"Back in 2018/19 my friend and I were on maternity leave with our eldest children, and would often meet in these tea rooms and enjoy lunch, probably once a month or so, and loved it here. We are on maternity leave again and thought it would be nice to return with our second babies. I can only say there must have been a change in management since we used to go, as we were made to feel unwelcome almost instantly. I arrived first, with my 10 month old in a pram. I was greeted by a woman who asked how many people I needed a table for. I told her it would be me, but daughter, and my friend and her baby coming. The woman asked me if that meant there would be another pram, I said yes, to which she sighed straight away and made it clear she was not happy. Soon after this my friend turned up and we both suggested we could leave the prams somewhere out of the way, we were both told there was nowhere out of the way to put them… I saw plenty of places, and even where we were sat had plenty of room once the surplus chairs were removed. We were not offered high chairs for our little ones, we had to ask. Whilst we were eating I admit the babies did make a bit of a mess on the floor, as they dropped a bit of their food…but this is what babies do. The food was around their high chairs, it hadn’t been thrown across the room, or in the path of anybody else, it was just around the bottom of their high chairs. We of course had every intention of cleaning this up ourselves, we were just planning on waiting until we had finished eating to do so…however the same woman made remarks about the mess on the floor so unfortunately my friend and I felt obligated to interrupt our lunch and constantly clean up…. Don’t get me wrong if it seemed as if we were intending to leave without clearing the mess I would absolutely expect the staff to say something, I just feel that they could have let us enjoy our lunch before making comments to make us feel uncomfortable. In hindsight alarm bells should have rung when it was clear arriving with prams was a problem, I wish we had chosen another place to go that was a bit more baby friendly. We won’t be making that mistake again. A shame really as the food was lovely, and the tea rooms are a beautiful, quaint setting to have lunch, but the service did let it down I’m afraid."

"I wouldn’t come here again.. As my first time in Danbury, there wasn’t much options of places to eat. I’d walked in here in hope of having something for brunch, and seeing it attached and working aside the deli, expected decent dishes. The place looked run down. I’m assuming it was suppose to be a vintage style tea room, but it needs a deep clean, some redecorating, love and attention. Don’t get me wrong, the Lady was friendly who served me, but she was either busy doing something on her computer or round the back in the kitchen, having a conversation with another member of staff, loud enough for the few customers in the front to hear, about someone who was asking general questions about the place and probably wasn’t satisfied either. I was close to just walking out without paying, but had the decency to pop my head round and ask to pay. So attention to customers is needed, checking to see if they need anything. I had eggs Benedict and a mocha. I wouldn’t say the meal was worth 8.95. The eggs looked sad. Taste wise, it was okay but it wasn’t wow. The presentation could of been much better, and again, not sure if it’s suppose to be vintage related, but just plain white plates would have been better. I know it was miserable outside which didn’t help, but the lighting and brightness was dark. Cobwebs and rested dust on lights, overhead fan, windowsills and other places. Floor needed a good sweep and tables needed cleaning. It wasn’t exactly busy so one of the ladies could have swept and cleaned the tables as soon as people left. Most of the chairs were stained, the wallpaper shows wear and tear, and the bathroom tiling looked unpleasant. Toilet sign needed and lock on the bathroom cupboard, as bleach was hanging out. Deep clean and air freshener needed."

"This place is Awful and has not trained the bouncers at the door how to greet the customers because of whom probably they are getting their salaries from.I and my friends visited this place last night , we forgot our ids so we went home and got the Ids and when went inside. While going inside my friend guy friend was carrying a man bag was told that he’s not allowed to get the bag inside when we asked him for a reason for the same he didn’t answer any thing but at the same time I was allowed with my lady bag in there. We offered him if he can check his bag and allow him inside then but he insisted us to go back hide your man bag inside and then you can enter which is so disrespectful and bad. Then we went inside enjoyed our selves so by the end of time we were leaving the same bouncer who let us in started abusing and assaulting us when we said don’t touch he said “I’ll show you what I can do and even touch you”.He pushed me badly and grabbed my friend’s arm and dragged him out of the club. This incident has shocked me from inside out that what kind of Racist and sexist behaviour is this. For the first time in my life I have seen such heartless behaviour inside a club this is not even human. If a women can get a purse that’s allowed and man cannot isn’t this unfair and sexiest ?? We group of people spent almost 300 pounds in this club and this club gave us a very hard time, forget the service they can’t even match the basic standards on even humanitarian grounds or any place if compared.People who wants to have a good quality time “PLEASE AVOID Going to this bar as this is beyond the expectations of insults and sexism and racism you’ll face in your entire life”.I would never visit this place again and never recommend to my friends."
