"Have been several times before and all fine. Went today during a quiet period about 2pm. We ordered drinks and food. We were told at time of ordering they had run out of granary but we were told we could have sourdough bread for which we opted. The meals came first after 10 minutes at which point we asked waitress for our drinks. These eventually arrived when we were halfway through our food. On paying we queried the amount as felt it was a bit high for what we had. Was told that we were being charged £2 each for the sourdough bread. £4 in total extra which was not notified to us at time of ordering. The staff showed no interest in resolving the issue, which was unfortunate as we had enjoyed previous visits. We appreciate that dogs are accommodated on outside table but at time of visit there were 2 dogs at adjacent table and another behind us being fed sausages inside the cafe where we were. Not the best environment to eat and drink in the middle of town so we won’t be returning."

A small breakfast spot near the market which is moving shortly. Busy for breakfast with an interesting menu and not just a usual fryup. Pet friendly as well

I highly recommend eating here! The staff are very welcoming and the food is to a very high standard. I had the fluffy pancakes and they were delicious, the fruit and flowers made it look as beautiful as it tasted.

Our family tradition is to have a celebratory birthday meal for our Triplets. The food never, ever dissapoints and the staff are always warm, welcoming. Please visit when you can. Highly recommend! Thank you for making our children's 11th birthday brunch so memorable and for singing happy birthday

It’s such an amazing place!! I got their Fluffy Delicious Pancakes, and they were AMAZING!! so tasty with the perfect amount of toppings and the perfect balance of sweetness, honestly the best brunch I’ve had in Chelmsford!!! Emma and Ellie were amazing servers, checking on me to make sure I had everything I needed and that everything was good, even though it was super busy!! View menu

This is by far the best place to eat breakfast in Chelmsford. The food is always fresh, looks and tastes like it’s been cooked with love. Don’t be put off by the slightly higher prices, it’s very much worth every penny! The Staff are very polite and attentive also. There is nothing I could fault here, other Cafes take note! This is how it should be done!! Would highly recommend

We have been to Queenies several times now and have always had brilliant food and service! My Dad is a very fussy older man and even he loves it here too and no negatives from him high praise indeed haha! I have a dairy allergy and it's so difficult to find inclusive places who either make adaptions as standard or are willing to on an adhoc basis I've never had any issues with Queenies, they've always been so accommodating!
