"We had lunch at Pfannenzauber. We were recommended the place by locals as a good place for vegan food. The curry was delicious and the tagliatelle was very good. Falafels were also good we didn’t expect them to come in a pita bread wrap...but maybe that’s usual in Germany The restaurant has a very simple deco but the service is friendly and the food is good and truly vegan."

"Schade, leider hat das Restaurant unsere Erwartungen nicht erfüllt. Wir waren zu einem besondern Anlass gekommen, Mäntel wurden nicht entgegen genommen, Bestellung der Getränke ging zügig, jedoch liess die Bestellung der Speisen, wie auch die Speisen, recht lange auf sich warten. Leider wurden wir nicht einmal gefragt ob wir noch Getränke bestellen möchten, daher war es ein langer trockener Abend.Die beiden Servicekräfte im Restaurant traten kaum in Erscheinung und waren somit nicht ansprechbar. Das Essen selber, war nur zum Teil in Ordnung, Steak kam durchgebraten an den Tisch obwohl Medium Rare bestellt war, kann passieren wurde dann auch sofort ohne Diskussion neu gebracht, diesmal perfekt gebraten. Leider war es aber so salzig, dass es keine Freude war. Auch ein anderes Gericht, war nicht schmackhaft, zu stark gewürzt und zu scharf und zu trocken, schade. Leider konnte ja auch kein Wasser mehr bestellt werden... Der Wein, ein schöner guter Roter, die Marke möchte ich nicht nennen, wurde leider in den falschen Gläsern eingeschenkt. Hier fehlten die grossen bauchigen Gläser die dem Wein seine besondere Note verleihen, da ich aber nicht der Gastgeber war wollte ich dies nicht anmerken, es war eh so schon peinlich genug. Alles im allen, werden wir hier nicht wieder zum Essen gehen, das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht. Die Qualität des Fleisches ist gut, daher auch einen Punkt mehr als ich für den Rest geben muss."

"Last night I dreamt of Manderlay thus intoned whoever-her-name-was-that-wasn't-Rebeca in the Daphne du Maurier masterpiece. Well hear it well dear readers and hear it now, last night, utterly unassisted by any mind-altering substance, I dreamt of a restaurant in Aix la Chapelle where the clients...spoke neither German nor French and where the staff spoke neither English nor Russian. At one point the manager hauled out a lady who spoke Bulgarian but this helped us little. The Tower of Babel re-enacted. I have to say, however, that the manager showed a rare talent for barnyard noises, enabling him, when our finger alighted on an item in the menu, to go baa moo cluck and even quack to denote the animal that had been slaughtered for our delectation. It may inerest readers to know that my friends main course actually went splash' but that is by the by. The Daliesque food, when finally we had deciphered what on earth we were being offered, was actually very good, tender moo and subtle splash but our sense of being lost in a Dali landscape reached a fever pitch when our translator offered us a lift home. Visions raced before us, were we being led into a vice ring, did a coven of warlocks await? We put on us and them' by the Floyd to sooth our fevered brows. The Bluetooth didn't work. A tinny noise from an iPhone was the only noise, barnyard ones aside, that broke the silence. Learn the lingo brothers, eat the food, enjoy tripping."

