Bath, a charming city known for its Roman baths and Georgian architecture, offers classic British dishes like fish and chips and hearty pies, often enjoyed with local ales.

"During Somerset trip we stopped ver in Bath for a couple of nights. We walked past this place and so glad we decided to go in and take a look inside. Hidden at the back is a beautiful laid back place to enjoy freshly made small plates to satisfy everyone. Sea bass, duck and amazing cheeses. Served with beautiful champagne. Fabulous service. Beautifully intimate and chilled. Memorable evening."

"THIS WAS OUR THIRD VISIT. WHILST THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT THE DELAY IN RECEIVING THE MAIN COURSE AFTER DELIVERY OF THE STARTERS WAS EXCESSIVE. IT IS QUITE LIVELY ONE IS NOT ALWAYS IN THE MOOD TO HEAR THE WAITER SINGING SOLE MIO WHICH MIGHT BE CHARMING AT THE FIRST VISIT BUT BECOMES TEDIOUS WHEN REPEATED AT SUBSEQUENT VISITS AND AT TIMES CAN SEEM INTRUSIVE. NONETHELESS A VERY ENJOYABLE EVENING."

"Thai cuisine ranks among my top three favorites, and I consider myself quite particular. Salathai truly exceeded my expectations! The Tom Kha soup was wonderfully creamy and rich in coconut flavor, making it a fantastic way to kickstart my appetite. My wife, a fan of Pad Thai, declared it one of the best she's ever had—absolutely perfect! As a spice enthusiast, I tried the Pad Krapow, and it was incredibly delicious! For dessert, we indulged in pandan pancakes, leaving us with smiles on our faces and full bellies. This place is not to be missed!"

"This is the first place I came in Bath to get some amazing tasting bread bakery products! I love Real bread , and eat it everyday, but wanted to try their sourdough, as well as their lovely sausage rolls, cakes, and biscuits, etc. I spent nearly £75, and I can say that everything was eaten, with girlfriend dog, too! If I am back in Bath, I will be back here to get their lovely bread cakes! There is another bakery like them in Plymouth, called Jaka 's(it is the oldest bakery in the UK, too! . Don 't believe all these people who slag it off, as they don 't eat proper food, all day, everyday, like me!!!"
"Wow wish this place was closer, the smell of the food cooking was divine so we decided to try and was not disappointed. The staff are so lovely and recommended a number of dishes we tried the sweetcorn fritters for a starter which were tasty and came with sweet chilli dip, then mains were mutton massaman which was very coconutty and perfectly spiced with cashew nuts, carrot and potatoe, the sea bass was perfectly cooked, the waitress apologised there would be a 10/15 minute wait while it’s cooked fresh which wasn’t an issue but nice they gave a time frame. We couldn’t move after. Perfect meal and would recommend the matcha glass jelly green drink it was perfect accompaniment to the meal sweet, refreshing and cooling x Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"On Sunday to lunch we were lucky to get the last unbooked table. A popular pub and a magnificent courtyard garden. The service was great (with an optional 10% size, but not included in the invoice) three courses 32.50 two courses 27.00 drinks were offered inexpensive and water immediately upon arrival and seating. A busy Sunday, but the staff was attentive and remembered when to bring napkins if necessary. Overall the food was good, pudding good, the Panacota was amazing. Not to pretentious, only good food and service."

"Have been to this pub a couple of times for a drink. It’s a welcoming and friendly place. The staff are knowledgeable about the vegan options. Advised us that they alway have three vegan ales on draught, tried Raven and Raven Gold ales which are excellent. Have vegan items marked on the menu, they seem to specialise in pies. Have a vegan pie and a gluten free pie, but not a pie that is both, so we haven’t eaten here."

"Got a takeaway today, the portion sizes are a joke for the price ,I’ve never felt more ripped off by a takeaway. To make things worse, I actually saw the delivery driver pinching chips behind the bar with his bare hands. Completely unhygienic. When I was handed my mixed donner kebab, it wasn’t even properly wrapped just flimsily thrown together like an afterthought. For what they charge, the food quality, quantity, and hygiene are absolutely unacceptable. Never ordering from here again. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"We went for a traditional afternoon tea. It's very easy to find the restaurant is located right in the heart of Bath. We were booked for 12 pm, their first slot of a day, however, we had to queue to enter both pre booked and walk in come at the same time and share the same queue. The environment is peaceful, there is a reasonable distance between tables and you feel quite private. Their pianist was fantastic, he played well known pieces of music with his own improvisations. Slightly let down as it didn't look like everyone was served at the similar time there was a couple who were brought their tea first and the food after, while we were waiting for someone to approach us, and once we were brought ours, there were other visitors still waiting at empty tables. We also didn't expect one of our teas to be brewed of a teabag with the others being loose teas of a high quality, not quite fair. The food was good and it was a very generous amount. 4 plates in total (sandwiches, savoury snacks, scones and cakes). We were very full and took some cakes away. To sum up I recommend this place for an afternoon tea although, there are some points to work on, there are great positive sides to outweigh."

"eat beautiful; waiter friendly efficient and helpful. had email the day before to check that we were still coming. would have been nice if they had told the American dining room would have been closed. sat down on small table (initi with low sesseln.) unimpressed, why they go to hardships of booking. sort them their act-out management; they let her eat and their beautiful staff down!"

