"Lovely location in just off the main square of Beaune, with a small courtyard setting out the back if the weather is nice – the weather was perfect. You can relax away from the buzz of the square. Have to love a restaurant where the menu is two A4 pages and the wine list is a telephone book. I ended going with a nice half-bottle of 2013 Rousseau Gevrey-Chambertin ‘Les Cazetiers’. The Beef Tartare was moreish and well done, the truffles and fried egg was so, so good, who would have thought such simple ingredients could create such a hedonistic dish. Right here, right now this the best roast chicken I've ever had. You know the bit of skin you get on the outside that gives you a small salty bite, this is like that all the way through like they brine it or something. Amazingly flavourful chicken. I loved the theatre of the crepe suzette and they tasted great. Such a lovely small restaurant that I took a punt on and I am glad I did. The only gripe I had was the speed of the service, the dishes were coming out too quickly, esp after a big lunch I was in no hurry. They slowed it down after about the 3 course and I found the pace much better."

"We were returning to the UK, through Beaune, a family of three, with our spaniel puppy in tow. Freshening up after a long drive, we arrived in Beaune for dinner quite late. Most restaurants were busy, but we asked at Le Parisien, and were told a table would be ready in a few minutes. Seeing on this warm evening that the interior of the restaurant was empty, we asked if we could wait indoors. So we sat sipping cool drinks and poeple-watching, while brief stormy showers drifted through. As soon as it could be cleared we were ushered to a beautiful table, front and centre, and ordered our meal. Now this is not one of those smart over-priced Beaune restaurants where you pay to be associated with the name but we cannot recommend this place highly enough for their care of us, the charming service, and flexibility shown. We had good food, excellent wine, and a wholly warm experience, in difficult circumstances. You should find an excuse to visit this great little place in the centre of historic Beaune - you'll be glad you did."

"You enter this restaurant down a set of stairs and then you encounter a number of wine boxes. I thought that we had maybe come in the service entrance, but I guess it makes sense this is a wine cave. The interior is very charming and looking at all the wine bottles is a fun way to pass the time waiting for your food. We had a nice half bottle of champagne to start and then a couple of by the glass selections, which is always a bonus if you want to taste, but you aren't in a large enough group to warrant ordering bottles.I had the beef bourguignon, which was rich and delicious and great with the bread. My husband had a duck dish that had pasta as a side. He said it was fine, but nothing special and that my food was much better, so I would say you should probably stick with one of the more traditional dishes. I overheard other diners praising their food as well. We didn't have dessert, but I kind of wish that we had, because they looked really yummy.Compared to most of the dining on our trip, this was an excellent dining value and the menu was extensive enough that most people could find something that they would enjoy. I got the feeling that this might be a family run establishment, so it is nice to patronize those."