"We went for a meal and the menu has many attractive dishes. All the meals seemed very good. I opted for a vegetarian lasagna which was fine but just a dish microwaved and left in its container much like I'd do at home on a...lazy day. But my friends meals were good An ok place. "Vor einiger Zeit hat es uns mal über einen Deal zu diesem etwas außerhalb in einem Industriegebiet versteckten Juwel in Aachen geführt. Damals war der Koch Milan noch eine One-Man Show und schon damals hat uns das ehrliche Konzept wirklich sehr gut gefallen.Das Konzept: es gibt eine kleine Karte, auf der es einige Stammgerichte gibt. Diese wird bereichert durch Specials oder Wochengerichte, die sich dann auf der Karte wiederfinden (z.B. einer Gänsekeule zu St. Martin, aber auch von der Saison völlig unabhängige Dinge). Was immer das oberste Gebot ist: es wird alles frisch zu bereitet. Dabei ist es auch völlig ok, wenn man ein Hauptgericht auf der Karte, mit der Beilage eines anderen Gerichtes mischt. Hier wird gerne beraten, umgestellt und auf jeden Wunsch eingegangen. Ich kann immer nur empfehlen: sprecht den Service oder den Koch an, es gibt auch immer Dinge, die gerade nicht auf der Karte stehen (wie z.B. die leckeren Schnitzel oder eine CurryWurst mit einer selbst gemachten Soße oder wenn es mal klein und flott sein soll Kartoffelröstis mit Lachs... einfach ein Träumchen)Die Küche hat sich kürzlich breiter aufgestellt, sodass in nächster Zeit auch einige Spezialveranstaltungen geplant sind. Als Teil einer kochinteressierten Gruppe, haben wir seit mittlerweile knapp einem Jahr das Glück, diverse Gerichte des Il Cavallo Teams (und ein TEAM sind sie wirklich) probieren zu dürfen.Die angehängten Fotos sind Teil eines 12 Gang Tapas Abends, an dem von spanischer Tortilla über Sopa de Frijoles, Alandingas und Churros sogar die Tortilla Chips selbst gemacht wurden. Es war ein Traum, wirklich nicht vergleichbar mit irgendwelche Conveniance. Wir waren mit 8 Personen vor Ort und wir waren durch die Bank völlig begeistert. Man schmeckt wirklich, dass bei allen Beteiligten eine riesige Portion Kochleidenschaft dahinter steckt und nicht nur ein Geschäftsmodel. Die Jungs haben einfach richtig Bock auf das, was sie machen.Das Steak mit der Kaffekruste, welches sich oft auf der Karte befindet, ist ein absolutes Highlight, ebenso wie der Sauerebraten, den ich auch schon diversen Freunden und Bekannten ans Herz gelegt habe. Die verschiedenen Suppen / Eintöpfe sind ebenfalls zu emfpehlen. Aber eigentlich kann man alles probieren, wenn man frische Küche mag. Auf jeden Fall sollte man nach den selbst gebackenen Kuchen fragen (selbst Biskuitteig wird hier selbst hergestellt).Das alles zum wirklich fairen Preis und mit einer Preisspanne, die für jeden Geldbeutel etwas bereit hält.Zur Location wie oben schon erwähnt: das Lokal befindet sich im Obergeschoss des Reitstall Braun. Man darf sich wirklich nicht vom Pferdegeruch beim Betreten der Lokalität blenden lassen, davon bleibt oben nichts mehr übrig. Im Sommer bietet eine geräumige Terasse einen schönen Ausblick auf den Vennbahnweg und die Pferdekoppeln, in der Übergangszeit werden Decken bereitgestellt und es gibt Heizstrahler.Nehmt Euch wirklich die Zeit mit dem Koch und Besitzer Milan zu sprechen, der weiß, was er tut und wir wünschen ihm und seinem Team auch ohne die typische Laufkundschaft das Beste. Fragt auch nach den Specials, wie dem Brunch."

"This was delightful restaurant that my friend visited on her student days nearly years ago. The place is small almost like dining in some ones lounge. Good atmosphere and very busy (you might have to book). They offer a small menu which they change...just once a month. There is a good selection of stuff with a course for the vast majority of people’s tastes. Good selection of beers from local breweries. Friendly service all be it a little slow and relaxed at times. Good well cooked and well presented food. Ample portions and satisfying fare. Staff likes to talk to you and even your very best Germany will be replied to in English. Well worth a visit."

"it was a bit waiting, but the dumplings were good, plentiful and cheap. the free (probably homemade) sauces add a lot of possible taste combinations. the only knödelsorte that didn't like us so well was a nice option that didn't hold up very well. overall but a simple 4/5 evaluation for taste, service, portion and price-performance ratio."

"We´ve been eating Thai food from the very beginning of it´s success story about 40 years ago when the first restaurants opened in Germany.Since then we´ve tried Thai food all over the world (mainly in Thailand, UK, Germany)Our amazing summary after half a lifetime: You find three of the best Thai dishes here at the Sukhothai (former Bangkok) restaurant perfectly cooked and even better than in Thailand:Jungle Curry (Waldpaste), outstanding tasty though hot (for unexperienced very hot) and always slightly different in its taste. You rarely find that dish in other restaurants (ingredients are not very common and for most people it´s too hot)Basil Chicken (Basilikum), a bit differently prepared than the usual Thai basil, hot, sometimes very hot, always excellentSoup Tom-Yam-Gai, in many restaurants you might find it either just hot or revealing a one dimensional taste. Here it´s much more, you have to try it once in your life. (If you don´t like it, then carry on with eating pizza and pasta)Most of the other curries and the Thai beef salad are above-average, too.Coktails are also to be recommended, the lunch menu offers a good value for money.Nevertheless the fried starters platter and the Massaman (untypically coming along with pineapple pieces) are a bit disappointing. However lots of people like that "sweet" Massaman here, but we don´t.A much better Massaman curry you´ll find at Freiburg (and of course other cities...), but that´s another story..."

"Über den Winter hat sich die Speisekarte ein wenig verändert, ist der orientalischen Ausrichtung und guten Qualität aber treu geblieben. Ich empfehle dieses Café gerne für den kleinen Happen zwischendurch. Statt Fastfood, das es in der Nähe massenweise gibt, werden hier handgemachte Speisen serviert.Mein persönliches Lieblingsgericht ist die hausgemachte Linsensuppe, die mit einer Viertelzitrone und frischem Brot serviert wird. Und sollte das mal meinen Hunger noch nicht stillen, bestelle ich mir noch einen Yoghurt mit frischen Früchten. Gerne nutze ich im Sommer auch die Außenterasse. Leider liegt sie direkt an der Hauptverkehrsader, die über den Kaiserplatz führt. Den Lärmpegel muss man ausblenden können, sonst setzt man sich besser nach innen. Sehr schätze ich auch die Tageszeitungen und Wochenmagazine, die hier ausliegen und in denen ich gerne stöbere.Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und stets bemüht auch Sonderwünsche zu erfüllen. Die Speisekarte reicht vom Frühstück, Mittagessen, kleineren Zwischenmahlzeiten, Desserts und neuerdings einer Eiskarte. Es wird eigentlich für jeden etwas geboten."

