"I normally only get maybe 1 3 takeaways a month. Also, I’ve been trying to find a good Chinese takeaway in my area for a while but so many have mixed reviews and my local has gone downhill recently So we got a Money Tree menu through the door and decided to risk it...I got won tons 12 for £4 is a bargain! duck in mushroom, special friend rice and prawn crackers. I was not disappointed at all...I was told on the phone it’s be there in 30 mins and it arrives in 20...and was piping hot and fresh. The won tons were lovely good flavour and crispy...I think they had pork and tiny prawns ? in them, and came with sweet and sour sauce. We got two lots of prawn crackers...I guessed one was free but at least we know now they do free prawn crackers with orders. The duck was cooked really beautifully, the sauce had a good, savoury flavour, and my goodness the rice was perfect...not at all greasy, fried so the rains of rice had a good “bite” to them as friend rice should, and the different meats in the rice had good, seperate flavour...so often mixed fried rice has a taste where all the seperate flavours have just mixed together? No...this one the chicken pieces were tender and had a good chicken flavour, the prawns were a good size and the pork was tasty and not fatty. It was so good we ordered again the following night, which is something I never normally do!! They said it’d be 30 40 mins and it arrived in about 30, piping hot again. We got won tons, crab claws, special fried rice and a king prawn dish. Again the won tons and rice were perfect, free prawn crackers were included. Crab claws were as expected, nice surimi product, cooked nice and crispy and served with a nice sweet chilli sauce in a seperate container, and the king prawn dish was SO GOOD...prawns were very large, got lots of them in the dish and they were cooked to perfected and tasted really good. My only areas of nitpicky criticism are: Sweet and sour sauce was missing the second night, we were accidentally given two pots of sweet chilli sauce. But I like spicy food so it didn’t bother me. The pieces of pork in the rice has a teeny bit of red colour but no proper char siu flavour evident. I love char siu so a stronger flavour on the pork pieces would be to my preference All dishes on the menu appear to be westernised palette style Chinese food and not authentic Chinese food. These chefs can clearly cook!! So it’d be nice if they offered some authentic options. There is a braised tofu dish on the menu which I will order next time. ...and because I’m nitpicking I still don’t think tags enough to lower my rating from 5 to 4...this takeaway is great and I’ll definitely be ordering again."

"My first visit here. Came up from Bournemouth to help move my son into a new place on Friday. I stayed here overnight and also had dinner in the carvery. I had booked a table for 7.30 but my son was help up at so changed to 8 then to 8.30. This was no problem at all for them. Staff were really welcoming, helpful and friendly, two in particular were excellent. I have a LivingSocial voucher that offered two courses for 2 people for just £18.99. This had a restricted menu but included the carvery which is what we wanted anyway. Dessert wise, still plenty to choose from even fro the restricted menu. Son had ice cream and choc brownie. I had ice cream, flake and strawberry sauce. As it was quite late, there was no queue at the carvery. Drinks arrived quickly and were waiting on the table for us when we returned with out food. Son had turkey and ham. I had beef and pork. The pork crackling was excellent and plenty on offer. Good portion of meat. Of course we both overloaded our plates and it beat us, even though neither of us had eaten all day. I was surpised at the drinks prices but I don't drink out often. Also surprised that a single gin was £4.50 whilst a double was only £6.50. I missed a trick on my app. Didn't spot a free welcoming gin when ordered at the same time as a full meal!!! I highly recommend the Gordon's Mediterranean Orange gin. Service was quick and with a smile too. Also very clean tables. I highly recommend. My room was also very good (Room 2), ground floor with window onto car park. Despite that, very quiet. Everything I needed although I'd have liked more than 4 little milk portions. We all know you need more than 2 in just one cup of instant coffee sachets! Bed was comfy and my room was very quiet. Tv good too. Nice shower. Just as well, cos the only problem I had was that I couldn't empty the bathroom sink! The plug seemed stuck in and I couldn't find any way of raising it out of the hole. I then thought maybe it was a slow self draining sink but no, an hour later and all th water was still in it. This meant I couldn't wash my hands cos it would overflow, nor could I fill the kettle, cos it would be submerged in a sinkful of water, nor could I brush my teeth or wash my face over it in the morning. Had to do all that in the shower instead, include fill the kettle! But overall, very good value for money and comfy."
