"I have been here three times since the refurb with either my husband or family. Every single time the food and service has been amazing. The very first time they squeezed us in the bar when the restaurant was full and there was a slight...delay which they offered me a free drink for. The food has been beautiful each time and the place looks amazing. I notice there are a couple of one star reviews from people who got a parking fine there. The signage is really clear you put your reg details in the screen at the bar and this allows you to park for free. If people are too cosy to read signs it feels harsh to blame the venue. It also appears the manager has kindly offered to wave these below, despite the negative review. All of the staff are lovely here so I’m not surprised. They also have a great summer 241 cocktail deals on."

A wonderful time in the newly refurbished establishment (my 2nd in 2 weeks) Emma was attentive, helpful made our visit extremely enjoyable, lovely atmosphere, surroundings ambience, the best fish chips I’ve had, thank you.

We came up from Eastbourne to visit the town of my childgood. Called in to the George for Sunday lunch. Food mediocre and service not much better. Now we have an £85 parking fine. We did not see any signs, nor did the staff warn...us. Very poor performance all round, what a way to treat customers!

The George, Hayes has always served fairly mediocre food, but in an attempt to support a local business, thought I would try it again....especially as it has just been refurbished, Drove because it was raining and stayed a couple of hours.... found it still very...average, and left with a 50.00 parking fine. Will not be bothering again. Give it a miss.

I've been going to this pub for years. they have done a terrifying task of revision and it looks great. the bar staff is friendly and good we went there tonight for two teller fish and chips and when we received them. it was embarrassing. a small tasteless piece of fish without a tartaric acid sauce as advertised and 10 greasy three times roasted chips, all totally blanching and for £15 everyone was terrible then to finish this, I went to the toilet to leave one of the cooks after leaving the urinal go straight out without washing his hands, disgusting.
