"I made a reservation for a Father's Day meal for 4 people through OpenTable. When we arrived on time, we were informed that they only had a reservation for 2 people. After some disagreements and a debate about the situation (I had a confirmation email showing 4 people), we were eventually seated in the bar area instead of the main restaurant. It seemed there was a mix-up between OpenTable and The George's booking systems. This resulted in my kids eating very late and becoming quite impatient with the length of our stay, which somewhat dampened the overall experience. However, the food was decent and the three-course meal for £23 felt like good value."

"a small irritation.: when it was a very wet boring day, I asked that the tealight on the table be illuminated. it was done grudgingly as “we don’t normally light the up to 5pm”. they cost 20p for me to buy so they need to be better. we got the impression that we were seen as something disturbing. then we waited for about 20 minutes for someone to take a dessert order. a rather disappointing lunch."

"Very busy but that is to be expected on a Saturday night. Popular pub. Service was a little slow but sad said it was very busy. Waitresses were friendly and cheerful and didn’t let the fact they were slammed slow. Food was good. What is to be expected from Mitchel’s and butler. Atmosphere was good. We have booked for Christmas and are looking forward to the feel of the place on the 25th. Lovely evening."

"Food is a bit over priced for what it is. I had a cheeseburger and fries. Nothing fancy about it so didn't warrant the £16 price tag. Dessert was lovely but obviously a microwave job. (Sticky toffee pudding) My friend wanted a caramel latte but was offered vanilla as replacement. When it arrived it tasted of cinnamon. We reminded the waitress that we'd ordered vanilla, she said yes. It's spiced vanilla But we hadn't been told that. We had to ASK her to replace it! Not great customer service. Lovely interior and well designed. Very large place with big garden out back- they had tables blocking the door way so not sure how you'd get out there?????"

"the renovated asthon is beautiful enough, but their chairs are so stained that it really leaves a bad impression and makes the whole place quite dirty. not an isolated chair all I've seen! eating is fair, but the roasting was not good with hard bark meat and a laughable broth sauce that had never seen brothcrumbs, nor one of the traditional aromen, but rather thrown with milk with a random green crumble. the last time I roasted here, I had to ask for fresh yorkshires, because the ones we all gave were hard-rocked. really do not cook well, I'm sorry. our desserts took minutes to get out, and with what time the accompanying coffees were all finished and we were mentally ready to go. on a positive note, the Servier staff are beautiful and very happy to help."

"my friends and I visited the fox, menston on Sunday to celebrate a special birthday and I could not have been happier with all the experience. the team was very accommodating and allowed us to arrive early to decorate the table and put us before we were due, the drinks were nice and the eating was absolutely delicious. our appetizers came out immediately and looked nice, the main courses were good the money worth, I could not believe the amount of food we received and the dessert was perfect. we were served by the meal of laura, which was absolutely beautiful, she was friendly, patient and in the giggles that was brilliant, she made the experience that was much more special. many thanks to the whole team, but especially to laura, to make the day so unforgettable."

"Went for dinner on a Saturday night in December and selected from the Christmas menu. Mistake one. Cold turkey, hard sprouts and 1 carrot and 1 parsnip between 2 adults. Mistake two. Nearly 2 hours to deliver a 2 course meal, obviously down to booking in as many people as they can to gain profit. Mistake three. Why would a head chef let anything like this leave the kitchen? Surely a so called premium restaurant would have a head chef to stop this happening? Mistake four. Wrote to manager who stated next time we visit, we need to mention this bad experience and they will make sure we have a perfect experience this time. Never heard anything so ridiculous in all my years attending so called premium restaurants. You pay premium prices you expect premium food and service, the Mosbrook is miles off the later."

"As ever, the Black Horse came up trumps. A wonderful experience for the friend I took this time. And thankfully the weather was lovely so that we could sit outside, have a drink and wave at the long boats going by. The only disappointment in an otherwise perfect meal was the minuscule piece of crackling I was served barely visible. I ordered the pork roast because I love crackling and this needs to change. I would recommend the Black Horse without hesitation."

"My fiancée and I frequent this restaurant often for lunch or a nice afternoon drink. Today, we stopped by after a wedding planning meeting to relax. We ordered our food and a kind gentleman brought us our utensils. He struck up a conversation with us and showed genuine interest in our day. Our meals arrived promptly and were delicious as always. "Waiting staff made several mistakes without any apology or trying to rectify the issue for us and we had to leave without eating. Firstly we had to swap an espresso martini as there was more foam than there was liquid and it came back exactly the same. My partner ordered Coca Cola and the waiter brought out a corona beer. My Sunday dinner main came out stone cold and I had to ask to return it. Again the waiting staff did not apologise for this. When the food came back without the vegetables on the plate, the sides we ordered were then cold and the beef was no longer pink, so the meal had clearly been stuck under an oven to heat it. Then the meal came out with no roast potatoes but were replaced with parsnips. It looked like it had just been thrown onto another plate after reheating but without half the components of the meal. After all this we decided that we didn’t want the meal anymore due to how badly the staff had handled this. One or two small errors is understandable but to have so many across the team (bar, waiting staff, and kitchen) is inexcusable and especially the lack of any kind of apology or enthusiasm to try and sort the situation. They offered no compensation for this other than to take the mains off the bill, and again there still was no apology and they didn’t even say goodbye when we left. It’s such a shame as me and my partner came the week before and had a lovely experience so we only put it down to the staff that were on that day. We also heard two other tables nearby complaining about other things to the staff, so it must not have been just us experiencing problems that day. Never had auch a poor experience in a restaurant, and this was all despite it being a quiet Sunday with not many guests."

"Really enjoyed the dirty burger and fries with the dripping sauce! Staff are nice and service was good. Didn't have a great experience last time with an I.D. situation for my daughter and her partner who's birthday it was and 25, had no I'd on her other than a picture of their passports and driving licence on their phone. Which was refused!, so we left, very unhappily. But we have been back and enjoyed it again. Just a shame that night was ruined. However, we will go back. Just make sure if you are lucky enough to not look 30! Have I.D. the service last night was much better. The food is generally very nice. Just don't have the Rumbaba dessert and is is just sponge cake an certainly not what you expect when you have the real thing in Italian restaurants."

"The restaurant is beautifully decorated for Christmas, featuring fairy lights that create a warm and cozy atmosphere. "The food was very good and the service was polite and friendly. the only issue was the table we where given, as people watches being on the stairway with the constent flurry of staff walking past meant that our experience this time was not to the normal standard. Should i be seated there again i would rather not eat there. i fully understand a table of 2 should not be sat at a larger table but these two tables remove any ambience the restaurant may have. "The seats in the bar area need to be cleaned. The restaurant was empty apart from two tables with children on them and we were seated in between. One of the children was young and whinged all through the meal! (Not his fault, as he was probably tired and needing his bed). It might be a good idea not to place a couple wanting a nice meal and a chat next to families, when there are plenty of other available tables. The mushroom soup was delicious, but my sausages had been microwaved and were too well done. The staff were very friendly and attentive."

"It was our second visit to Brampton mill.Both times we had a Sunday roast.The roast this time was not as nice as the first time.My Yorkshire was really burnt to a cinder this time.I did mention it to the waitress when she was collecting the plates.She said yes it does look burnt I am so sorry.I could not eat it. The rest of the roast was nice but overall not as tasty as our first visit."
