"About once a year I think to myself ooh I really fancy a Chinese' we used the golden pavilion as live near by we ordered chicken chow mein, sweet and sour king prawns, chips and curry sauce. We phoned the other through and told...it would be ready to collect in mins being hungry you think woo hoo' but then it does make you wonder how they can produce a meal so fast! Anyway the food was hot and edible although we can't say we particularly enjoyed it the prawns were rather tough and coated in a not very pleasant tasting batter. The sweet and sour sauce was rather runny and tasteless. The chow mein was bland and greasy the curry sauce seemed to be packet mix.... Chinese takeaway used to be a cheap' option but now it seems so expensive for what seems inferior quality ingredients. After eating this we were immediately reminded why we only seem to ever have one Chinese a year there not especially nice and are very overpriced!!! We'll stick with Indians in future!"

"OUNDLE PUB CRAWL (18-08-23) Pub #3 Had a near 20 min walk to get to the pub on a hot day, looking forward to a cold pint and after ordering and getting it, taking it to our table it was flat and warm!!! Not good at all, asked the bar lady for wi-fi code and just told its BT nothing more? No PUB name wi-fi only pay as you use avaliable? Not very welcoming at all but regulars were and hotel guests, so we left half of our pints and walked back into town. Our photo with the Pints was taken before we had had a drink: A bad visit!!!"

"This is not our first visit and it’s testament to a great pub that it’s a very popular venue. Always has local ales and the choice of food is absolutely excellent. I’d you’re into music, they have events going on regularly Service is second to none and the staff are friendly and efficient . Food and drinks prices are totally affordable and considering the quality of food it’s also surprisingly good value. Location is excellent and parking is no problem whatsoever. If the car park’s full there’s plenty of safe on-road parking outside as the village is quiet. Can’t recommend this place enough."

"This was my first visit to the dream kitchen and the intention to come back and try other tempting menu dishes (the breakfast looks great). We take tea with tasty sandwiches, scons with cream and jam, curdled and very well prepared and served with a variety of tea or coffee. My friends and I sit inside, but there are tables with parasols outside if you prefer with a beautiful view of the countryside. The service was friendly and fast, thank you very much. Large parking. I'm so glad I found this little jewel and I'm waiting for my next visit."

"The coffee was good as was the tea, the cakes where ok and did gluten free which I am told was a nice cake chocolate and orange. However, they seem to allow dogs all over the place including the tables. If you are a dog walker that may be acceptable, but to allow the inside the main café uncontrolled is not acceptable. We sat outside overlooking the lake which was quite pleasant but would not go back due to the strange smell in the café and the dogs everywhere."

"Today was the first time my daughters and I had visited Frankies.. Had lived in Rushden for 6 mths, and yet somehow, I walked past it...and didn't really know it was there?? I feel so terrible....Very good value, a good choice of menu, and you don't have to wait long, and its nice to see your food being cooked..Great staff, want to make sure you are ok, and are friendly...I recommend it to all, but if you are on a slight budget, and want to treat the kids like myself, that is the place to go...As I said, very good value, as nothing really over a tenner...and you would spend that on a plastic burger, from Macdonolds...I live 13 miles away, don't drive, but would without a shadow of a doubt, make an effort to go there again...I worked in the food industry, and makes me a little fussy, and I always almost make complaints other places I have eaten, and my kids were shocked that I couldn't fault it in anyway...Also, VERY,,VERY CLEAN...Bright and cheery..."

"I went to Zizzi's to catch up with some friends after the lockdown. Despite having visited several restaurants in August, I was surprised to see this one operating at full capacity with tables close together and no protective screens. Apart from hand sanitizer at the entrance, it was pretty much business as usual. The food and service were decent, but the waitress did not wear a mask and did not practice social distancing. Every table was occupied in the restaurant. The prices were reasonable, and we both enjoyed three courses for £17.95 each. The dishes were served hot and quickly. The cherry ice cream was particularly delicious, although the dessert options were limited to tiramisu or ice cream. Overall, it was an okay meal, but I couldn't wait to leave due to the uncomfortably crowded environment."

"We didn 't know it was here until we wondered into the downstairs shop, had a look around and my wife said Let 's go and have a coffee upstairs and see what it 's like . We 're so glad we did. A lovely 1st floor café. It was clean, tidy, quite busy without being noisy and full on. Found a seat very quickly and had lovely Tea, Coffee and cake. The staff were very polite, very nice food displays, so all in all, a very very good first impression, soon to be repeated!"

"Phoned and booked a table for two, Wed evening. Friendly greeting and choice of table. Good choice of Beer and Wine. Nice chat to Mine Host , who then took our order. Very good choice of menu to which we both chose a starter, followed by Ribeye Steak. We couldn’t have made a better choice, the steak was cooked to perfection and came with all the trimmings and ooh the Stilton sauce!! Unfortunately we hadn’t left any room for a pudding, but I bet they would have been delicious! A lovely meal at a reasonable price! Thank you Paul and Georgia, we will return "

"If you want tea and cake, let's face it you can get it pretty much any supermarket or eaterie. If you want a generous piece of really delicious cake and a nice cup of tea as well as friendly and helpful customer service, well just go to Mrs. B's! Sausage rolls are nice too if you want something savoury! Last time I went I had just been to hospital and was feeling a bit sorry for myself, but a visit to Mrs B's soon changed that. It doesn't take much to put on a smile and chat in a friendly way with your customers but it does make a real difference. Mrs. B's is great if you want to sit down for a light lunch with family/friends or just pop in for a quick cuppa while you're waiting for someone to go shopping. Highly recommended!"
