"Food is a bit over priced for what it is. I had a cheeseburger and fries. Nothing fancy about it so didn't warrant the £16 price tag. Dessert was lovely but obviously a microwave job. (Sticky toffee pudding) My friend wanted a caramel latte but was offered vanilla as replacement. When it arrived it tasted of cinnamon. We reminded the waitress that we'd ordered vanilla, she said yes. It's spiced vanilla But we hadn't been told that. We had to ASK her to replace it! Not great customer service. Lovely interior and well designed. Very large place with big garden out back- they had tables blocking the door way so not sure how you'd get out there?????"

Stem on broccoli hard couldn't bite it Beef tender. chicken pie packed with tasty chicken and seasoned well Portion sizes a little small definitely need sides Salmon and prawn starter tasty but £7.50 for 3 prawns and 2 tiny strips of salmon is a little steep Will visit again but study the menu harder next time"

"We had a wonderful evening at The Bell once again. There were four of us dining on a busy Saturday night, with a wedding also taking place, but the service was still prompt and attentive. I started with the delicious prawn pot, followed by the chicken, bacon, and avocado salad, which was a bit lacking in flavor due to an excessive amount of lettuce. I ended the meal with a mini dessert of lemon cheesecake and a cup of tea."

"hardly a vegetarian selection and what I had was lukewarm and tasteless. none of the workers wore masks that particularly surprised me how most guests I saw do not mask when they went through the restaurant to the toilets etc. the young woman who served us was very pleasant and friendly, but I think we had luck from what I could observe. sad I will not recommend the white hard to anyone who is a shame, as in the deceased we have used it a lot,"

"Nice Decent Place for Food a Great Variety of Drinks. Been going here for sometime now for drinks or dining and always enjoy our visit. Last two visits I've noticed that the service was not up to the level which it was before for example staff taking time your order or not getting around you regularly to check up if anything needed also even after paying the bill I noticed that table was not cleared for sometime. Don't know if it was because of the less staff or just in general. The venue wasn't busy either. One thing for sure was that food was once again top notch. I'd definitely keep going here and recommend others to try this gem of a place on street lane."

"The renovated Asthon is beautiful enough, but their chairs are so stained that it really leaves a bad impression and makes the whole place quite dirty. Not an isolated chair all I looked at! Food is fair, but the frying dinner was not good with hard beef and a laughable bread sauce that had never seen bread crumbs nor one of the traditional flavors, but was rather akin thrown to milk with a random green herbs. The last time I roasted here, I had to ask for fresh Yorkshires when the ones we were all given were hard. Don't cook well, I'm sorry. Our desserts took over 30 minutes to get out until the accompanying coffees were ready and we were mentally ready to go. On a positive note, the service personnel are nice and very happy to help."

"Really enjoyed the dirty burger and fries with the dripping sauce! Staff are nice and service was good. Didn't have a great experience last time with an I.D. situation for my daughter and her partner who's birthday it was and 25, had no I'd on her other than a picture of their passports and driving licence on their phone. Which was refused!, so we left, very unhappily. But we have been back and enjoyed it again. Just a shame that night was ruined. However, we will go back. Just make sure if you are lucky enough to not look 30! Have I.D. the service last night was much better. The food is generally very nice. Just don't have the Rumbaba dessert and is is just sponge cake an certainly not what you expect when you have the real thing in Italian restaurants."

"Went here with wife and kids for wife’s birthday and had a lovely meal. Food was excellent good choice available and service was excellent (Molly). Nice selection of wines available and not too pricey. I opelted for the Malbec which was great with my rib eye steak. Good atmosphere in the restaurant."

"I have been here three times since the refurb with either my husband or family. Every single time the food and service has been amazing. The very first time they squeezed us in the bar when the restaurant was full and there was a slight...delay which they offered me a free drink for. The food has been beautiful each time and the place looks amazing. I notice there are a couple of one star reviews from people who got a parking fine there. The signage is really clear you put your reg details in the screen at the bar and this allows you to park for free. If people are too cosy to read signs it feels harsh to blame the venue. It also appears the manager has kindly offered to wave these below, despite the negative review. All of the staff are lovely here so I’m not surprised. They also have a great summer 241 cocktail deals on."

"The location and premises are lovely. It was the attention to small detail that was missing. A dirty table outside that needed to be wiped. Perhaps Covid stops them putting salt/pepper etc on the tables or flowers so they were Spartan. It became more chilly and we had to ask for the heaters to be put on and then it began to rain. No staff came out to offer assistance. Eventually we had to bring all our plates in. No staff anywhere to help. They were chatting inside. It was fairly busy. I had the Dirty Burger which was delicious although I asked for greenery to replace the bun, which didn’t happen. My friend had the half chicken and had to wipe away fat running on the plate. It was ‘okay’ she said. The French fries were good. The portions for the price are not generous. I like being able to sit by the canal. With the right weather it’s lovely. The idea of a hot drink and a mini desert for £5.95 was a good one which we took up. I’d sum it up with good try but could do better."

"Reserved table wasn’t ready had to eat starter in bar area not what you pay for with the cost of food !!! Eventually went to table waited one 1/2 hours for food just main !!! Forgot our drinks twice !!! Complained to manager twice on second complaint agreed was not good enough and refunded meal, but this was not the point, having service this bad and waiting for food that long with children is not acceptable with the prices the restaurant charges. I had a roast which was just barely edible over cooked and came out cold. We will not be returning or recommending to anyone. Such a disappointment as lovely inside."

"The restaurant is beautifully decorated for Christmas, featuring fairy lights that create a warm and cozy atmosphere. There's an inviting open fire and comfortable sofas where guests can relax with a drink before their meal. The linguine was delicious, though slightly on the sweet side. My friend enjoyed the halloumi cheese bowl, and we both found the meal to be great value for money. The service was friendly and efficient. We are definitely considering returning!"

"very impressed when we went through the door, we were greeted by a friendly host who showed us on our table. our waitress was beautiful, eating a high standard and a beautiful ambiente in the restaurant. the waitress was really about the local area that told my daughter who had just started over the local hunting! we really have a good value for the amount we spent on 6 people. we will finally find ourselves at our next visit. great staff, good food and one to visit again, thank you!"

"The food was very good and the service was polite and friendly. the only issue was the table we where given, as people watches being on the stairway with the constent flurry of staff walking past meant that our experience this time was not to the normal standard. Should i be seated there again i would rather not eat there. i fully understand a table of 2 should not be sat at a larger table but these two tables remove any ambience the restaurant may have. As i was not given the choice when i booked on line i will not be using that format to book again."

"beautiful gastro-pub in the old part of milton keynes. all the servers we had were so friendly, drinks where quickly poured and regularly checked. the food was very nice and distributed to its cost properly. drink prizes where reasonable and not miss the sticky toffee pudding. outside the road sign needs a brighter light. it is hard to see at night the entrance to this beautiful place."

"Unfortunately, our food order didn’t get processed in the system, and we only discovered this when we inquired about our drinks. It took nearly an hour and 40 minutes from our arrival to receive the main course. Once the order was finally processed, we noticed that our drinks had been sitting at the end of the bar for quite a while, and I almost went to retrieve them myself. It seems they might not have enough staff to provide efficient service, especially for the evening rush."

"Came for Saturday lunch to try out as we had been to the Dukes head down the road. We tried sitting outside but the seats were so low and not very comfortable so went inside to eat instead. Waiters aftershave a bit over powering but staff very good. Both my partner had a hankering for fish and chips. Not quite as good as the Dukes head but still very nice. Fish did not seem as plump but the batter was lovely and crispy."
