"an island in the sea of the hamburger convenience kitchens - here is the carving really homemade and not from the big factory! Just in the warm season the beautiful beer garden at the stausee attracts - we take the time and again to spend a nice evening there. inside it looks a little like a brick village restaurant from earlier and could come for my taste somewhat more modern. The homemade pralins, which are available in rich selection and also for taking with them, are particularly recommended - some of them are very unusual flavors."

"Bistroküche in gemütlich-modernem Ambiente. Die spezielle Raumanordnung gibt es häufiger in Eppendorf. Zwei zur Straße hin eigentlich getrennte Räume, die "hintenrum" verbunden sind. Hier wurde das so umgebaut, dass zwar die offene Bistroatmosphäre erhalten bleibt, aber mehrere Raumteilungen eine besondere Gemütlichkeit erzeugen.Draußen kann man auf einem sehr breiten Bürgersteig mit den hier üblichen schattenspendenden Bäumen auch gut sitzen. Die Erikastraße ist eine Einbahnstraße mit wenig Verkehr und lohnt sich auch wegen der Umgebung. Alster, viel Grün und der Eppendorfer Shopping-Wahnsinn.Brechtmanns hat eine (uns nicht bekannte) Vergangenheit in Scharbeutz. Dort müssen sie wohl gut "geübt" haben, denn die Qualität der Speisen ist einfach Spitze.Das ist erstklassige, gehobene Bistroküche. Mindestens so gut wie die Lehmwegkonkurrenz Küchenfreunde oder Henssler.Ja, es ist etwas teurer als eine der in der Umgebung zu kriegenden sehr guten 9-10-Euro-Pizzen. Die Qualität ist es mehr als wert. Und auch die Bandbreite der Speisekarte hat uns gefallen. Von einfachen (preisgünstigen) Snacks bis zu eher raffiniertem, kurz angebratenem Thunfisch.Salate und Süßes gibt's sowieso auch.Also, selbst mal hingehen; es gibt auch ein Mittagsangebot."

"Wir saßen im Wintergarten mit einer größeren Gruppe, netter Tisch in der Ecke. Am Anfang ziemlich warm, wurde dann nachher besser. Die Tapas Auswahl war sehr lecker. Nicht einfach nur klassische Tapas, sondern spannende Kombinationen (z.B. gebackener Manchego, Ziegenkäse auf Apfel… Der Service war freundlich, hatte aber viel zu tun, so dass wir uns manchmal vorsichtig in Erinnerung bringen mussten. Nett ist, dass ohne Berechnung schon mal mit Ajoli und Brot auf dem Tisch gestartet wird und Brot auch immer wieder frisch gebracht wurde. Wir kommen gern wieder."

"The Bianc is manageable, approx. 14 tables cozy and single set with view towards kitchen. Opticly everything was like a small art show, very exciting. The service was really very attentive and the wine accompaniment was class(roll weine), despite the many courses only something for drink-resistant. Tastefully and for eating, it was chosen for my partner and me too much different flavors and the courses too wild. We like to eat and cook ourselves lovingly and with heart. This place is simply chosen to be confused for the stomach, so our stomachs had complaints after eating... Negative is that, the Gänge menu lasted hours and our sitting meat has been curly for a long time (4-5hd), despite hint, the menu is not served faster. In addition, cooking is often freshly cooked, and not precooked for hours and days and kept warm until served. The kitchen itself acts very sterile and not lovingly more practical and visually corresponding to its dishes (Chemielabor like). Tastefully there was some tasty but not everything naturally does not meet every taste this menu would be more affordable and less courses would definitely be worth a further visit accordingly it remains with a one-time visit and only a one-time recommendation. Over 600€ plus tip for 2 people is a proud price."

"Very quiet as I ate early in the evening - was seated immediately, orders taken as soon as I put the menu down and the food arrived as fast as it was possible to prepare. The menu looked varied and interesting, Its entirely vegan, and anything could be made gluten free on request. For my taste it leant pretty heavily on soy 'fake meats' with a few tofu and seitan options and not much in the way of fresh vegetables - but the food was good regardless.Anyone whos German is as poor as mine needn't worry - The menus are printed in English as well as German and although the host did not speak much English she was very patient and I had no issues ordering whatsoever.A starter, main, and beer was around 16EUR and very fillingIts worth noting that the drinks menu is entirely alcohol free (including the beers)"

