Bath, a charming city known for its Roman baths and Georgian architecture, offers classic British dishes like fish and chips and hearty pies, often enjoyed with local ales.

"We had delicious veggie curries last night and we thoroughly impressed by the quality and value. Spinach daal was great. Vegetable dansak equally good. Not too oily, rich and flavourful and great spicing. And all delivered with a smile! 5*"

"here's coffee and cake stopped in the morning. I am milk and gluten-free and while they have a gluten-free cake (cook), it was not milk free, so there was nothing I could eat on the menu (and no suggestions from the personal about any...other options, I saw on their regal of prepackaged cookies, but could not see anything obvious) my man had the Krug tar he said was very good. if they have no dietary requirements, then it is likely to go a nice place. Unfortunately, we will not go back because they were not able to take care of me."

"Atmosphere was great, however could of been improved for a valentines day with perhaps some candles lit or even hearts or balloons? The prawn starter was in a runny sauce that would of been better with a of side bread. The prawns were overcooked very chewy, did not taste fresh! The chateaubriand was excellent we really enjoyed it, along with the dessert. Service was good but the food was coming out far too quick we had glassed of wine served before we even finished out kir Royale as part of the meal. I got the impression we were being rushed along with the couple by our side, perhaps in order to get as many people in for valentines day evening. On that basis of not putting the customer first, it sadly took the shine off the experience a little doubt we will return again."

"We walked straight past it and someone asked if we were lost, and told us where it was. We ordered chai, everything in a box and a bhaji wrap with a samosa. It is all take away but it was quite quickly prepared. I liked my bhaji wrap particularly. My partner enjoyed his everything in a box too. The chai was sweet and tasted nice. Just look carefully at the numbers in the street!"

"The restaurant was quite quiet, all the others eating there left half way through our meal. We were mostly left alone once the food arrived. After we had finished we waited in vain for staff to clear up and offer dessert or coffee. So after approx 15 mins we asked for the bill and left. Only then did we have a conversation. The food was ok, nicely cooked squid and duck. It was a very small tapas menu and if you have a fussy enough partner finding dishes without his dislikes was difficult. We felt the staff could have been more attentive and felt the food choice limited and over priced, but then this is Bath!"

"visited preshow tonight and very disappointed. the service was extremely slow as soon as the first food order no waitress was re-set on our table to check whether all ok, or needed drinks etc. finally managed to attract attention for a drink above, but was again so slow that we asked for the bill before the drinks arrived. had no chance to order dessert as no service available and already had almost two hours for a round beverage and net. will not be back in a hurry."

"I visited with my wife, on the occasion of my birthday. We stepped into the restaurant 5 mins early for our reservation. Staff seemed to be going in all directions, making eye contact then walking away before I had a chance to say ‘hello, we have a booking’. Eventually, one staff member said ‘table for two?’ and started looking around as if to fit us in. I said that we had a booking, but there was no acknowledgment or this, or request of my name. We were given menus and sat down. We were sat there long enough to order our drinks along with our food. The drinks took a good 20mins to arrive, in fact after poppadoms and pickles were finished and this was one at a time and after prompting. Granted, they were cocktails. A huge opportunity missed for the owner. For me, you get your drinks to your diner asap, often they are thirsty and you get another drinks order my the time the food arrives. We were served by several people while there, often being asked twice about something we’d already ordered, and yet on more than one occasion had to ask for what we wanted, or to order (the couples either side also had this). Overall service appeared chaotic with little communication or organisation tables allocated to staff members would have really helped! NOW despite the apparent chaos, why still the 4 star rating? Well, the food was simply outstanding, some of the best Indian food I’ve tasted. The staff were also lovely, mainly young and were very helpful. I almost feel bad writing the feedback, but they did ask several times if we could please write a review… so I have! To summarise, I hope the management take this in the spirit it is intended, as we enjoyed the food immensely, but with a little front of house organisation, it could have been an amazing dining experience! The food is sooo good! Thanks"

"on the way back to devon from a motorcycle tour in wales to stay away from the autobahn, brought us to the beautiful city bath, had to ask a local taxi driver if that was a motorcycle parking close. a short walk later we found all bar one, the personal was just as beautiful as the city, I was ready to sell and drag to bath. the coffee was super sat outside and watched people going over their daily business. I'm sure I'm back."

"after a few really bad visits it seems to have picked up a bit again. that's our local, so let's keep trying. eating was nice yesterday when a little slow on the arrival. they were short staff, but seemed to come in order. app for order seemed not to work properly and complained to me 3 times, but always said the payment failed, they were happy to pay me back. eating was nice enough. the external structure they build is good, meant that it was warm enough to sit outside yesterday."

