabs in not small numbers in a fruity tomato sauce, which also contained some cherry tomatoes. This food was also very good, and we were fed without appetizers. This was certainly not the last visit to this restaurant."
