"We needed a relaxed break and some lunch after attending a close friend's funeral. We knew she loved walking in the park and having a good coffee and snack on the cafe terrace, so it was the obvious place for us to go. . It was a shame that the only veggy options on the menu at the moment are a jacket potato or a cheese and onion pasty (as I cannot eat potato) but we had a warm welcome and the member of staff was very helpful, which we appreciated. My husband had the jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw which was excellent and very tasty, with a generous and fresh salad garnish. I much enjoyed my lunch too and the coffees were great. We are not local, but hope to visit again when we are in the area.... and look forward to a wider menu....it's a lovely relaxing place to spend some time by the water, we had a very enjoyable visit."

Had coffee and cake after a visit to the Barnwell Country park. Sat outside on the terrace. Everywhere covid aware. Friendly young lady serving, prices not too bad.

Nice little cafe in a small but lovely country park, very friendly and excellent staff. Food was very good if a little pricey, definitely would recommend the posh sodas

Fab local cafe, great environment, friendly staff. I’m a vegan but that’s no issue with their cakes! They also have the best coffee in the area, and very cute dogs visiting all the time

Nice and unique cakes- we shared a caramel and apple. There was plenty of options including gluten free ones. The ambience is relaxing and calm, especially outside overlooking he pond: perfect time for cake on a Sunday afternoon. The interior was very pleasant and the chairs were comfy.

A pretty Little café with a nice selection of light bites and cakes. It’s ideally suited for a cuppa after a short walk round the park and excellent for snacks after the kids have been in the play park. The only thing recently is that we’ve turned up before 4pm and it’s been shut… have the opening hours changed?

stopped here before heading for a walk around the country park, served by a very pleasant lady working on her own at the time, we had coffee and cake which was really nice and they offered a variety of food and snacks. Covid track n trace system in place and hand sanitiser. I would definitely recommend here for refreshments if visiting the country park. One way system in and out too.

Situated just off the carpark past the visitor centre, this is a lovely little cafe. Prices were reasonable we had a latte and bacon roll. The Bacon Roll was in a large bap and filled with three rashers of bacon, very good value for £4.95. They do basic fare with jacket pototes, paninis, cakes etc. We sat outside on the decking overlooking one of the lakes, but there is inside seating and by the entrance picnic tables and a playground for children if you are visiting with them. Lots of dogwalkers calling in for a post wander coffee, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.

This is such a quaint little cafe in an amazingly beautiful setting of the country park. It has the option to sit inside, or out on a small deck space which overlooks the most gorgeous scene of water, reeds and wildlife. The drinks are decent, as is the food. However, despite being very friendly, it was felt that the staff didn't really listen well to your orders and got easily flustered with any order made with more than 3 items. In fact, one coffee wasn't made, one was made wrong and the sandwiches we ordered had one missing as well. If you have time to wait and don't mind repeating yourself a few times to be sure your order is correct, the food and drinks are worth the wait and the settin...

"a difficult review when the restaurant tried to provide the service that I am sure they wanted. a busy Saturday midday in December, all the tables were tightly packed, there were no ceiling ventilation or were all windows open to provide covid ventilation protection. the menu is large with a lot of choice. we went for a selection of starters to share under the family. most were very small dishes, the flower flowers bites consisted only small floccules. I think that this was too expensive for everyone. for the net I divided half a steak/ale cake and crispy chili bark. the bark in the torte was chewing and blande, the chips rode in a customs of their life, and the muddy peas were simply crushed, cultivated garden. the chili beef on the other side was sensational, fully spiced, steaming hot and loads of it, with rice and crack. the dishes could no longer differ in quality and taste. similar mixed results were reported from the rest of the table. I appreciate that covid has hit local food companies hard and they are still trying to get their pre-pandemic service. there were many guests who were fed and the kitchen struggled to supply consistency; our main dishes were delivered in intervals, so we did not eat together and it took to put the net on the table. as mentioned it was brushed, but a service fee was added to the bill. I think this is a bad service, even if one takes into account the difficulties of the covid. I hope that this feedback will be taken and traded so that we can see an improvement when we visit next."
