"This is the first time here and it won't be the last. The food was excellent, staff very hard working and respectful. I will definitely be coming back for the lovely breakfast."

"A lovely independent cafe which serves a delicious array of breakfasts, sandwiches and other great lunch options. They also have a mouth watering selection of cakes. Combined with attentive and friendly service from the staff, I highly recommend Walnuts Cafe for couples, friends or even in your own company. "In my opinion, this is the best Chinese takeout in Aberdeen. However, the service can be inconsistent, ranging from excellent to only average. Today, I had only two prawns in my curry, whereas in the past week there were at least 7 or 8. I also had an extra dish added to my order without my consent and was charged extra for it. When I asked about the price, the staff member seemed disgruntled."

"I took my man for date night and I was very hopeful about brasserie abode, as I did on my way to home from the work and the decor looks very stylish and beautiful. the black and white flowing and brass fantasies delight a jazz age ambiente supported by the music choices. the restaurant is down and the lighting and seating feel very intimate and cozy. the menu is a little small, but perfectly shaped, the only thing I would ask is the pricing of the starter at such a similar price point to some of the cheaper netzen. we decided to make a couple of baby cots before the main course, and then dessert. the food was beautifully presented on the right china (no silly boards or crooked here! and seasoned and sauces served in porcellan casting of muscheln. we chose the lobster spaghetti and a classic fish and chips, both were delicious light and crispy teig on the fish was perfect. both went well with a picpoul de pinet from the extensive wine list, a really excellent selection. there is a good selection of classic desserts, and sticky toffee pudding sent us to sit well after home. a beautiful meal for two for less than 90 £. we would definitely recommend and will go back to this restaurant!"

"Ambience and decor is pretty, rustic industrial vibe with live music. We ordered; chicken n waffle recommended by waitress however chicken was dry over cooked, really crispy and not in the good way), chicken shake much better cooked juicy chicken, quite a big serve but FYI doesn’t come with anything else), so we also got chips and salad which were both pretty decent). House white wine was lovely. Spent about £70 altogether and was nice dinner overall but not sure I’d rush back."

"had a nice family dinner with good choices for all including a child and a vegetarian. the two veggie burger options were great, haggis nachos fab and the salmon salad plentiful. the chips were excellent! only slightly left off was the pizza that had a little heavy base for our lust. beautiful clean toilets and covid safe with lots of space between tables. staff efficient and friendly! would definitely return and recommend everyone."

"Absolutely appalled. Went in the summer and had the steak for two which was good. Went this autumn and ordered the special roast pigeon and we have never had a worse dish in our lives. We are familiar with the meat, having eaten several varieties of pigeon before, but the meat was extremely tough and impossible to cut in the way that it was served. We flagged this to the manager and asked for a sharper knife, then we sent it back to be cut up for us. In total we had about two small mouthfuls of meat each (for £60 excluding drinks!! . When we asked for the bill we then explained that we were seriously disappointed to Martin the manager. Having worked several years in the service industry myself as a waiter I know that I would have offered a discount (especially to a returning customer which we mentioned!! . Instead the manager took my card and put the card machine in my face whilst we were still explaining how disappointed we were with our meal. I am still in shock."

"The food was delicious. I am accustomed to fast food restaurants where my meal usually takes over 5 minutes to prepare. However, at this restaurant, my lunch was served promptly. I was able to relax and enjoy my meal without feeling rushed. Overall, everything was great and everyone was friendly and smiling."

"Brilliant. In the middle of the world Cup an oasis away from the Football oiks Yes it was shown on a TV (no problem with that) but doesn 't over-rule everything else! Not a huge range of ales, but the Pies make up for it. Superb taste, and plenty of it. Will definitely return."

