"As locals, we have eaten at The Falcon many a time over the years mainly, but not always, being perfectly happy with the food and service. However, our last visit was a real disappointment. Usually the bar and restaurant are busy and the atmosphere convivial, especially on a Friday, but when we arrived, apart from a large noisy family do in the conservatory (we decided to eat in the bar there were only a couple of other tables occupied. By 8.30pm all the tables apart from one other and the bar itself were completely empty so the whole place was eerily quiet. Given this and that there were only three of us (7pm arrival the service was iffy (very slow to even bring us the menus, ordering water which never arrived etc but most importantly, the meal itself was generally underwhelming. I asked if I could have the duck well cooked no, only as it comes, pink; the beef dish (pretentiously called Pecanha which on questioning, the waitress described as a hunk of cow! could only be served medium rare. What we did order in the end was generally uninspiring. There are plenty of other good restaurants in the area so I’m afraid we wont be in any hurry to return to the Falcon."

this is a great place for food/ snacks and drinks. the service was excellent and three young men who served us went beyond and beyond his duty, he was a very personable waiter. eating was amazing, we loved it.

Fantastic find. The 2 year old granddaughter chose it by blind scrolling on TripAdvisor. She chose very well. Lovely place, food was awesome and the staff were lovely and attentative with the grand children. Will definitely be going back.

The restaurant was surprisingly quiet, but my pigeon madras starter and guinea fowl main course were excellent. However I thought the ales and lagers a bit expensive. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 View menu

We were on a walk in the area and stopped in for a break. Service was friendly if a bit slow. We were hoping to get a bar snack, but the lunch menu was mostly just main meals. However we chose three small items for £12 and a bowl of chips, which made quite a good lunch.

we stopped at this great old pub full character for lunch halfway through a circular walk in the opposite friendly but not the fastest service, eating was pleasant, but not really what we were after. we and others asked for a light bite sandwiches, but these are not available.A missed opportunity imho. A wonderful evening, sat in their garden with our dog. Eating amazing pizza cooked in their wood fired cob oven. The staff, actually the owners, gave impeccable service, highly welcoming and genuinely friendly, thankyou for a wonderful experience, the glorious night sky and warm evening was a bonus Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

restaurant quality eat without the full, attentive service and beautiful atmosphere. had a meal for two in the week, it was not busy eating was excellent quality from the "pub food" menu and the service was attentive without being overlaid. I have eaten at some local places and this is some of the best food in the opposite. only improvement could be a small music in the orangery, but otherwise excellent round.

"this was my birthday contract with the children (in their 40's go to lunch big situation, but the management is missing in action. we smiled at the typos. the menu, but it turned out to be a symptom of deficiency...view to detail. very friendly (but quite inexperienced waiting staff. great location and a very warm welcome. water came pretty fast. the starters were pretty good (3 ham hock croquettes and a panko chicken. the mains were another thing. two fish and chips very nice, good portions and well presented. burger was terrible. here is the menu description 6oz coarsely ground beef burger, candied speck, soft bevel, cheddar cheese, salattomate . the reality was a burger in a bungalow with a piece soggy salat and maybe some cheese. no speck, no tomats, no wobble so £18 for an average qualitysburger and they have to pay extra for riders! To conclude that there was at least 5 10 minutes after the other net, so we sat just wait and had to ask the waitress when it came. description • crispy confit ente bein, herby buttermilk waffel, fried due egg with maple senf dressing the reality that was inspected and watery it looked out and tasted as if it were boiled to death. the herby buttermilk waffel was chewing and certainly in a blind taste test I would swear that there is no more crumble in. to cover, it was cold. the sniffing was nicely spread in the waffles that gave them a taste. we also ordered the knochenmark from the menu. No one had said to the poor waitress that they should have been ordered to tell the diners what was going on and no. the menu. when we complained, the manager had not even come the courtesy and see us they left the poor junior waiterin to explain that the speck had not come with the delivery to the last day (one ever heard that he jumps out of the super market to buy some? and there was no excuse for the missing tomats, very badly sorry for us, so on. desserts the brownie was very nice, but the eton mess was a catastrophe. it came in a small delicate glass. in the ground a buckling of whipped cream with some slabs of stone hard meringue and some earthy with stems overfilled with some earthberry syrup. after bending the spoon. we decided to solve it by hand. I was afraid that I would break a tooth on the notched position that really needed to be served with a hammer. the only way to eat the earthy was to pick them up from the body, to bite and to eat to which time our hands were covered in sauce. on the plus side, they drew the price of the burger and Eton fair and 25% of the duck, as we had 3 glasses of wine and a koks, the bill was still over £120 without drinking money. to say that by my choice of restaurants, I would be embarrassing a rough understatement."
