"You enter this restaurant down a set of stairs and then you encounter a number of wine boxes. I thought that we had maybe come in the service entrance, but I guess it makes sense this is a wine cave. The interior is very charming and looking at all the wine bottles is a fun way to pass the time waiting for your food. We had a nice half bottle of champagne to start and then a couple of by the glass selections, which is always a bonus if you want to taste, but you aren't in a large enough group to warrant ordering bottles.I had the beef bourguignon, which was rich and delicious and great with the bread. My husband had a duck dish that had pasta as a side. He said it was fine, but nothing special and that my food was much better, so I would say you should probably stick with one of the more traditional dishes. I overheard other diners praising their food as well. We didn't have dessert, but I kind of wish that we had, because they looked really yummy.Compared to most of the dining on our trip, this was an excellent dining value and the menu was extensive enough that most people could find something that they would enjoy. I got the feeling that this might be a family run establishment, so it is nice to patronize those."

Group lunch in the converted cave. Great ambiance and food. This was pre-booked for our large group - did not try the upper restaurant.

Overpriced and poor quality food and wine. Do yourself a favour and visit La Ligne instead, food is excellent there and so is the service.

Un déjeuner en terrasse le 15 août. Un foie de veau en persillade sans saveur, certainement des produits congelés(ail ?), dommage. Un vin au verre à peine très peu généreux. Je déconseille.

Great service and ambience . We asked our hotel to book as Beaune very busy and difficult to get a table . Staff were very efficient . Only downside French still allow smoking outside and they were next to us .

A recommander

I am sure this restaurant out of season is good but our experience was very disappointing- the food was insipid with the same dressing used on both salads we ordered. The salad was not fresh and the tuna had little flavour. We ordered burger for main course which was OK although the French fries were overcooked. With bottle of wine the cost was 140 euros, we did not feel this was value for money but reflected the tourist opportunity. Service was fine and the restaurant is close to the cathedral so we should have known better!

We accidentally went to a restaurant where we had reservations and found out that the reservation was for the next night. So we decided to walk around and find a place to eat. We stumbled and randomly picked this one. We loved it. We both had the beef cheeks in wine sauce and it was delicious. My wife and I bother loved it. We followed that up with fresh strawberry Crème Bur-lee. Had 4 glasses of wine, 2 mains, and a dessert all under $100. Service was nice. They have outside and then eating down in a cellar which we thought was really cool with numerous bottles of wine. This was a great meal.

This restaurant is not readily visible as you have to go down some stairs because it is in an old wine cellar. Very impressive wine list with 364 choices, and an excellent representation of wines across the appellations of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, including multiple vintages for each wine. Also nice is that they have half-bottles available for those who don't want an entire bottle or want to try several wines. The steak with Burgundy sauce was delicious. For my dining companion, they were able to accommodate her vegetarian preference with no problem. We were the last diners to leave, but they did not rush us or make us feel uncomfortable. The waitress was efficient and flexible....