"I booked a weekend getaway for my husband's 50th birthday and reserved a table for our evening meal at 7pm. We had a booth by the window, which was very nice. However, we were surprised to find that we were being waited on by the bar staff, who were not as attentive as the regular waiting staff. We both ordered steak - I asked for a medium rare ribeye and my husband requested a medium rump without any blood. When our meals arrived, my steak was cooked medium and my husband's was rare, so we sent them back. After a 20-minute wait, they returned to our table, but my husband's steak was still rare and overflowing with blood. It was clear that they needed a chef who could properly cook steaks. Additionally, we purchased an expensive bottle of champagne but had to pour it ourselves. Overall, it was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience for my husband's birthday celebration."

"we enjoyed our first visit in the re vamped abode. eating (big French onion suppenstarter for both of us and shattered fish chips for me and roast chickens for my partner) was very delicious and beautiful presented. there were not many diners and the bar area was empty, so not too much ambiente, but the dinge did not spoil. the employees were very competent and delivered a large service. only that which was not too sharp was a bit cold, it seemed that there was an air cone unit on our table. it was not an important thing, but they could do with making the place something cosier."

"I don’t like to write bad reviews but this time is an exception as the stay in the hotel was so bad. I usually like hotels in old buildings but this one really needs to be renovated. Very old rooms: bed smell, weak windows, no wifi connection, old carpet floor, broken walls…. When I told the reception guy during late evening that my room had a really strange smell, his only comment was “oh really”. We had to ask 5 !! times if we could get a new key card to enter the room, as the card was never working. This can’t happen in a 4 star hotel. Really bad value for money: we spent 250£ per night!! For this price I expect a much better construction and service. The only good part was the breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel, for us it was a waste of money."

"We stayed in the Ash Barn Annex in October for one night before a flight next day . The food in the pub was ok , however the room we were given was awful , room . The convection heater on the wall did...not work , there was a small fan heater so we used that but it was still cold in there . There was just a sheet on top of the mattress no protector and there was something that looked like blood on the mattress . The bed was uncomfortable and creeky . There was a rusty toilet brush in the bathroom and the mirror had splash marks on it . The kettle had old water in it and loads of lime scale . We left our car in the pub car park for a week while we were on holiday , this was fine . It’s a shame the room let it down ."

"the name is what attracted me to this place to be a great fan of the romans, and this place in my neighborship was a perfect excuse to have another dinner outside. Of course, not doing anything with the book, the decoration is still not bad. I think they had recently redeveloped it. they have a 2 for 1 offer of cocktails at the weekend, in the evening, so we started the evening with cocktails that were good and for the discount, a very good offer. eating is average, I ordered artichoke and brie tart, which was quite good, but the fish cake (in general) was very good, nothing great about it. also they can make so much better with their service, but a large room for improvement there."

"We managed to secure a last-minute reservation at this restaurant, which was convenient after a day out. We arrived at 5pm and promptly placed our drink orders with the waiter. Unfortunately, there was a 20-minute delay before our food order was taken and an additional 15-20 minute wait after finishing our starters for the plates to be cleared. Throughout our meal, we observed staff members standing around chatting, using their phones, and eating. The main course was satisfactory, but no one checked on us for sauces or more drinks; we had to go to the bar to get their attention. Overall, it was not a pleasant dining experience and we have no intention of returning in the near future."

"Where can the current menu be found ? Update 6/12/23 Called in for lunch yesterday around 13.30 had trouble finding a parking space, luckily a couple who were shopping across the road, not from the Red Lion went back to their car and vacated the space for us to pull into. That was one hurdle over, walked into the pub expecting it to be packed solid due to the volume of vehicles in the car park only to find a handful of locals at the bar. Tables and chairs were plentiful, but no sign of any food about, being eaten or otherwise, no sign of cutlery, condiments or anything else that implied food was for sale. Previous reveuwee’s state nice food and give high scores , fail to understand this. To all intense and purposes this was a pub and nothing else even though there was a sandwich board at the roadside, needless to say we left and had a nice all day English Breakfast at The Cabin B o C. So really you did us a favour."
