"After a long corona-induced abstinence, we wanted to support the gastronomy again. The weather was good and the corona numbers in our region were low. Unvaccinated, but standing on the waiting list, we have a terrace place in the Hotel/Restaurant Zum Becklinger Holz in advance. When we arrived, all normal parking spaces were occupied. The hungry guest parks on the side of the access road. Service We had hardly reached the restaurant entrance, a nice young lady with disinfectants stood in front of us and took us in reception. The hands were disinfected and the mask on the face was allowed to follow the young lady across the restaurant and were led to the table reserved for us outside. The senior of the house asked by the way, do you have the Luca app? Of course. The terrace was very well visited. The distance rules were well complied with. They brought us the menus very quickly and picked up the drinks. We ordered a soft wheat beer and a semi-dry white wine as well as ice cubes. From the senior manager we got to hear at the wine order, he had to look at what's already up and what needs to be done tomorrow. Yes, he is. Not every guest comes clear with his humor/his dry remarks. I like this kind of humor and you can play the balls (notes). Food The menu is clear and offers hearty home cooking and is supplemented by seasonal/regional offers, for example for September heidschnucke, for October slaughter plate and for November goose breast. We ordered the Niedersächsische Hochzeitsuppe (Fleischklößchen, Spargel, Eggstitch), a rag steak with onions and mushrooms, mixed salads, herbal butter and roast potatoes, as well as at the end of the season once again a portion of asparagus with cat sinks, Sauce Hollandaise and potatoes Friendly and with always fleeting spells the Senior Chef took orders. The portion of ice cubes was brought as desired. The wine was excellent, well cooled and wonderfully fruity. A must is the Niedersächsische wedding soup. Tastefully just like a high-ceiot soup must be, with a lot of inlay. The small salad to steak was composed of: salad tomato, cucumber beans and rag. The Rumpsteak was prepared on the spot, inside beautiful pink with a beautiful crust, with a plentiful supplement of onions and mushrooms as well as very successful roast potatoes. A very tasty dish. The ham to the asparagus was nicely mild, but could have been a bit thinner. The asparagus tasted very well and was not too soft. The homemade sauce Hollandaise was also very successful. A very good food. Ambience This is a classic country guest house with connected hotel/pensions and apartments. In front of the inn there is a ample parking space, but this evening was not enough. Around the terrace there is a very nice and well maintained outdoor complex. The seating consists of dark brown plastic furniture and of grey aluminium furniture. Cleanliness cleanliness was fine price/performance appropriate"