"small but very fine gastronomy, which is furnished with much love. the gastronomin leads warm and pleasant through the evening. the map offers possibilities to choose between fish, meat and vegetarian gear. the foods taste fresh and delicious. It should be noted that seasonal reference and the use of fresh foods are to be noted. the prices are appropriate before this background. we chose calfsbäckchen and chicken breast with crimped crust and sherry sauce. We convinced both the dishes and the entire arrangement of gastronomy. therefore we can only offer one recommendation. next time we will book the "Probiönchen-Abend" (8-courses / 28,50 euro / termine on the facebook side of gastronomy)."

"Ich war schon zum 2. Mal in diesem Restaurant. Das Essen ist köstlich! Ich würde sagen, für den deutschen Gaumen angepasst. Es gibt keine typischen traditionellen chinesischen kantonesischen Gerichte, wie z.B. Dimsum. Das ist keine Kritik, nur eine Information, falls ihr traditionelle chinesische Küche sucht wie z.B in Maastricht. Das Essen ist lecker, keine Frage. Preis Leistung: 21 Euro für ein Entengericht. Finde ich etwas teuer deshalb nur 4 Sterne. Schafft man übrigens allein. Keine Reste zum Einpacken, d.h. die Portionen sind genau richtig. Wir haben alle aufgegessen obwohl wir noch Vorspeisen hatten. Gemütlich. Service top! Sehr aufmerksames Personal. Es gibt eine extra Weinkarte."

"Went here for a dinner with my girlfriend on a Sunday evening. Staff (two older ladies) were not friendly nor welcoming. Food is overpriced and not very delicious (e.g. pasta overcooked (not al dente), tomato sauce (lasagna) was not more than warmed-up can of peeled tomatoes, lasagna dish looked like soup) and no effort to present the food in a pleasing manner. Anybody with basic cooking skills can do better (ánd cheaper) at home. No love nor passion for food or service from staff, didn't ask how the food tasted, didn't ask for desert nor for coffee. Don't go here, waste of money and plenty of better options in and around Aachen."

"This review has been a long time coming. Been coming here for about a year now at least once a month or so. The food is good, hearty portions, definitely value for money, salad comes with the meal. The house wine is a nice Greek...house wine. What makes me come back time and time again is the great family that own this place and my favorite comfort food dish at a great price. I may have a local passport but I am and always will be a foreigner, but they make me feel at home. They always got a smile on their faces and a kind word for us. Almost every time I take forever looking over the menu, I always wind up choosing out of one or two of my favorite dishes, it is just one of those things a real comfort I can count on, and they never get irritated by that habit of mine and they don't rush me no matter how busy, so thank you for that. I only wish they had some nice outside space, if they did I would be there almost the whole summer also. My only tip for them is the lighting in the back area of the restaurant, it needs to be done like the front to give it that cozy feel, it is the reason I try and request the front oh and perhaps being closer to the friendly family Oh and a Greek night would be fantastic! Tastes are adjusted for the locals on some dishes, keep that in mind. Atmosphere is not chic, it is very homey, but that being said fresh flowers on the table and candles, so it has the charm and romance of a little Greek restaurant Heck I am now craving my favorite dish Bifteki, I may just have to go tonight.... "We 've been to this restaurant two times. The first time was in February 2015 and were lucky to have found it on the night they had a fish buffet. It was excellent! The server was the spitting image of Ron Howard 'Oppy Taylor ' when Ron was in his twenties. Just recently we found ourselves again in the same area and made a beeline to Hotel Restaurant Zur Heide. When we arrived for dinner the owner was about to take us to our table when 'Oppy ' came towards us and said same table as last time . Well that was a first. We 'd only been to this restaurant one time and some eight months back, at that, and he remembered us and which table we 'd sat at. Amazing. Anyhow, we order ordered the fresh mussels a la crème as an appetizer (generally served as a main course) that we shared. It was outstanding! We should have ordered two as main courses of mussels. We didn 't because we really wanted to try the Jagger Schnitzel you see, we 'd been away from Germany on holidays and we were really hankering for some authentic German food. Unfortunately, the Jagger Schnitzels were not that good. The sauce was quite dark; we 're used to seeing Jagger Schnitzel served with a lighter sauce. The sauce was also very salty. The Schnitzel itself look as if it hadn 't been breaded correctly, as if the Schnitzels had barely touched the egg wash. To be fair, we had shared a large portion of mussels and perhaps because of this our critic of the main course a bit stronger than it otherwise would have been. This a wonderful restaurant and the service could not be better. It is also reasonably priced. If we could have given a 4 1/2 we would have. It is definitely on our list of places to return to again and again. Next time though, we 'll not order so much."
