"I was in the february at a weekend with my wife too gassed in this restaurant and had previously inspected the locally from the outside and was initially whether the situation and certifying was somewhat skeptical. although the restaurant was rugged would allow us a space for two people. Sweet, rice and sauces met our taste. very tasty.We have, because the restaurant was fully booked, had to wait for dinner, well, but we take in the time that we had enough time for eating so that we did not have any trouble at all. a tasty beer and a good wein have made the wait tolerable.The waiters were very striving and were very quick on the go. the owner of the restaurant took himself when it had become a little quieter and we wanted to pay the time for a talk with us in which he explained the philosophy of the restaurant and the special spreading of the dishes. This is not too often experienced in our hectic time.We will visit this restaurant very safely because of the really good food and the good services, if the sense " stands for one in it".Last, but not least, the pricing was completely ok."

"I never expected good Greek food in Germany and my surprise turned into delight when I decided to go to Akropolis in Dortmund. A great choice of food and a pleasant ambience! The restaurant is also good to host small celebrations. In fact, if you...would like to surprise your friends, you could not do better than gifting them a gift voucher to dine here. Your friends would love it. Being a chicken lover, I enjoyed the suflaki especially the cheese baked one. Much different from our Indian chicken nevertheless very very tasty! While you are there try the baked potato with garlic butter never mind your weight. I could not resist trying the cinnamon and lemon halva. My friend ever the weight watcher could not resist either and he tried the yogurt with nuts and honey. Both were delectable."

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und es gab auch keine langen Wartezeiten. Die Futo Maki Rollen habe ich heute zum ersten Mal gegessen und sie haben mich sehr positiv überrascht. Durch den Salat hatte man eine nicht scharfe palate cleanser Alternative zum Salat. Die Suppe war eine super Option für meinen Freund, der kein großer Sushifan ist. Sie war angenehm würzig. Alles in allem eine super Erfahrung. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen."

"Staying in the Volksgarten Mengede hotel, having dinner in the hotel restaurant Mengeder Volksgarten is always a good idea. It’s also a good idea when staying or living nearby. I visit from The Netherlands at least once a year and never pass over...the nice dinner selection on offer. This time around I was greeted by a professional looking waiter, polite and friendly. After taking my order he presented me with a nice salad starter which was rich in flavour and crispy fresh. As a starter, I ordered the Onion soup. It came topped with a piece of bread, handsomely covered with melted cheese. The flavour of the cheese was nice, not too bland and not too strong either, just.. right. As for the onion soup itself, it had a peculiar taste. Not bad at all, but different from what is common. They incorporated a handsome amount of herbs in the soup which might account for the strong alternative flavour. It was a common size. Mailänder Schnitzel My main course was quite large. Plenty of pork to go around, covered with tomatoe slices and topped with a handsome amount of melted cheese. As a side I ordered the Bratkartoffeln, fried potatoe slices with bits of onion, bacon crumbs and some herbs, A very common and typical German food but oh so delicious, way better than a helping of fries in my humble opinion. If you require some salad on the side, you’ll be happy to hear there is unlimited use of the salad bar included. Help yourself from a nice variety of readily prepared ingredients and choose from dressings. Dessert is always a surprise at this restaurant. What can I choose from? Or is there just a day special? Or no dessert at all? This time though they actually had a separate dessert card! Several selections to choose from my choice for today: the Coupe Danmark. It comes close to what is commonly sold as a Dame Blanche: some scoops of vanilla icecream, topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. The Coupe Danmark also incorporated chocolate flakes. Nice addition! Taste is as expected. As it is that time of the year, the restaurant same as the rest of the hotel had the christmas decorations on display, complete with a miniature Santa as the centerpiece of every table. To end the visit to the restaurant, I usually have them add the bill to the chamber account. No problem this time either. Or was it........... In the end they were a bit unclear about it, asking several times if I was going to pay cash or card when paying the hotel bill, even though that moment would come only tomorrow. From all the hesitation, though I’m not quite sure, I concluded the restaurant is not a part of the hotel anymore but a seoarately run business. Anyway, they figured it out eventually so let’s just say this situation was new to them, so I’m sure you won’t run into this bit of unclarity at the end of a nice dinner once you’re here.. On account of that ‘startup problem’ I’m not lowering the rating as it was a perfectly well taken care of dinner and rate it stars. If you haven’t tried this place yet, be sure to do so! "because of the positive reviews at google we have been eating at nico again. we were here the first time before approx. 4 years and then have visited other locals.The ambiente is typical Greek, white and light blue and lots of wood dominate the interior. the chairs are quite simple wooden chairs and I found them a bit hard.Nico immediately came to our table and took up very friendly the beverage order. this was also brought very fast.The spears range from small appetizers, some salads, 2 suppen and the typical Greek dressed up to carving and pizza.