"Time for an english review! For starters do NOT let the whole in the wall appearance fool you! The food here while Imbiss can compete with any restaurant, I eat out a lot for work and do NOT give 5 stars often, but I am giving it here, just like all the other people who reviewed this place. Went here first Germany visit back in January 2014; this visit in July 2014 went 3 times. On the first visit in July the owner recognized me from the January visit, wow 6 month who knows how many customers and he recognizes me : . From my 3 meals there all were good BUT the rotisserie chicken I had was probably the best I had since living in Germany 35 years, yes years ago! The skin was perfectly roasted NOT the least bit soggy; but the meat was so moist and tender. The cucumber salad with oil and vinegar dressing had great taste, wish my dressing be like that when I make it. : According to the owner all the recipes are made by his wife, who I did not meet. None of the so called German restaurant foods I have eaten throughout the US even come anywhere close to this Imbiss place. Only have 2 complaints.... why can 't this place be in New York?? : and as everything is so GOOD the biggest challenge is what to order : Can 't wait to eat here again on next Germany visit! : For all the lucky locals go enjoy this place!!! :"

"Very good restaurant situated in the lovely Karolinenviertel neighborhood. It’s a bit hidden but it’s very cozy inside. Food is a little on the pricey side and portions were small, but the quality of the food is amazing. I would recommend the burrata – one of the best I’ve ever had. Service was very good. They didn’t have English menus yet but our waitress was very friendly and helpful. At the start you get some nice different sorts of bread – and they even got us a small complementary aperitif with fish and avocado mousse, which was delicious."

"That eating was terrific and the services were super friendly. I had rarely experienced such a service. It was super family and a warm atmosphere. The cook has personally presented itself to everyone and asks if everything fits. He was also very open for a conversation and gave us insider tips for Hamburg. "I was already at pretty all good sushi restaurants in hamburg (henssler, east etc). but this restaurant is something special. my friend and I always like to come back. through the familary atmosphere you always feel like friends. we always take the sushi freestyle plate in the sushi freestyle, as it always varies from choice and always offers something new. the prices for wilhelmsburger conditions are rather uplifted, but the fresh and taste of the food is definitely worth it. I can only recommend this restaurant to anyone.Tip: presumably reserve a table. due to the limited places it is in the evening in the regular full."

"Im August war ich in der Foccaceria Apulia, wo ich schon länger hin wollte. Und es war wirklich ein Glücksgriff!! Die Foccacia Klasse mit einer lievito Madre gebacken, heißt mit einem italienischen Sauerteigansatz, kross und innen luftig leicht. Der Belag echt italienisch, saftig, und geschmacklich sehr gut gewürzt! Der Service und der Chef waren aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Und: es gab eine ganze Seite Alkoholfreie Cocktails. Phantasievolle Saftmischungen, die die Hamburger Wüste, was alkoholfreies angeht, sehr bereichert! Und das alles zu absolut guten Preisen! Hier gehe ich öfters hin!!"

"We had dinner at Vlet during our Hamburg trip since a friend recommended this restaurant to us. When I made the reservation online, I was not informed that either all 9 of us had to order 4 course menu or we had to order from a smaller menu which only has 3 main dishes. So I was quite disappointed since I would like to try something else which I could not be able to order at all. Since there were not many choices on the smaller menu, all 9 of us made our decisions quickly. The small starters looked very appealing but tasted just ok. Some friends had salad and they claimed it was delicious. I had ordered salmon as main dish. Mine tasted quite ok but honestly I expected more, might be some ingredient that I have no idea what it is. My salmon came with shallot, so my first impression of it was quite underwhelming. No, my salmon was delicious but for the price Vlet charges, they need to offer more to justify the high price. Or maybe this is the Hamburg price? I also had desert which was tasty but again I had better desert somewhere else for less money. We had a great night just enjoying each other's company."

"we've been waiting for a long time for treses, because we were sure we could sit somewhere or take a certain table. the service performance was super busy and initially simply ignored what was not so cool. when I was polite, but in any case imitated, the service was really great and the eating has made the start difficulties more than once again. we had gnocci with tomatensoße and pizza mozart with homemade limo not so sweet what I found well and a tiramisu. the star to go there is actually just because I found the tiramisu so mediocre and you can't take half stars out. but if I don't find everything super tasty and good, unfortunately there are only 4 stars, which is actually a little sorry for me, because if I didn't have this tiramisu, it would have become. I'm sorry!"

"Das Bistro ist gemütlich eingerichtet. Man kann prima das Treiben auf der gertigstraße beobachten. Der Service ist wirklich sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und hat alle Gäste im Auge, um eventuelle Nachbestellungen aufzunehmen, den sehr leckeren dipp aufzufüllen oder leere Teller abzuräumen.Wie hatten zwei Pizzen: einmal mir Spinat und Thunfisch und einmal mit Spargel und parmaschinken. Uns har beides sehr für geschmeckt, genauso wie der kostenfreie Dipp des Hauses.Der Preis für Getränke und essen war angemessen.Die Toilette war sauber - alles in allem eine sehr runde Sache. Ich empfehle das Bistro Gorgonzola unbedingt weiter und vergebe fünf Punkte."

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember.The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity.The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