"The food here was absolutely delectable, and the staff was both polite and attentive, adding a lively atmosphere to the experience. The prawn starter was on the pricey side, but the flavor more than justified the expense—it's a must-try when you visit! The combination of bread with olive oil and vinegar was delightful and perfectly prepared. The olives were exceptional, far surpassing the usual deli or supermarket varieties. I enjoyed the chicken Alfredo immensely; it's one of my favorite dishes. The veggie pizza was piled high with fresh vegetables, just what we were looking for. The eggplants on the pizza were a highlight, though I personally prefer them sliced long and thin rather than in small cubes, but that's just a minor preference! Overall, it's a fantastic Italian restaurant!"

"booked for an overnight in bath. with the beautiful weather the view of the river was breathtaking. we were booked by holly, very friendly helpful (reach us great directions for a river to foot in a bath.) we arrived at the afternoon and have let ourselves in to dinner in the pub in the ground floor in our beautiful room. the vegan burger was very nice with the skin on chips. we also had the double bacon cheeseburger, very tasty. for dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding for the vegan option that we went with was deeply filled apple cake with vanilla ice cream. we have also mistakenly ordered the vegan salted caramel ice cream on the side that was beautiful (butterscotch angele joy taste,) this was ordered in mistakes compliments that was fantastic. in the morning we had the cooked breakfast. the full English was really nice, the vegan option was exceptional, easy 8/10. the staff was very friendly. the hotel bar is just a map."

"OH MY GOD. Everything about Acorn is FREAKING FANTASTIC. My husband and I have eaten at fine dining vegetarian restaurants all over the world. Detroit, Edinburgh, Chicago, Toronto, London you name it. We've been there. So we know our stuff and we clean our plates. I had planned a special birthday dinner for my husband at Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen and couldn't stop drooling at the menu. We weren't sure if we'd make it there because I was feeling lazy and were undecided about if we wanted to go to Acorn God knows why I was undecided, but after looking at the menu again, I decided to continue with the plans to dine there and I'm so glad we did. It was the highlight of our trip. Acorn is small. You can have a quiet conversation and ask about every single type of wine or ingredient you want to. You can take your time. We did our dinner was over two hours long with no rush. We opted for a three course meal. For starters, my husband ordered the risotto with sunchoke while I had the truffled broccoli with the cauliflower panna cota. For mains, I had the onion tart while my husband had the curried cauliflower fritter. I was in heaven. While my starter was not as tasty as my husband's (very delicate flavors, I needed a bit more punch), my main was amazing. I couldn't stop eating everything on my plate. Everything was cooked to perfection. Dessert was interesting! We ate the chocolate ganache and poached pear. Yum! I had made a note when booking that we were coming to celebrate my husband's birthday and his ganache arrived with a candle nice touch! This is what vegetarian food should be. A large selection, great flavours, interesting combinations. A menu that is unafraid of trying new things. A restaurant with a commitment to serving quality ingredients that are locally sourced. Everything was phenomenal and we desperately wish this restaurant was in London...but maybe it's for the best that it's so far! We wouldn't have any money left, we'd be eating there so often!"

"so our home is in seattle, washington and as they know we also have access to some amazing seafood. but the scallop shell was in front of location. none, the best mush I've ever eaten, so if they go and don't try that they've missed 'll something really special. the oysters were great as the scallops. we were a party of three and when we wanted to try a lot of dingen available, we only ordered two plates of fish and chips and there was a lot for three people to share. the cod was fantastic and we were not disappointed as it was recommended as the best fishing and chips in the whole of the country. we plan to test this theory, but I doubt that it can be rewarded. also the waiter was wonderful. very friendly. So all and all I would say if they visit bath spa and not stop at dinner here, they really missed the boat!"

"Thai cuisine ranks among my top three favorites, and I consider myself quite particular. Salathai truly exceeded my expectations! The Tom Kha soup was wonderfully creamy and rich in coconut flavor, making it a fantastic way to kickstart my appetite. My wife, a fan of Pad Thai, declared it one of the best she's ever had—absolutely perfect! As a spice enthusiast, I tried the Pad Krapow, and it was incredibly delicious! For dessert, we indulged in pandan pancakes, leaving us with smiles on our faces and full bellies. This place is not to be missed!"

"I had an amazing experience with the burgers and fries at this restaurant. They are perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The flavors are vibrant, and the prices are quite reasonable. This is not your typical fast food; these are gourmet burgers made fresh to order. You can tell the ingredients are of excellent quality. The atmosphere is welcoming, and you definitely get great value for such outstanding food. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need for a great dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant, and if I find myself in Bath again, I will definitely return to Burgers n Barrels."

"We love the King William and have been going there for some years, mainly for lunch, so we have seen a number of different managers. We consider the current owners, the chef and his wife, are the best yet. The food is delicious and well served. My husband, a Yorkshire man who knows good fish and chips, says these are some of the best around, with light batter and tasty fish. Other dishes are full of flavour, which makes choosing one's meal difficult! The bar area is comfortable and friendly and there is a nice table in the window alcove, excellent for ladies who lunch. All in all, the King William is a lovely, well run establishment, whose staff give customers a delightful dining experience."
