"We were returning to the UK, through Beaune, a family of three, with our spaniel puppy in tow. Freshening up after a long drive, we arrived in Beaune for dinner quite late. Most restaurants were busy, but we asked at Le Parisien, and were told a table would be ready in a few minutes. Seeing on this warm evening that the interior of the restaurant was empty, we asked if we could wait indoors. So we sat sipping cool drinks and poeple-watching, while brief stormy showers drifted through. As soon as it could be cleared we were ushered to a beautiful table, front and centre, and ordered our meal. Now this is not one of those smart over-priced Beaune restaurants where you pay to be associated with the name but we cannot recommend this place highly enough for their care of us, the charming service, and flexibility shown. We had good food, excellent wine, and a wholly warm experience, in difficult circumstances. You should find an excuse to visit this great little place in the centre of historic Beaune - you'll be glad you did."

Nice location in the center of Baune we sat down for lunch. The Chef's salad was plentyful with smoked duck, toast with grilled chevre and melon. Very good. MY husband enjoyed his carpaccio. The service was good.

We had dinner there and felt it was very touristy. The beef bourgeoisie as tough and we had tasted it better at the railway station in Dijon. Most disappointing. Th service was slow and we spent far too long here- our mistake.

We thought the€24 euro menu was very good. The beef bourgignon was good and we enjoyed the local ham terrine starter. Drinks were reasonably priced and staff were attentive and quite fast. A nice place to people watch near the square.

We were found a table whilst the restaurant was full and it all started so well. But my wife ordering only a starter and me eating three courses of a set menu was all too much. Had to wait too long for my main course ( boeuf bourguignon). Then got charged for an item on he set menu that should not have happened. Pity food was good View menu

I have been eating in restaurants in Europe for over 40 years. This was the worst one.The escargot should have been cooked in butter, instead they used oil.We ordered a ribeye steak instead they provided a piece of meat which was not ribeye and tough to the point of being almost inedible. The wine they served in the wine country is not worthy of being poured into a glass. Every restaurant we tried to eat in was totally full, except this one..

We were advised that in Beaune, pretty well all the restaurants are good, so we just sat down. Yep, really good. My wife had a salade cabecou (goat cheese) with a surprising ingredient, cantaloupe. Very good. I had magret (ducks breast), well, perfect. Thick, rosy, and tender, perfectly cooked. Even with vegetables! I say this because the French think of fries, or even mashed potatoes, as a vegetable...fondant au chocolat highly recommended, vanilla/macadamia ice cream. Mmmmm View menu

We both tried the Tartare de Boeuf and it had been a very long time ago we were served everything like it really should be : hand cut raw steak (not minced by machine) and deliciously seasoned, freshly made deep fried skin-on potato, and even homemade ketchup on the side (if you ask). Great lunch.Le Parisien is not pretending to be a high end restaurant but for sure meets all expectations as a brasserie. Try the chocolate fondant dessert with macademia vanilla icecream. A treat !

The food quality and presentation was well above par, for this busy pavement restaurant, which benefits from high foot fall and a prominent location in the centre of town..... but ......the organisation of the front of house meant wine slammed on the table, tables not cleared, waiters checking their mobiles all the time and a general air of very poor organisation . Couldn't even pay Efficiently !! No doubt tourists come and go so little requirement for service. Feel sorry for the chef really. Here for a while but not going back. Someone...anyone .... needs to get a grip. Disappointing.

"Our 5th stay in Beaune and we were recommended this restaurant by the Gite owners.Lovely and Cosy. Has a small private tabled area at the back for small groups/couples but the real experience is up at the counter where you can watch the chef(s) in action. Entertaining and educating. Watch them prepare, cook and present your meal.SERVICEAttentive. Greeted, seated and provided a menu very quickly. Waitress maintained an eye on our wine and water glasses and made sure we were looked after. She was eager to explain all aspects for the set menu and wines.FOODGreat experience watching the chef’s from the 1st instance where they select and prepare ingredients for each dish. Developing the sauces, selecting the condiments and assembling the dishes with care and experience. The lunch was a delight. The dishes were well presented, superbly cooked and a joy to eat.WINEWine by the glass was excellent. We tried 3 different types of the white from dry to sweet. Reasonably priced and enjoyable. My only other observation was that the chef (who I believe is also the owner) often spent time staring into space while waiting for food to complete its cooking ritual and seemed quite distant. I had the feeling he had other things weighing on his mind. Would have been great to have a chat with him to add to the lunch experience. I hope whatever he was thinking about doesn’t stop him from continuing to run La Superb as they serve up a real culinary treat."
