"Made several attempts to try book an Afternoon Tea to celebrate a 50th Birthday back on the summer 2019. Constantly phoned over a fortnight but never bothered to answer! So after being recommended I decided to call down to Browns in an attempt to book. Totally wasted my time as admittedly 15 mins prior to closing, staff member abruptly said “I cant give you any information or take a booking now because I’m too busy clearing up! I suggest you phone us!!” Eventually we did manage to book, however, it was a big mistake as no table ready on arrival as promised. Chipped teapot with Luke warm tea, not sure when the sandwiches had been made and bread dry, limp lettuce. Not pleasant! Cakes were marginally better. We will definitely not be returning to this Tea House in a hurry."

"Lindy Lou's is an absolutely delightful tea room in the heart of Crayford that takes you back in time with it's kooky vintage decor and classic china tea pots and tea cups the only way tea should be served in my opinion. The food is delicious with a wonderful array of sandwiches, scones and cakes, served in a vintage atmosphere of helpfulness and courtesy hurrah for non fast food, though should add, the food was fast, just not thrown at me in a paper bag. Highly recommend, it's not just a place to have cuppa, it's an experience."

"We used to visit the Koffee pot quite regularly. The original owners left and someone else took over, it seemed to go down a bit and we stopped going. We recently found out that new people have taken over about 3 months ago. We had lunch in there last week and it was just like old times, lovely food, latte was really nice coffee. We are popping back this week and hopefully we'll have the same result. Staff couldn't be more welcoming, great service."

"My partner and I fancied some real Italian food so visited La Stalla last Saturday evening. The food as always was exceptional my partner had scallops wrapped in bacon with a beautiful sauce and I had calamari which was a large portion really fresh and with a piquant home made tartare sauce. For main course I had spaghetti carbonara which was excellent as only home made sauce can be, creamy but not sickly or too heavy and my partner had the specials menu seafood pasta which was gorgeous with an added extra serving of assorted king prawns squid and clams in a spicy tomato based sauce. For desert I had the oranges in Cointreau which were a juicy delight. So nice to see a menu of true Italian dishes and not the modern pizza type choice all served by an Italian family in comfortable and welcoming surroundings. Easy to park too! Would really recommend."

"I recently visited Owal Cafe in Blackfen, Sidcup, Kent and I must say it was excellent! The cafe is well-organized and modern with a large seating area both inside and out. The menu offered a variety of tasty options and the staff were courteous, friendly, and efficient. The cafe is popular among locals and visitors alike, with convenient parking and easy access for disabled customers. I enjoyed a delicious English breakfast and my wife loved the eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce. I highly recommend Owal Cafe and give it a perfect 10 out of 10 rating. We are already planning to visit again soon for a more relaxed afternoon experience. Great job to the owner and staff at Owal Cafe! - Chris"

"Unless you spend a lot of money! After being customers of Rannah/ was Rischta, for years we decided not to give them our custom anymore.The manager who used to be a very pleasant waiter is now only interested in bigger parties who spend a lot on drink. We don't have huge appetites so didn't spend more than £25/30 a visit. One drink each is enough for us. The last few times he did not even acknowledge us, was too busy fawning over the big drinkers. Then the last visit he was rude to us! He must of forgotten the very large family party we bring in each Christmas.We go to the delightful Sweet Lemon now just down the rd."

"Was recommended by someone to come in to the restaurant so thought we’d give it a try ... After 20mins on waiting around to be served we finally ordered our food , we then sat back down where the freezer was to the right of me and I could see someone pulling food from the freezer(named brands) out with their hands. After waiting a little more people came in to the coffee shop where they sat down , but the previous persons coffee cups had stayed and they were not moved for the whole of the duration of the couple sitting down , no tables were cleaned and other tables had dirty plates on them. There were a couple of cakes , which I witnessed being cut without a glove on and the cake fell into their hand.... A little while later our food came out where the server didn’t know what food he was giving us and went back into the kitchen to shout to the “chef” and ask what is what , while they argued . Our order was wrong and we was asked “what do you want me to do about it , this is what your ordered” when it wasn’t in fact , I felt very intimidated and just said it’s fine leave it. While eating I could see the kitchen and could see the father and son arguing in the kitchen about another issue and were not very quite about it... The food was nice after all but customer service, cleanliness and attitude about the business is all wrong could defo do with some music as it’s very quite and atmosphere isn’t great !"

