"we celebrated the birthday of a good friend in this restaurant, which was highly recommended. the food was exceptionally fresh and tasty and specialized in seafood. I was very pleased with the service and food supply. they began with a appetizer worthy amuse bouche of fresh crumb meat croquette and delicate Scottish smoked salmon with a shot of a lobster bisque. really very generous and very tell what the rest of the meal will be. we had the grilled garnel cup, which washed all the table. I wish I had more order. it was smokey and sweet, which is always very hard to garnel with low quality. I had the halibut filet that made me realize how I missed my whole life when it comes to how halibut should taste. it was great and I wouldn't have asked for a better escape, except maybe after dessert, that was a flight of cream brulee. it was textbook perfect and very satisfying. the rest of the table divided into a very nice cheese plate. it was delicious and really presented taste of the Scottish milk. the other filigree thing at this charming restaurant, which is like a lighthouse at the end of the bay it is near the beach and we had a wonderful walk after wards. the sea was wild and the water boiled with the drain, which increases the food experience in contrast to everything else. this restaurant is so good that it is almost worth going to jadeen, just to this restaurant. almost. this restaurant is really sweet and it unravels a great hug every time they go."

"The restaurant was empty when we arrived for our reservation. We were not attended to as promptly as we should have been. Another table was seated not too long after us and were served right away. When a restaurant is as empty as this with plentiful staff, service should have been much better. Our plates were not cleared or changed after each course. We had to ask for this. With food this pungent and flavorful, plate changes should be a given. We also had to repeatedly ask for water. There was a very cursory explanation of each dish, and the recitations were rushed and rote. The dishes were so unusual, it would have been nice if the servers acted as if they cared. When Chef Sully appeared, we were very excited to have the opportunity to perhaps speak with him. He spoke with the staff, then stopped by the only other table in the restaurant. For some reason, he did not come over to our table. We had really wanted to meet him, so I asked if he was still around and was told by a staff member that he was just outside. In fact, he was not. As for the food, it was sublime. The care in creating every dish and every plate was obvious. The beef tendons were truly outstanding, accompanied by the pancetta tomato ragu and and a flavorful oyster mushroom mayo foam. My favorite was the cucumber salad graced with mango, coconut and buttery sunflower seeds. Wow! My only culinary complaint is that every dish with oyster mushrooms was far too heavily salted and many dishes contained these. Also, the lamb dish was prepared primarily with lamb that consisted of only gristle and fat. The misses were serious."

"A friend and I visited Lafleur during the restaurant 's visit to the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen in June 2023. Two menu options were available: a 7 course full vegan menu or an 8 course menu including two non vegan dishes. We chose the latter together with wine pairings including 7 glasses of German wine. A selection of four snacks were served (with a glass of Ruinart rose Champagne in addition to the wine pairings) including beetroot (as a shot as well as a tartare topped with wasabi cream), a chive tart and a bread pillow with fillings of orange blossom cream. All very delicious and indeed a good start. The menu kicked off with one large white aspargus with tomato concasse and potato salad. The aspargus being cooked to perfection and especially the tomatoes were really tasty. This was followed by a bread serving (named Winschgauer bread) with as substitute to butter a cream including seven herbs. Next followed variations on carrot (a cooked carrot and a carrot cream). I liked the detail with the sesame seeds on top adding texture to the dish. The following dish was a selection of mushrooms: as raviolo, marinated and a broth. I am a huge fan of mushrooms and was definitely not disappointed. The following two dishes were the non vegan options: first a large langoustine with a slightly spicy (but very balanced) sauce including tandoori and bell peppers as well as green aspargues. Meat followed: veal filet as an addition to the otherwise full vegan dish including new peas, celery, and a lovely sauce. Then two desserts. a refreshing pre dessert with pickled peaches served as a shot followed by an extraordinary beautifully looking plate with rhubarbs and strawberries, ice cream and crumble on top. We finished with coffee and were each given a small box with delicious sweets, which could either be enjoyed with the coffee or taken home. Wine pairings were great, all German wines including 5 white wines, 1 red and a sweet wine. The service was excellent and very personal. We really felt comfortable and at home being taken so good care of by everyone. Being used to the prices in Copenhagen the final bill was almost ridiculously low, as only one person would be able to dine in a local two star restaurant for the price we paid for two people at Lafleur. Having never eaten vegan food before I was indeed pleasantly surprised. Lafleur runs a light and refined kitchen, which was very suitable for a warm summer evening. With the limits of not using any dairy products, fish or meat for the vegan dishes, I believe the kitchen has done a remarkably great job in finding other ways to create top food; maybe I will not convert to a vegan I like meat/fish/dairy products too much but this was a great introduction to a different culinary world. Now I have a good reason to go to the restaurant in Frankfurt to experience their classic cooking I can only imagine it must be equally great. Highly recommended and thank you to the staff at Lafleur pop up in Copenhagen."