"I love everything wagamama and I really appreciate their attempt to move more in direction plant-based food. the bathroom is really not clean, which is not very nice and the waiting queue to get a table was long, although it had many empty tables (I assume, kitchen capacity limits that? but unlike that, eating and service are great!"
"We wanted to enjoy the sunshine in the beer garden and ordered a beer, two wines and my 21 yoa grandson ordered pizza as a snack. The pizza was burnt black around the edges so we complained and the cook said that's how their oven cooks them? A young lady offered to take it back but my grandson said he would try to eat it so as not to cause any hassles however, I asked for a knife to cut off the burnt edges. I took a pic of the black edges and also noticed that the table next to us had pizza which wasn't burnt. We should have sent it back as eating burnt food is unhealthy and unacceptable"

"The second we stepped into this place, I wanted to go back out. The floor was filthy, and we were 'greeted ' by a front of house man in a stained top. He showed us to our table which was sticky and hadn 't been cleaned properly. The music was so loud that we couldn 't hold a conversation. We definitely were tempted to leave at this point, only it was a Saturday night and everywhere was taking bookings only. Our food arrived before our drinks, served by the man again in the stained top! One of the meals had to be sent back as it was cold. There was very little meat in the chilli con carne. The food was very poor quality. All in all this was a downside to our otherwise very nice trip."

"I took my wife to Bath Christmas Market for her birthday. We agreed we would go somewhere nice for lunch. We are both on a fixed income being pensioners, and we saw they had a lunch menu £18.95 each. Reasonable for lunch and upscale enough for us to consider it a bit special. Booked my table for yesterday at 12.30. With the online booking, they ask you to confirm the menu you want and they then confirm. I could not complete the booking without picking a menu and chose the lunch one. Turned up to be told that the lunch menu was no longer available but replaced by a Festive Menu at £33 each. This was despite the restaurant sending an email 6 hours previously confirming the menu I had chosen. We could have afforded to eat off the festive or main menu but were disinclined because we consider this to be very sharp practice and, if we wanted to pay nearly £80 for lunch with drinks, we would have gone somewhere better. Why give the option of the menu when booking, confirming that it was available 6 hours prior to the visit and then make it unavailable? They knew we were coming on that day. Very disappointed in our treatment"

"I was here recently with my daughter who had never been brave. we both enjoyed everything we ordered. we had three tapas dishes to share for our main course the tortilla, the black bell and the deep fried fish selection that were served separately, but this was no problem, as it allowed us to really taste the different aromes. the portions were not huge, that is true, but we did not want to have a big heavy meal anyway, so we were perfectly satisfied with the portions sizes, especially since this has a little space for both of us to have dessert; my daughter wanted to taste the churros and I had the baskenkäsekuchen with a berry-comonote on the side. that were also delicious and after the cheesecake I was quite sure full! we had only one crippled with our food, so it was not expensive for what was very good eating, according to my opinion. And we also had a nice waiter, raoul, who also deserves a special mention for his pleasant wise and attentiveness. I also liked the decor inside and the casual mood. this was our first meal since the kovid pandemie started and our first meal in england since we moved here in juli 2020, so it was a special evening for us in many respects. thanks!"

"I received an email saying trip advisor thought I was referring to the wrong business. I am referring to the restaurant Olio in the hotel, Homewood, Freshford, Bath. I admit at first I said the advertising suggests a contemporary and enjoyable restaurant in a relaxing...environment but after reading the website, relaxing is mentioned at breakfast times only. But, having previously had a number of enjoyable lunches here before, decided to book an evening meal and asked our friends to join. The dome we had, which are currently a feature of their terrace was lovely, as was the salad, that’s about it. Poor service and a culture that allows people to shout, sing and yell all evening, knowing it’s impacting everyone around them, is not a place for me. Being greeted at reception and told to sit in the bar, to waiting minutes for a drink, a further minute delay to the table. To effectively a “heat up” of meat on the BBQ, and one person serving those in terrace, led to a disappointing experience all round. When I asked if the behaviour of the group is accepted as the norm, I was told the group visit weekly and became clear the restaurant feels they have to accommodate such poor behaviour. It’s a shame, I had booked for friends to come back in a couple of weeks as well as further booking later in the autumn and have now be cancelled the bookings."

"on the way back to devon from a motorcycle tour in wales to stay away from the autobahn, brought us to the beautiful city bath, had to ask a local taxi driver if that was a motorcycle parking close. a short walk later we found all bar one, the personal was just as beautiful as the city, I was ready to sell and drag to bath. the coffee was super sat outside and watched people going over their daily business. I'm sure I'm back."

"After traveling to Thailand, we were thrilled to find authentic Thai food here in the USA. The restaurant is beautifully designed, the staff is attentive, and the food is simply excellent. My wife ordered the fish soup and the sea bass, while I had the ripe mango salad followed by the red Thai chicken curry. It was so delicious that we returned the very next night! Sitting on the balcony is a lovely experience, but unfortunately, those seats cannot be reserved—they're available on a first-come, first-served basis. I highly recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment, as people start lining up around 6 pm!"

"the hotel is located in a small street right in front of the capital, yen sushi was a great foundation. the staff was very friendly. eating is great and just like some other sushi restaurants, depending on the color of the plate they pick up, it determines the price. for me and mt partner we have spent 50 pfunds. the quality of eating was great, although I felt that some dishes were not great or consistent. they can also order hot food, the only thing I thought was strange is that the waitress empty teller would bring with their hot food to represent his worth, instead of just making a note on the table that took place on the table, which then made it a little tight for others. despite the above one still a great visit. they'll be sure if they want it. if their regular sushi eater, they can lack the fish in quality."

"It was the most shocking and unpleasant experience I have ever had in years, let alone in a restaurant. The landlord was a bully to me and displayed a horrendous amount of aggression towards me when I sent my steak back because it was dry. The waitress was in tears because he behaved in such a disgusting manner. He insulted me over and over said he would call the police if I didn’t pay for the steak. My husband stepped in and he remained deeply unpleasant and child like. My husband and I were in such shock over his nastiness that we wrote it off to the fact that he’s just a deeply unhappy individual and he just wanted to vent on someone. What a terrible experience and the food wasn’t great either."
