"We went here for the first time and I must say the food was good. The hugo/aperol should be avoided as this is not a drinks place, so stick with standard bottled drinks. We ordered a mezze, two main courses and water, and the two cocktails. Bill was 80chf which is slightly on the higher side for a basic restaurant. The stuffed aubergine was good though the menu 2 was just at par. Would I here again perhaps but the good part was that the food was freshly made. They ran out of humus but compensated with other stuff. so net summary was it was not a highlight but decent food."

"A beautiful place, trendy and frequented by people of all ages... Great service. You eat very well there and there was a large selection of drinks, aperitifs, cocktails, wines, etc. you can drink everything. Great place to enjoy a nice evening with friends or to visit or reserve for business events! Very good... highly recommended!!"

"Well, it was craft beer time so I headed up to Volta Brau. The gentleman that assisted me was friendly with explaining the beers on tap as I wanted to try a sampler. They offer 3 samples priced at 5.50CHF, which is a very good deal. I decided on the IPA (nice), Red Ale (a little sweet maybe caramel tones), and the Porter (dark, coffee, and caramel scent). There must be a large contingent from Novartis here for after work drinks as I was hearing mostly English and British accents around the room. Appetizers, snacks, sandwiches and more on the menu to quell your hunger along with your beverage. I noticed one of the bartenders slicing fresh salami appetizers right at the bar. A lively room inside and a nice garden patio area with umbrellas. There are newspapers, magazines, free unsecured Wi-Fi (though I could not access), and clean restrooms."

"The service was acceptable, but the food was extremely dissapointing. I recommend going to any other Italian restaurant in Basel. The carbonara was swimming in oil and the egg was cooked. It was more of an omelette with oil and some pasta. Terrible, for the sake of your Swiss experience, avoid eating here. If an Italian restaurant can't make a good carbonara, what can you expect. Even after telling the waiter about the issue, no compensation was even offered. Very dissapointing. Avoid at all costs"

"Excellent food, service and ambience. We had 6 course fixed menu on Saturday night. I loved the element of surprise as the menu was fixed and every course was a surprise. All the courses were delicious and well balanced in flavour. I particularly liked truffle pasta and veal steak course. The wine recommendation was also very nice. Service was very attentive and pleasant. The price is very attractive for such a large and various meal. We loved it! Highly recommended!"

"I am Vietnamese and this is the most authentic pho I had in the Swiss. I have tried many other places and none of them comes close. the broth is rich and tasteful, portion are generous, staff is extremely friendly and beautiful. The natives like the western pho at knock on wood, but the true asiates should go to happy wok for authentic experience. the Swiss is such a sad place for Vietnamese cuisine and after living in vietnam and south Kali I was very disappointed by the options here, but happy wok had restored my belief that a large chef in the Swiss end."

"Das Ambiente stimmt, die Einrichtung ist sehr urban und stimmig. Das Essen ist qualitativ hochwertig und sehr gut! Jedoch hat das Personal nicht überzeugt. Es wurden die falschen Getränke serviert. Ausserdem finde ich, dass das personal bei so einer abenteuerlichen Karte die Zutaten und Speisen kennen sollte. Dies war nich der Fall. Alles in allem trotzdem ein empfehlenswertes Restaurant."

"I held a small event (20 people) at L’Atelier Basel. Ms. Kleiber responded to all of my requests and the whole organization ran smoothly. I would like to thank Moana Kleiber and her team again for the great service. The restaurant is very nice and tastefully decorated. We were able to enjoy the event in the lower area in a cozy atmosphere. The poke bowls were super tasty, there was something to suit every taste. A top price-performance ratio. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We'd love to come back!"

"seeing all the positive comments on trip advisor about this restaurant, my companion and I decide to go to dinner with a friend, our Italian canteen being closed for the holidays. Unfortunately, we are on a service of a polar cold. When we decide not to enter, we immediately feel contempt in the server's voice. I didn't dream, we were 3 feeling it. Then, when I ask for water, he doesn't bother to know if it's only for me or for the whole table and brings back a small bottle and a single glass. Well, little mistake on both sides, maybe it was up to me to show me more precise. disappointed by the atmosphere and food ( pizzas had nothing extraordinary frankly), we decided to leave. When we set the note, we feel all the more the contempt of the server when suddenly we announce the infamy: we want to divide the note. Is it because it is very French to do this and that it is not seen in Swiss? In any case, the pingres and grooves that we left without turning back and once outside, I suddenly felt more casual."

Abgesehen von den heissen Aussen-Temperaturen präsentiert sich das Gärtchen als willkommene Erfrischung, und das mitten im Wohnquartier im Gundeli.Die Bestellung wird schnell aufgenommen und der Küchen-Service gestaltet sich überraschend schnell. "After a break, the evening was like coming home again. The boss's service is like a loving hug. Attentive, personal, but unobtrusive, we, including the dog, were remembered, details, preferences, allergies (how does she do that? and her words “I'm so happy that you're back” were remembered from start to finish filled. The food was excellent. Today the Octopus particularly stood out, its tenderness and the chosen composition simply melted in the mouth. "we were for a family celebration in the puppy tower. with beautiful weather we had the pleasure to sit on the terrace of the restaurant. from there you have a fascinating view of the environment. a visit is really worthwhile for that. the food was also good, I would have liked to give four points at the place but: the portions are normal and the prices for it are undamaged high. from my own, is it also for Swiss relations an unharmed (12 francs for a small mixed salad? 14 francs for a coupe danmark.?) somewhere the fun stops, especially if you can get more for half the money in the bordering Germany. the service was satisfied. recommend - well, here I am really split."

"Cafe Streuli is located at the end of Tram line #15/16 Bruderholz. There are walking trails and a park nearby. This cafe with friendly staff is here to take care of all your needs. There is a great selection of fresh breads, pastries, cakes, chocolates, sweets/snacks and more. There are no milk substitute products on the menu. Everything looked mouth-watering good. I opted for the plum dessert, which was a nice serving size and a cup of tea. The place does a very good take out business. There is a postal drop service, clean restrooms, newspapers, magazines. and more that await you here at this lovely place"

"When I choose a hotel it’s the bed, the shower and noise levels that matter most. In a restaurant it’s the food, the service and the atmosphere. This place scores tops on all three criteria. The food is like Italian genuinely home made but BETTER. We tried 5 dishes and every one of them was excellent: not one was weak. Five is a bit much but worth the extra gym time the next day. Wines also very interesting and off the beaten track: follow the recommendations and you’ll be fine. Service is super friendly but not over bearing: a difficult balance. The atmosphere is cool but not uncomfortable with good music at a sensible levelThis is my new favourite Basel place: it’s small with only 20 or so seats so book ahead might be a good idea."

"We consumed for 400.00 to third. The Giner Ale which you offer is not a Ginger Ale, it is unthinkable. 8. also completely overcrowded. In the Kunsthalle it costs 5. and in the Campari Bar 6. Service very nice but completely overwhelmed. Head of the service has not helped. He should have seen that the two waiters were completely overwhelmed. Eating was sometimes cold as it was standing. Espresso was lukewarm as he stood 5min before served. When we want to drink something at the bar, we were thrown out by a very unfriendly employee. Several guests were gathered in front of the entrance at 22:15, and all were completely in front of the head. Emergency from an employee. To order a bottle of champagne or even only a water would certainly have been possible, even for a remedy. So our Christmas dinner was a total waste. Certainly, we and all the others (20 guests who have received it immediately will not consider their house anymore."