"I am very impressed how clean this place is when you can enter them not feel bad smell from the kitchen as at other places, much space, nice and friendly place with excellent customer service! my food was very fresh and tasty, very good quality for this money! of course for those who complain about rules on this place. simply try to run their own business if someone sits only with tee and not leave them others to try this beautiful place! I am very happy and will come back safely!"

"This was our first visit to a restaurant since lockdown was eased. We were weary about going, but I had checked the week before and they have put plastic screens up between each table. We sat at our table and were given paper menus. There was actually more choices on the menu. We both had the Reshmi kebabs, which were as good as before lockdown. Our mains were Chicken Shashlic and Chicken Saagwala with side dishes and naan breads. All tasted excellent. The only thing I noticed, I thought the portions were slightly smaller then before lockdown. I noticed from reading some other reviews about the decor. They are in the process of updating this. Did I feel safe in the restaurant. Yes I did and will be back soon"

"Sea bream is one of the best fish and chop shops to go and visit around the area if not in most surrounding areas! Their cod is always fresh and if you’ve not tried their chicken sandwich burger I highly recommend you get down there soon to try it! I came here again yesterday with my dad and the fish we was given was beautiful- no complaints again to Halil and his staff! This is by far the best fish and chips business in south east London."

"Big disappointment! We visited few times before but not this year though. Place definitely overpriced, especially drinks, £7.95 for mojito moctail( lemonade plus some ice cubes with few mint leaves!)It wasn’t even tasty!They used to serve big portions and lovely complimentary salad before your meal, not anymore! Salad was poor, iceberg lettuce with some tomatoes pieces and balsamic vinegar! A z5 year old could make better!only one piece of bread to share In between 3 of us. What happened to this place??It used to be lively welcoming place, always packed! Today- only few tables busy the rest of restaurant empty.I am not surprised.We paid £75 for :1 starter, 2 mains shush kebabs and one child meal, 1 beer and 1 moctail.Left tip of £7, total £82 for a disappointing dinner. Won’t be coming back."

"we have a late Mother's Day cream tea for people from whom you were gluten-free. the food was delicious and enjoyed by all. with the zöliakie I was so impressed by the love to the detail (separed food and own pot of cream. and jam for the skorn). having similar cakes and sandwiches was also an additional bonus and did not make me feel like I was the strange one. the ladies were exceptionally friendly and could not have been more helpful. also magnificent bone china and spoon from all over the world. would be recommended and definitely visit again."

"Arrived and seated straight away drinks ordered and arrived within minutes , ..poppadoms and chutneys arrived very nice , wife had Keralan spiced King Prawns and i had Chicken Tikka Dhansak with Mushroom rice and a Baby aubergine side ..did not have to wait to long even though restaurant busy ...food was excellent very tasty and the Keralan spiced King Prawns were very well presented and included rice ,Dhansak sweet sour and well spiced excellent ,side dishes and rice etc as expected very good, all in all a great meal ,excellent staff attentive but not over the top .very generous portions and mid priced with a couple of rounds of wine and beers , coffees and 12.5% service under a £100 highly recommended."

"Went here with a couple of friends first we wasn’t going to eat but seeing other people’s food come out we change our minds, ordered food it was piping hot cooked to perfection I asked a member of staff what the cooks name was and the person told me it’s our new manager Stacey in the kitchen, hats off to this new manager I would highly recommend eating here, the drinks were perfect as well such a lovely time will be returning sometime in the new year keep up the great work at the golden lion, me and my mates wish the management and all the best for 2024, be back soon."

