"we booked for two nights dinner at this place which is located a hundred meters outside the central street of aosta. typical environment with bistro and classic menu with few dishes. we tried the cacio and pepper, the cut and the polenta tanning: all very good and quality. also the local wine very good. friendly staff and great service. average price"

"Piccola osteria storica che dal 1957 porta avanti la tradizione in cucina. Il servizio è stato impeccabile, soprattutto nella spiegazione dei piatti. Entrambi abbiamo ordinato lo stinco di maiale di Saint’Oyén glassato alla birra scura accompagnato da crauti di cavolo e crema di cachi Davvero eccezionale, la carne era tenerissima, la crema di cachi era un perfetto abbinamento ed i crauti non avevano un sapore forte di aceto. Abbiamo concluso scegliendo come dolce I Nostri Must: Delizia di Panna alla Cannella e Liquirizia; Armonia di Cioccolato, Caffè e Genepì; Zabaione al Pierrots Siamo rimasti davvero senza parole di quanto fosse buonissimo quello centrale. Dal mio punto di vista, avrei preferito trovare più scelta di primi e di secondi incentrati sui prodotti locali perché non sono un'amante del salmerino e del pesce di lago in generale quindi mi sono trovata costretta ad ordinare lo stinco che si è rivelato davvero un ottimo piatto!"

"Came on the recommendation of our hotel and very mixed experience. Without a doubt the food was good. Without a doubt the view would have been great but only for the tables on the edge of the terrace otherwise all you see are the flowers and the blue plastic lining sheet but it was night time anyway. The actual decor is very minimal. We did not have the warmest of initial contact, a lack of eye contact or smile, which was a shame as I got the sense that it might not always be that way. It is popular and it was very busy even though it was early and midweek and out of town. Two things that were off putting were the midges that kept biting my wife, and the bins that were collected twice directly under the terrace as we ate."

"delicious dishes, an experience! recommended for anyone, not only vegans or vegetarians. we were greeted with two small free appetizers, really delicious! they recommended the dishes of the day since the fresh mushrooms had arrived, we took so cutlery and fried mushrooms, a delicious goto! Whoever is in the kitchen knows how to fry, the bakery was crispy and the goose, really fresh mushrooms. sandwich with vegetable burger from the very good goto, see they play with combinations and there is a non-different search to make the goto an experience, congratulations!"

"Scoperto mentre stavamo facendo una passeggiata e il menu ci ha incuriosito, tutto fatto in casa, ottimo vino, abbiamo preso un'insalata con frutta, peperoni arrostiti, ravioli con tre arrosti e parmigiano di melanzane, ottimo arrosto proposto dalla cameriera molto sorridente e cortese, il proprietario molto cortese e disponibile e pronto a spiegare i piatti, si vede che gli piace quello che fa! "Difficile trovare un cattivo ristorante quando si rientra dalla Francia, difficile trovarne uno meglio di questo ad Aosta. Tutti piatti tipici e anche qualcosa di più tradizionale, con sapori intensi e porzioni all’altezza del viandante affamato. Prezzi decisamente abbordabili, considerando anche la ‘sostanza’, vino della casa ottimo. I dolci? Si siamo stati qui 2 volte a cena e una a pranzo, in un giorno e mezzo che siamo rimasti ad Aosta, e tutte le volte il tiramisù era squisito! Grazie e complimenti per il servizio sempre attento e veloce, anche quando siete assaliti dai clienti."

"Buoni panini, oggi ho avuto troppo desiderio di un greundzo (menomale che non sono in attesa dolce) arrivo ad aosta ed è chiuso il martedì è chiuso, ovviamente ho guardato online e detto di essere aperto fino a mezzanotte quindi non mi aspettavo. Di solito porto a casa i panini, ma ultimamente non risponde al telefono, anche se si chiama 20 volte con numeri diversi, la linea è gratuita ma non risponde così questa volta ho optato per salire, anche perché la consegna se lo spingono con macchine a gas che solo ci guadagnano. Ma va tutto bene. tutto in un pub dove si mangia molto bene e si è in serenità."