"Date: 30th August 2024 Cost: £110 tip for two I’d wanted to come back to Bincho ever since the very first beautiful mouthful of my first visit. Those juicy, tender, skewered salty morsels had been consuming my every waking thought since, and like the most depraved of addicts I had been concocting increasingly vile and nefarious plans to ensure a return. So it was that I felt no guilt manipulating Dad into coming down here for our latest father son meal out instead of going up to see him in London, reverse engineering aspects of the visit he’d particularly like in order to paint the suggestion as thoughtful and personal: “you’ll really like it: it’s a grilled meats place and we can go for a nice walk along the seafront to get there; there’s a good selection of Japanese whisky too!” What I’ve been in knowing self denial over for years is that in fact Dad and I are very similar in a lot of ways, and so I probably overthought the planning stage he loved the place almost as much as I did. From repeated mentions of having the best seats in the house (a view through to the grill without sitting directly at the bar) despite an insistence that he’s no longer bothered about where he sits, to praise of the service and a positive commentary on the decor, lighting and “a nice level of busy ness”, it was almost as though he was trying to tell me without using the word itself, for fear of bringing up years of historical familial ridicule at his use and pronunciation of it that Bincho has that what he looks for in a restaurant almost more than decent scran: ambience. Though I do love the bustle and the low lights against the blackness of every surface, several with specials scrawled into them in chalk; the empty bottles of Yamazaki adorning the perimeter wall shelves; the noises and aromas that emanate from the kitchen and the ridiculous efficiency of the staff, I normally need the food itself to be outstanding to warrant a second visit somewhere. Fortunately at Bincho, it is. We got a couple of the beer snacky veggie starters to buy Dad a bit of time with the menu. The Korean cucumbers benefited from a chopping and a tossing a change from last time and the pickles disappeared as frustratingly quickly as ever, meaning that Dad let me take the lead when our patient waitress came to clear our plates and ask again if we were ready to order. The great thing about a simple concept done well and to great variety as the yakitori is here is that you can just order to taste, in stages, again and again, until you can’t order any more. And so we did. Chicken skin, chicken meatball (with egg yolk dip), salmon, shrimp and teriyaki miso pork yakitori were all sampled across the evening, the latter two of that chalk scrawled specials menu. To accompany we had the hipsi cabbage, also from the specials and mercifully still available from last time but ordered just the once this time; a lamb chop (nice, but the yakitori were all better); a kind of creamy broccoli (the only thing approaching disappointing); and an almost stupidly good sea bream tempura, the fish flaky and meaty, the curling batter light and crispy entirely unnecessary but somehow otherworldly and potentially the highlight. I felt like I could have kept going, personally, but I concede it was probably for the best to forego the Japanese whisky and have that seafront walk, the only issue being the fresh sea air, so devoid of meaty smoke, sobering me up quickly enough that I couldn’t help but start thinking about my next hit."

"it seemed as though margate was still firmly attached to board and was locked for the winter when we visited a sunny day of February from london before some weeks ago. so it was a bit about finding somewhere that a bit more tasty...as bog standard fish and chips on the empty beach or greasy kebab from the takeouts, the marine parade. we tried the caffe in turner contemporary, but it has not been called. we came to the happiness about the cozy little cafe called "the greedy cow cafe" on the small market place in the old town, opposite the margate museum. the caffe is located in one of the quirky old buildings of the old city. the building is a bit old-worldly wondered. the interior decor is decided vintage, quite shameful chic, but very clean and very appealing, especially for the arty-farty quantity. we were warmly welcomed and have made our way to the small dining room above, already filled with diners. the seats are located on the tables in the trestle style; we had a great place on the window with views of the small square and the museum. the only seat in the ground floor is located outside the small square. it's the food that grabs a hit here. the lunch menu is kreatiw, innovatiw and really interesting. everything speaks of taste and freshness; everything pays attention to detail and attention. it's far from the usual farewell here. there is a good selection of dresses, including burger, and an extensive menu for children. there is also a rather exotic breakfast card. no “Full English” here; think “Banana and pistachio Toastie” or “Bacon and guacamole Bun”. there are many options for vegans. our meals were the falafel and the beetroot hummus and the pulled pork. both were delicious. the spiced criminal falcon was accompanied by rose water urissa, beetroot hummus, and a tomato bevel and gurkensalat on a bed of couscous; it was served with the liders of the sourdough. the pulled pork dish was a roasted brioche book with juicy roasted shoulder of pork, dressed with homemade BBQ sauce and a celery tail. we enjoyed our meal very much. the portions were abundant. AtWe’ve certainly put it on our radar, and will see again as soon as the possibilities allow."