"Some days ago, my mother and I dined at Zizzi’s to celebrate her recent career progression. We arrived without prior booking at 5:50pm on a Monday evening, at which point it was quiet and cavernous, with a choice of seating. We ordered the mozzarella garlic bread and fried calamari with aioli, drizzled with lemon for starters, to share. They both arrived promptly and were flavoursome without compromising quantity. Not only, was the mozzarella garlic bread simultaneously crisp yet fluffy, oily and salty, and heated to a pleasant degree. But also, the fried calamari was battered aptly, without sacrificing the quantity of the calamari. Soon after, we were met with our own generous dish of prawn linguini, topped with rocket. The linguini was twirled into a neat formation, with a mix of textures. While, the the tomato sauce was smooth and subtly rich, ample for the multiple hot linguini strips, the shaved courgette added a fine crunch, and the prawns constituted to a meaty density. However, within an hour, the restaurant was almost full, with the multitude of loudening conversations making it difficult to hear. Therefore, I would recommend eating early if you are someone who prefers a quieter experience. Also, although I was a student with a discount card, giving me access to 30% off on that particular instance. It is worthy to note that this is likely to be a somewhat costly evening, if you are someone who will order more than one course, or if you are a family, paying for multiple people."

"Every time I eat in this restaurant I forget what a gem it is. The prices are so reasonable with good size portions and exceptional taste. I have tried many other Indian restaurants in the local area but from now on this is a must for me as it ticks all boxes! I wrote the above last time I was here and didn’t post it (thought I had) but had the urge to comment tonight again as realised what a great experience I have each time I eat here. The ambience is perfect for a mid week meet-up with a friend. Great food, great service, reasonable prices all round. Cannot wait for my next visit as the food was divine!"

"Essentially we were thrown out of the restaurant shortly after 11pm. The whole meal was rushed and the quality poor. We went to Shish and Mangal after a lengthy discussion about what to eat (as couples do). There were no customers in the restaurant. Upon arrival at 10pm we were told we had to order before 10:30pm because the kitchen closed at that time. This was not a problem as we were both starving. We ordered a beer, bottle of wine, two starters and two main meals. Everything came out in quick succession. It was a little faster than I would have liked between starter and main meals. Halfway through the main meal we were asked to pay so the staff could close the till. We paid to assist, but I was shocked we were asked at that point of the meal. I had to ask for the music to be put back on at one point, as we were sat in silence. At the end of our meal my partner told the waitress his main meal was not very good. She went to the kitchen and came back saying she agreed it wasn’t as good as it should have been. He asked for a refund and was told he couldn’t have one because they had closed the till! He was asked to call in the next day because the waitress didn’t actually work there, she was helping out as a favour?! We of course felt very uncomfortable about this and told the waitress we were not happy to leave without the refund. She told us she had a bus to get and family to get home to, so we needed to leave. There was nothing she could do. We argued our case politely and the waitress was screaming at us. I told the waitress she was very rude. She told us my partner should have complained at the start of his meal and not at the end. Frankly I was flabbergasted by the whole thing. I asked for details about the owner and again the waitress told me she didn’t have this information, except for a first name, because she was asked to help out as a favour but didn’t know who she was working for? The waitress put a cork in our wine and we left about £75 lighter. No refund and with a bad taste in our mouths. Had we been told we needed to be finished and out of the restaurant by a particular time, we would have ordered to take away and saved money having beer and wine at home. We paid a premium for the the experience of sitting in the restaurant and we were made to feel rushed and a problem for the staff. I will not eat here ever again and I am in no way surprised there were no other customers based on my experience. Save your money and eat elsewhere!"

"nice eating, especially our main courses! our server was very helpful and attentive also very friendly! do you think her name was lily? massive credit to her team! only what we both had a comment was the dress code, all around us are all very nice outfits wearing, but then a table came in our opposite in training pants and training suits. we had many texts that explain how we are not allowed in this dress clothes, has that changed? was very remarkable. I couldn't blame anything else!"