"Day trip to Aosta with friends and we fancied pizza. We stumbled across this place down a side street off the main shopping street. They have an extensive choice of pizzas so in we went. However we all choose the menu turistico as it was...also very Italian and a bargain at €18 for 3 courses. The gnocchi was tasty and so was the pork milanese and the chicken massala. My friend is vegetarian and she got 2 side dishes : 1 carrots and 1 spinach (which we had wt our main course too). Very odd but she didn't mind. The desserts however let this place completely down! Dry chocolate cake, cheap tasteless strawberry mousse and a curdled tasteless creme caramel. The menu also included a drinkable glass of red or white plonk All in all an ok experience but wouldn't go back and try elsewhere instead. Friendly service too."

"we were two and we visited this restaurant too. we ordered two bruchettas and two veganetto pizzas that was the only vegan pizza on the menu. veganetto should have vegan sausage in it. when the pizzas arrived, there was no sausage. we asked about it and the waiter said they didn't have a vegan at the moment. I find it very annoying that the waiter didn't say anything about it while he took our order. the pizza then, without sausage, contained tomato sauce, vegan mozzarella, grilled zucchini, grilled aubergine and oliven. I would say it was a very average pizza. nothing special. bruchetta lacked in garlic and salt. brot could have been roasted better."

"big menu degotation at 25€. aperitif cutter of meats and cheeses with crespelle jams to the valdostana polenta and capriolo to the sweet civet 1 glass of wine all very good, I recommend it. edit: I add a great angus burger with fries only last night. the portion is abundant so I recommend not to exaggerate with the dishes preceding it."

"I usually give four stars because there is always something to improve, in this case this is a real 5 star place. Here is why: It meets all expectations created by the owner in the presentation (fresh ingredients, traditional cuisine, after the season, authentic flavors etc.). This is all true, congratulations to the chefs, we cook gnocchi, my parents make fresh pasta, I learned from my Italian friends how to cook neat pasta, so we could really appreciate the championship of what we ate. The surroundings are quiet and the music is good for dinner. The service is very friendly and ready to explain everything necessary, even if the menu is translated. And don't accept anything, so ask the right questions to avoid mistakes. The timing of the service was impeccable, we were two tables, so I can't promise if it were the same if it were overcrowded... but if the principle is there, that counts. We were not so hungry, so we decided to share our second course, we said to explain why only one second for two, and they separated the part served in two records through their own initiative! Our selection: Gnocchi from chestnut flour with blue from Aosta, Tagliatelle with Chevreuil, wild boar with polnta and blueberries, 50cl bottle of local red wine. Delicious for an excellent value for money."

"We entered via the entrance on the Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII, went down a small flight of stairs into a bar area and were surprised to see a large and very popular outside garden seating area. Firstly ordered a couple of Spritz (EUR5-00 each) and an aperitivo platter of Il Taliere Valdostano (basically several different types of salami, cold meats and cheeses) for EUR12-00. Very ordinary platter for the money. One of the meats and one of the cheeses were not to our liking at all. The setting though was so good that we decided to stay for a couple of glasses of white wine. This was an expensive waste of time as I guarantee that we would have got more wine in our glasses if the waiter had used a spirits nip measure. Service was also extremely slow however it was busy."

"Un posto i cui muri si può dire che parlino, tanta è la storia che lo circonda. Questo locale è costruito ed arredato tutto in stile, ed entrare qui per me e il mio fidanzato è sempre una piccola magia. Ci piace molto la cura che viene messa nella preparazione di ogni piatto. Sono tutti estremamente professionali, dal cuoco al cameriere, ma anche molto disponibili. Provate a prenotare una sera, rimarrete stupiti!"

"taking a few steps in the evening in the historic center we had noticed almost shaken and not too much in view of this place and the name of course was very particular not to try to deepen what is reported from the many reviews. even if everything is always to be considered subjective and never objective. well the surprise was great, a list of exceptional wines and a way to make that we loved it. not in many places would make you taste such an important bottle if you do not take the bottle itself. but here it happened and this deserves the maximum of votes. the food as well was very welcome and the service equally impeccable. even the account I considered it extraordinary for the wonderful evening I spent together with the person I was with. In short, a stage to repeat in those of aosta because it really deserves everything."
